My five year old was feeling sensitive to light and itching her eyes a lot. She never had an eye exam because I was afraid to start her with eye glasses at young age. I keep looking for kid friendly optometrist I found Dr. Paul on Unilocal and took my chance.
Dr. Paul was amazing. A concern parent (himself) and very careful with children. He examine her completely and even took the time to repeat some steps to make sure. Eve though I never being to optometrist exam room, his was well equipped. Lobby was as clean as it gets and his staff were very friendly. We made 3 more appointments with his office and looking for to see him again. Thanks Dr. Paul for such a excellent care.

They will take good care of you here. Both eye docs are friendly and personable. Same goes for the rest of the staff. They also have a nice selection of frames and take vision insurance.

I came here a few months back and just getting a review in. I thought I had made a review and when I was asked what optometrist i would recommend local this place was the first to pop in my head. I went to my Unilocal account and noticed no review so here it goes.
I’m pretty much a fan of this spot, a straight forward, helpful Optometrist that will listen to you and provide suggestions. They even do the whole «green business» idea which I like, buy a pair, they give a pair!
I moved to San Diego and needed to use my benefits before they expired from my old company. When i called about 4 optometrist, each one was booked and couldn’t accommodate to my new job schedule (i couldn’t ask my new employer for half a day when I just started working!). Got my late appointment, got in, checked my phone for a quick review and voila, the doc saw me right away (no pun intended). Went through the whole eye testing, was provided an optional test that cost extra but declined. Like the fact they didn’t upsell me or force me into getting it. Sat down with the doc, took his time and had a good conversation about SD and local’s spots while going over my eye exam. As soon as I was finished, he prescribed me, recommended me a contact but suggested I go with what feels comfortable. they gave me a case for my current eye glasses and used my insurance to the max. The staff is friendly, the doc knows his stuff, and the spot is flexible… can’t go wrong. I’ve recommended and will keep on recommending.

Dr. Wesling has been my family’s optometrist for years. He’s so calm and knowledgeable, patiently answers all of my questions, and provides excellent service.
If you are interested in new contacts, they will provide as many trial packs as needed to find the right fit. That’s how I found the best dailies for me — Acuvue TruEye.
The office has a new eye imaging machine which showed my retina, blood vessels, and optic nerve, and Dr. Wesling explained that mine appear healthy.
To prevent eye strain on the computer, Dr. Wesling recommends:
1. ²⁰⁄₁ rule – look at a distant object for 1 minute every 20 minutes of computer use
2. Prescription reading glasses over contacts
Dr. Wesling is great at diagnosing and referring his patients to the appropriate specialists, which he did for an eyelid bump/​chalazion issue I had years ago, as well as for my dad’s diabetes-​related eye issues.
I’ve also had a great experience with Dr. Hari, who did my check-​up in 2009 and explained that Omega-​3s would benefit my eye health.
I highly recommend this exceptional eye care team!

Awesome place!!! I used to go to Dr. Wesling 10 years ago and moved out of the area. Then his office relocated a few miles from his original location and I never made it back to see him. Over the past ten years I have gone to several other doctors with unhappy results. Until yesterday… it was my birthday and my license was going to expire. Luckily I was able to find his office and they fit me in within 45 minutes of calling. I got new contacts and was able to get to the dmv and pass the eye test the same day. And want to thank everyone there for helping me do this!!! I never would have passed without them. The best part is I also found out that he is part of the network of doctors covered by my insurance plan so I saved out of pocket expenses as well. I am sorry I didn’t try harder to find him years ago. I will never go anywhere else again. Definitly recommend him to everyone looking for a new eye doctor!!!

My first time here since this is closer to where I live and I do agree the staff was helpful. Even the eye doctor was very friendly too & does make it to the point you are comfortable when making the eye exam. Definitely a good choice. I would recommend the place. Although the office was a little bit small but it does work well with clients.

very friendly and personable staff. they were extremely helpful in answering my questions and figuring out what my vision coverage would do for me. the space is small so it was a little difficult with myself, 4 other customers and 3 staff members in the space but the great customer service makes up for the lack of space. the selection of designer frames was less than what i have been spoiled by at my regular optomitrist ib new jersey, but better than a lot of other places i’ve been. i would recomend this place, especially if local.

After a change in my health insurance, I was a bit cautious about choosing a new optometrist. After looking over some of the Unilocal reviews, I decided to go with Lemon Grove Optometry. It was definitely the right choice! I made an appointment with Dr. Usha Hari and she was wonderful! The rest of the staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. I would highly recommend!

I am new to SD and found Dr. Wesling on Unilocal.He is super nice, and very informative. The best part: I am finally able to wear contacts because of Dr. Wesling’s help! I def recommend him.
