The only reason I came here was to suffice my hunger pangs. I would NOT recommend this place otherwise. I should have gotten the hint when the parking lot was practically empty during the after church/lunch rush. I walked in alone with intention to just sit at the bar. The bartender was nowhere to be found, the bar was empty, but still left dirty from other customers and stayed that way until I left. Mind you. .I was there for about an hour and no one else sat at the bar. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar, the fajitas were mediocre, the tortillas were cold even though they arrived in a container, and the black beans were under cooked and still hard. The only thing I could count on tasting the way it should was the Angry Orchard I drank. The only thing left to say about this place is that there is no pride in the kitchen and I’m not sure how they’re still open for business.

Go somewhere else. I tried calling 3 times to speak to someone about catering and on the third call someone picked up the receiver and then hung up immediately. Besides the salsa is terrible anyway.

What a conflicted little place for me. I often wonder is it corporate that makes these decisions or is it the local management staff? We come in to on the border because they make great Patron margaritas. And then we order one of the appetizers and then of course the main dish. On my main dish is one beef taco. When I look at my very expensive taco it has less meat in it than my taco did at Taco Bell. So I ask for extra taco meat. The next part is interesting it’s like I asked for something totally bizarre how can I dare ask for extra taco meat this is the way they serve it. Now keep in mind several things one is for several weeks the taco will be full of beef and then all of a sudden it’s where’s the beef? There is no consistency. My request though cannot be that bizarre because on my bill there will show up 2 ounces of taco meat for $.49 obviously this has been a problem before. So here I am at on the border wondering what is the average ticket price at this restaurant personally I just dropped over $ 100 for two people and was charged $.49 for 2 ounces of taco meat that should’ve been inside the taco in the first place just bizarre to me. I like the place I like the drinks I’ll even be back but really you’re going charge me $.50 for 2 ounces of taco meat when your taco didn’t deliver in the first place. Come on corporate fix it or if it is the local management staff figure it out!

Guacamole Live! At On The Border. Here Karla prepares the dish fresh at your table. Red onions, cilantro, tomato, jalapeño, lime, and of course ripe avocados(salt optional). The flavored burst forth in your mouth. The black beans are a nice side. Salsa and chips included. Mexican beer makes the meal complete.

My family and I come to this on the border almost every Tuesday, for taco Tuesday. It’s a deal $ 2, or is it? Our food has never come out hot, not once, we have lived in this area for 10 years. As I sit here right now eating my warm food, at least it’s not cold right?! I’m thinking maybe it’s a better deal to pay more for better food. The town center location on the other hand is a lot better than this one… I eat my food there and thinking its warm, I burn my mouth, because it’s not what I’m used to

The service and food at this joint is always friendly, fast, and excellent. My favorite item to eat on the menu is the southwest chicken tacos. The are so simple but amazingly delicious. For a franchised restaurant its well worth every penny you spend inside. Also don’t forget to get you queso and sopaipillas’.

We had a larger party(about 10 of us) and after we ordered, we waited long enough to see rounds of people eat and leave. It was a good thing no one was in a big hurry. The food was alright… nothing spectacular. The cheese sauce was pretty bland, but was alright when you mixed it with their salsa. I did like the salsa a lot, it had a good kick to it! Waitress was friendly. Good for get-togethers but just not my choice

What can I say: it is a Texas corporate take on tex mex. Every single time you go will be just like the last time you went. It is overpriced and that is my only real problem. Friendly yet creepy staff here.

Not good, but not extremely bad, and I’ve had awful Mexican food. I know OTB isn’t my favorite, but I was at Ulta getting my nails done, so I stopped at On The Border. I was seated immediately, and given a menu. The server was a male who kind of sashayed off his sentences, to the point of half way not being able to hear him. I ordered, and he bought my chips and salsa. OMG I can’t stand their salsa. I KNOW I don’t like it, never had. I asked for more mild, so the the next step down tastes like tomato paste with tomato chunks. I had the mini street tacos. they were so so. I didn’t like something in the soft taco shell. It didn’t taste well. Kind of wish I hadn’t ordered this. I did like the avocado that came with it. There’s tons of Mexican places around the same area… next time I feel lazy, I’ll not choose this OTB, and go on to a different restaurant.

This place is really bad. The product that out of this kitchen was horrible! Most of our order was wrong and what was brought out was very low quality. The waitress accidentally gave my 2 yr old spicy salsa which caused him to go nuts. My advice is the fire your kitchen management ASAP and start over. It’s really bad… seriously!

I’m not too proud to admit that I like this place. I’ve been here on a lazy Thursday afternoon, a late Saturday night, and Sunday brunch-ish times. Pitchers of margaritas are a great way to get started and make your friends happy. The menu is straight forward though fairly big — including Mexican-ish food and of course your standard burger and fries. Lots of unique drinks and great selection of fried appetizers(don’t hate). I like to order the queso dip and chips and call it a meal :) Best of all — fried ice cream dessert. PERFECT. The staff here has always been fine… nothing special, but no red flags, either. Last time I was here our waitress was respectful of our time crunch and helped us get our food quickly. I left feeling full and happy. Can’t complain.

I have to completely agree with Katie D’s review. I think their food is revolting. The atmosphere is nice… the service is nice… the food is deplorable. I have gone there two times and since, have never been back. The whole flavor of their food is «off». I just can’t pinpoint it but it’s just not there.
