These guys REALLY saved our asses. I was driving from the Bay Area to Disneyland for my daughters 3^rd birthday. We were so happy to find a spot before hitting the grapevine. Hour n a half later we were back on the road, made it to Disneyland and back home with no other problems.

They fixed our water pump that was covered by another repair shop. Excellent service, highly recommend.

Came in with a punctured tire from the 5 Freeway. They said that they were able to fix it but in the end they made the hole worse and were not able to fix it. These guys don’t know what they are doing. Waste of time. They used plugs instead of patching the tire from the inside. Don’t come here if you have the same problem. They will most likely mess up your tire as well.

The greatest and friendliest road service! If they won’t get you going, no one will! Fast and professional service! Thank you guys, you’re the best!

Broke down coming over the mountain in August. We were driving through from Washington and had no idea who to call. Thank God for Unilocal!Found great reviews for FAS Automotive on Unilocal.Had our radiator replaced there the same day and got back on the road. Had a discrepancy on the final bill and Sam fixed it real quick and made it right. If you get stuck coming over the mountain this is definitely the place to go. Sam and his son will get your car fixed right, quick and for a fair price. They don’t screw out of towners who get stuck with shotty work and a huge bill.

These guys are AMAZING stayed 6 hours after closing due to me not being able to get my car until 7 days later unless it was done today. I got stuck at the top Of the grapevine driving from Los Angeles to kern county. THEY ARE THE BEST I would drive from Los Angeles to have these guys work on my car just due to there commitment and thoroughness through their work! THANK YOU GUYS I will be back for a routine check up I highly highly highly suggest going to them for all of your car needs

These guys totally saved my butt! I was on my way to the bay area from LA and my steering wheel started shaking like crazy. I called FAS and described what was going on and they said it was probably my rotars. When I showed up Sam immediately took my car out for a test drive and confirmed it was in fact my rotars. He even picked the part up while he was out on the test drive. They started work on my car right away and in about an hour they were done! I was so relieved I was able to get my car fixed, and in a timely manner too!

The owner, Sam, is good, honest mechanic, who got our van fixed up in no time. We broke down on our way to San Fransisco and got towed here by recommendation. He was polite, easy going, and pretty funny actually. Hour and a half, in and out, done. Plus there’s a cool little antique store right next door.

My family and I were on our way to a three day camping trip in Sequoia. We were driving thought the Grape Vine when our car over heated. CHP escorted us off the Freeway and to the closest repair shop which happened to be FAS Automotive. When we arrived our car was quickly inspected. It turned out that our water pump was out and repairs would take 2 days. The folks at FAS took the time to help us get a rental at Rent a Wreck. We left our car at FAS, got our rental and continued our trip to Sequoia. When we returned our car was fixed and ready for us to pick up. The fee for repairs was fair and we later found out that the same repair would have probably cost at least $ 500 more at the dealer. Thank you FAS for being good at what you do and for your fair pricing. Five stars all the way.

These guys are AWESOME! We were travelling from San Jose to L.A. for a friend’s birthday party in our 2013 Nissan Rogue when the vehicle started acting up. The acceleration started getting weaker and weaker, and we found it harder and harder to accelerate to the point it almost broke down on us right before the Grapevine. We called our insurance company, who then called the towing company and a local garage to take it to. When the tow truck driver arrived, he recommended NOT going to the one the insurance company, and then recommended FAS automotive repair. We got the approval of the insurance company, and went to FAS. They could have easily told us anything and charged us anything, but instead told us the TRUTH! And that was that a lot of the newer vehicles with four cylinders will sense that the transmission is smart enough that when it gets too hot, it slows the vehicle down and sometimes stops it so it doesn’t get too hot. He then did a diagnostic and tested the vehicle to confirm his suspicions. He was right! And he gave us a great deal on the diagnostic services. He could have charged us an arm and a leg and told us anything and we would have believed it, but he was honest! Great service! Love you guys, thank you VERY MUCH!!!

Thank God for FAS automotive! Our check engine light came on right as we
started up the Grapevine and I panicked… With our two small nephews in the car already tired from the long car ride FAS automotive has on back on the road in no time. Thanks guys!

On our trip to SF we noticed that the car was shaking really badly going down the mountain. We pulled over and I searched the closest auto repair. Called Fas Automotive and Sam identified the problem right away. Bad rotors! Knowing we were traveling and out-of-towners…he asked us all the questions on the phone about the car. While we were driving to his shop, he was on the phone ordering the rotors. This guys used his and our time very wisely! We got there, meet some great locals and got our rotors fixed and back in the road in an hour. Plus… he was honest and fair with price and didn’t take advantage of travelers in distress! Stand up guy and his team too! Much thanks! Btw– we are going down that same mountain right now with No shaking!

Had an emergency situation while coming back from a job site. these guys got right on it .i made a rookie mistake and put diesel in the gas tank of the work truck. these guys jumped right on it and got it taken care of. in most situations i get nervous about dealing with mechanics. this father and son shop didnt charge even close of what they could of. were really cool to shoot the #$&@ with while it was getting done. i would definatly send a friend here.

Stopped in here on our way back from LA to SF because our transmission temperature light came on. The guy (owner I presume) was very nice and helpful and told us that we didn’t really need to do much other than let the car cool down. He could’ve charged us to do some useless work, but didn’t, and for that he gets 5 stars.

My clutch decided to completely give out near midnight on the grapevine on Christmas! I was towed to another shop that had pretty bad reviews, so I called FAS and spoke to Sam. I am SO glad I did. He ordered my clutch, stayed late to fix my car, offered me a ride – overall, he was absolutely kind and competent, the kind of person you hope to find in such circumstances. Thank you Sam!

As I was driving up from LA to SF, the transmission gave out on my Odyssey. The car was taken to FAS by my insurance company (covered repair) and Sam and Nadine couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. I had to monitor the progress from afar as home was far away, but Sam kept me in the loop with the progress and managed the insurance side of it as well with minimal effort on my part. I appreciated everything they did to make my experience as painless as possible and the repairs were done well to boot! If I lived in the area, FAS would be my mechanic of choice, no doubt. Thanks again to the team at FAS, and Sam and Nadine in particular.

When my van broke down on the Grapevine, the tow driver recommended this place so I had him take my vehicle here. Sam (the mechanic) was not able to get the part until the next day, but let me leave my vehicle with him while I got a rental to finish my family vacation with. I picked up my vehicle three days later on our way back home. It worked great, no problems, and his prices were quite reasonable.

We broke down just a couple of days ago on I-​5 during the heat wave with a busted coolant reservoir, among other things, and Panorama Towing Service referred me to Sam and boy, do I owe Panorama, because Sam really saved us.
I have a BMW, hard to get parts for, hard to service, but Bill had our car running nice & smooth again in less than 24 hours. He very calmly showed me everything that was broken, explained the how and why and even let me know that if anything else went wrong on the drive back (we had 4 hours left to San Jose), what the probably cause would be.
Everybody at FAS was very polite and did excellent work and we got home that night, safe and sound. Even if you’re broken down some miles out, you really should have it towed to Sam, because this is the best experience I’ve had in this terrible type of situation. Thank you Sam!

After breaking down on the foothills, I searched here on Unilocal and found the closest garage with high ratings, and I was not disappointed. Had a ballpark estimate within 30 mins, Sam and his son kept me company until my ride arrived. Seeing as the only logical fix would be an engine replacement, estimates of completion time were only around two days. I’ve dealt with many mechanics and though I live an hour away in LA I’m debating making the drive whenever I need something done. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Just as I’m getting ready to get on the freeway to go home after a long weekend of camping with friends, I notice the needle in the red for my engine temperature. After calling friends from the gas station parking lot and trying a few things, it was obvious I would have to get lodging overnight and have it looked at by a professional mechanic.
The folks at the Motel 6 recommended FAS for anything having to do with overheating. I showed up when they opened the roll doors first thing next morning. I was a little leery, as Subaru’s are known for being extremely fussy cars that can stump mechanics who don’t work on them regularly. But I had no choice… I was stranded in a mountain town.
Turns out I got lucky. This is a fantastic family run shop. They diagnosed it as a cracked radiator, showed me to prove it, ordered the part, and kept the shop open late so I would not have to stay another night. I picked up my car at 8:30pm (and they still had two more cars to go). They really work hard to take care of their customers.
And (this is a first for me), the next day I got a phone call from FAS. Per our discussion about Subaru’s, they just wanted to follow up to make sure their work stood and that I got home safe. (Who does that these days… Nobody!!!)
