We will start having standard bred (heritage) chicks available at the start of February, 2016 Contact us to place your reservations! Also, look for us at the Indy Winter Farmers’ Market at the Circle City Industrial Complex.

Our farm specializes in heritage poultry (chickens, turkeys, guineas — alive and processed), organic herbs, veggies, & fruits, and home and body décor constructed from feathers.

History

Established in 1995.

We started raising bees and selling honey. Then we started raising poultry. Then the garden started producing more than we could possibly consume. Now we are a farm!

Twenty years of struggling to survive in corporate America were quite enough to put my purpose and true goals into focus. I now happily own and operate a small farm specializing in Heritage poultry production and breed preservation, as well as medicinal-​and culinary-​herb and vegetable cultivation, and beekeeping.

The beauty of the shed feathers of my free-​range and pastured domestic poultry coaxed me toward finding useful ways of promoting these rare breeds and re-​purposing the feathers. I create unique items for adorning the body and the home. Feathers are humanely collected when dropped naturally, or when the birds are harvested. No wild bird feathers are used in my creations, although I sometimes employ dropped feathers from friends’ pet birds and other domestic avians that have been humanely treated. Custom work is embraced and encouraged.
