Let’s Crepe

Misses the mark! Love crepes but these weren’t that good. Only tries the savory so the sweet may be better. Tried the Greek and curry, both we were told are great sellers. Crepes themselves were over cooked and hard to cut through. Not much filling. The Greek was better, but the curry was just meat, lettuce and curry sauce… nothing special. Kids meal comes in cute paper car but again there is almost no filling. Not much space to eat in either probably 5 tables at most. No public bathroom. Employees were very nice though and seemed to enjoy working there.

The crêpe was delicious. I got one with sun dried tomato, feta cheese, and spinach. The paper plate it was served on made it difficult to cut the crêpe. They should use real dishes to make it easier– and also be environmentally friendly. The only bathroom available is in the employee area and is very dirty. The communication with the workers was awkward. They were both very quiet and shy. Great food but unless they change the atmosphere the business won’t make it.

Try their Crispy Lemon & Sugar Crêpe, it’s the best. I’m not too crazy about the lunch crepes, just the dessert are good. Service was a bit slow when they first opened, I think they finally got the workflow down. Come support this new business.

My husband and I love crepes and had not heard of this place until we saw the Groupon. We went on a late Saturday morning and the place was fairly empty (only 1 other table). They had some interesting crepes on their savory menu like Thai Peanut. (But I must say that they chose an awful font for the menu board. We had to use the hand-​held menus so we could easily read the descriptions!)
We got our food pretty quickly. My husband got the Greek crêpe which was good, and I got a ham and cheese crêpe which was very disappointing. I expected chopped chunks of ham, but instead it was some large slices of ham cold-​cuts which were sort of gross to look at and very hard to cut. Also, as others have noted, the crepes were pretty thick and rubbery and not delicate and soft like they should be. And they served them on paper plates which made it even more difficult to saw through the crepes. We also ordered a chocolate overload crêpe for dessert which was good but rich.
All-​in-​all, an ok experience considering the price of the Groupon. However, they have some real competition with some of the other crêpe places in town so they better step up their crêpe-​game!

I like this place, I do. I believe the crepes themselves are made well. Similar to how I make them at home and I was taught by a French family. The desert crepes are good and I enjoyed what I ate.
There are just a few problems.
1. I don’t love the crêpe recipes. Maybe this is what they’re going for, but the recipes are more infusion than French. I would appreciate more French recipes and even more French sides.
2. The crepes are too small. They just are. It’s not possible for an adult to get full off of one.
3. The crepes are too expensive. For the size it’s going to cost $ 14 to get full. There also aren’t meal options it’s all a la carte. Filling french inspired sides, or hell even french fries would be helpful.
I do like the place overall, but for someone looking for a French staple it’s just not the place.

I recently tried this through a Groupon — because I love crepes. First off, the prices are exorbitant for the amount of food you receive; these should be robust, hearty crepes, and they are not. I tried 3 different crepes in a row, and each was not to my liking. The employees are nice, and the shop is quaint, but the crepes are too thin, and too far toasted; what’s left is a bitter flavor of burn, more than the delicate flavor of a crêpe. Either their cooking surface is too hot, their batter has too much sugar, or the employees are not chefs able to make crepes effectively. I saw a guy on fisherman’s wharf, pier 39, make 20 crepes in 6 minutes, and they were huge, delicious, delicate, and full of stuff. This was San Fransisco — mind you — and it cost me $ 9.85. This place charges about $ 7 bucks for a couple tablespoons of filling inside a crispy crêpe. I wonder if the people making the food have ever tried to eat what they’re making. It’s not horrible, but it needs tweaked a lot because the crepes are either too bland in the worst places, and too sweet in the worst places. Try it, because they’re new and need patrons. I appreciate their trying, but Cinzetti’s crêpe bar down the street is better, and a high school kid is making them between checking his iPhone and the ravioli.
P. S. The store is oddly decorated, with berets, chalkboards, boxes of candy bars for sale, and a massive expensive coke refrigerator next to a restaurant-​pop dispenser. I think they would improve, because they are very new. I hope they read this, so they may tweak their business plan slightly. I can’t imagine anyone with tastebuds and a brain would spend anymore than 1 visit here — in its current capacity. Maybe I’ll try it again someday if it sticks around.

Darling place! Very small, but very clean– spotless in fact!- and the 2 ladies working there when I went in could not have been nicer. They were polite and so knowledgeable about the menu– love that!
It’s a hard to find restaurant, but luckily there are some sign boards around Town Center directing you to it– much appreciated!
My mom & I each got a savory crêpe, and then split a dessert crêpe. I’m not a crêpe aficionado, but I do think the dough itself should’ve been cooked longer– it had zero crispiness to it– the few other crepes I’ve had at other restaurants were browned and crisp and I much prefer that. My pepperoni and pesto/​marinara crêpe was good but the cheese wasn’t melted completely– it just tasted like pizza basically. I love pizza, but I didn’t go here to eat pizza. Plus the pesto on top clearly came out of a jar. Pesto is so easy to make– I’d love for them to make it fresh.
My mom ordered the Thai Peanut crêpe and had the same reaction. The flavors were good, but it didn’t really seem like a crêpe.
But the dessert crêpe we ordered– Nutella with strawberries– really seemed like a crêpe and was a special treat.
I wish this place served some side dishes besides chips. How about soup or salad? Who wants to eat chips with crepes?! Seems like an odd combo.
We had a groupon for this place and it was a great deal. I’ll probably return, but I really want to be wowed next time– I hope I am, because the potential is there.

As a crêpe enthusiast, I was excited to discover a crêperie in Town Center Plaza. It felt like quite an adventure, as it is difficult to find (set back in an alley), and doesn’t have its own parking. The poorly-​done, fast-​food-​esque signage was the second red flag… but crêpes are street food in France, right? The décor inside seemed reminiscent of a sub sandwich shop. The menu seemed overreaching, with some bizarre choices (Thai peanut curry crêpes?), yet another red flag, but I could not be deterred. I ordered my old standby – a Nutella and banana crêpe, which was not even a menu item. I had to pay an up-​charge on an already $ 7 crêpe to add bananas. Which I would have been okay with, had it been a delicious and satisfying crêpe. (As I mentioned earlier, I love crêpes!) What I received was sad, tough, and rubbery. It was difficult to cut through, even with a fork and knife, and was unpleasant to chew. I felt a little bad for the sweet girl working there, she seemed to be trying too hard. To top it off, I asked her to direct me to the restroom, and was shown to their back room to the employee restroom. It was kind of her to let me use it, but paralleled the awkwardness of the rest of my experience at this establishment, which overall seemed unprofessional and poorly-​executed.

Saw an article in the Star & I could get a checkin special deal so decided to try it. A group of us came at lunch. We waited… and waited… and waited to place our order and again waited to get our order. Not a lot of choices for lunch primarily dessert choices. I had the pepperoni with the pesto. It took quite a while to get my crêpe as I could see they were making it fresh. They need more «chefs» or a better way to stream line their process. For $ 6.98 I got an average size serving. I was disappointed in the wait, portion, and price. The crêpe didn’t live up to my expectation. I MIGHT go back to try the dessert crêpe but with only a coupon or deal that I got today ($ 5 for $ 10 Unilocal deal). Otherwise eat at one of the other choices in this vicinity (Town Center).

I don’t know when they opened, but this place seems fairly new. The crepes were okay; mine reminded me of a hot pocket, edible but nothing to rave about. For $ 7, I left feeling very unsatisfied. There were three others in my party, and we all ordered something different. Everyone had the same experience. The service was friendly but very slow. Waiting 25 minutes for a ham and cheese crêpe seems excessive. I think given time, they will fix the time issue. Hopefully they can make the portions more substantial too. I don’t think I’ll be back though. There are much better places to spend my money.
