This place is beyond awesome! Been searching for a tattoo shop that is more than just amazing work but amazing friends. From the moment i walked in to the moment i left everyone in this shop treated amazingly as if we had all been friends for years. The artist in the shop are extremely amazing when it comes to what you want. They help you in every way to get exactly what you have in mind. Definitely the best tattoo shop I have been to in SD. Lions Den is one of the best tattoo parlors in San Diego hands down! Awesome customer service, super clean shop and artists that really listen to the customers. I highly recommend Lions Den for your next tattoo!

I had such a great experience at Lions Den Tattoo getting my breast cancer butterfly tattoo in honor of my mother’s triumph over breast cancer that I brought in both my sisters to have matching tattoos done by the same artist.
The tattoos all came out beautiful! One sister changed it up a little bit to make it a cover up piece on her back, gorgeous!
My mom has never been inside a tattoo shop but she wanted to join us for the experience!!! She loved it She was treated with such respect and kindness that she wants to get inked at Lions Den!

Came in the shop after sister-​in-​law shared her experience and decided to give it a shot. Came in spoke to the owner Mike and he recieved me very warmly and was enthusiastic about my idea for a tattoo. I originally came in to take advantage of the black Friday special but was unable to because military training keeping me out of the city. Mike went above and beyond to accommodate me and made this veteran feel super welcome.
Chris ended up being the artist that did the tattoo and he is a complete professional about everything going out of his way to make sure that I felt comfortable and informed me on what he was doing every step of the way given that I hadn’t received a tattoo in over 8 years and was entirely sober this time around.
After healing up I went back for a follow up and found myself with some time that I pulled the trigger and got another tattoo that same day. Chris again did the tattoo and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome, really love this shop and all the staff there. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality tattoo.

Instead of going to a fancy dinner for our anniversary, my boyfriend and I decided to get tattoos! Now, I know what you’re thinking, definitely not referring to matching ones or anything, just pieces that we really wanted to get.
It was a first for both of us, so finding a place can be rather difficult, of course I went to my trusty Unilocal app! I looked for places near where we live, and there were so many! I came across Lion’s Den Tattoo, it was five stars which is a plus! I literally went through every review and decided it was the place we would go! I checked them out on Facebook as well! Can never be too sure ;) I called and talked to Mike to schedule a consultation, he owns the shop, and he was super nice and told us we could come in the next day! We met with him and gave him some reference pictures for Jerry, our tattoo artist! We talked about sizing, placement, signed some forms, made the appointment, and put a deposit down! Here we are today, one week later with super awesome tattoos!
Jerry was a great artist, he listened to what we wanted, answered all our questions, and helped us understand what he was doing! He’s a super cool dude!
The whole place is filled with beautiful artwork, everything is clean and sanitary, it was definitely a comfortable environment! If you’re thinking about getting a tattoo, this is the place! Thanks Mike, Jerry, and Lion’s Den Tattoo! Better start thinking of my next piece! :P

Outstanding artists, clean and chill shop and extremely nice owner. Chris was my artist and was very helpful and had some great ideas. Not only did he tattoo me but I brought my mom in for mothers day and she ended up getting her FIRST and only tattoo from him. He walked her through the entire process and couldn’t have been more friendly and professional, making the entire experience for her really cool and memorable. If you want to get some awesome work done in San Diego and not end up paying your entire rent check for a tattoo like you would in downtown or PB, do yourself a favor and go see Chris, Jerry and Mike at Lion’s Den Tattoo Shop. This place is awesome. My wife and i have both gotten 3 peices done here by both jerry and Chris, they both do amazing work and never disappoint. Very clean and knowledgeable shop and Chris, Jerry, and Mike are all really cool guys to hang around with when your there.

I came here for their Friday the 13^th Deal last week and I fell in LOVE with Chris Reeds work! I’ve been looking for a tattoo artist in San Diego for three years and I am still amazed by the incredible service I received by Mike, Chris, and the whole studio. Plus my art just came ALIVE! I will definitely be coming back for more.

Great place! I came here while on vacation hoping to get a meaningful souvenir: and I got just that! I’m in love with my piece that I got and better yet, in love with Jerry. He has by far been my favorite artist yet, and it’s a damn shame he’s down here and not up where I live ;)
The shop is clean and as inviting as any tattoo shop can be. They squeezed my sister and I in after a few emails back and forth, which was really nice since we couldn’t come in for a consult till we were in town. They were super cool about my mother bringing in my daughter and nephew (both under 3 years old) once they had woken up from their naps… and that is a quality unheard of in this business! As a customer I really appreciate the accommodations!
They also take card (for only a $ 5 fee) which is starting to become more commonplace in the business. It makes things easier for sure.
The only struggle is the parking situation: there’s like one spot. Unless you are handicap. Then you will most likely have no issues.
Parking aside, this place is worth the 5 star rating.

The Lions Den HOOKED ME UP! I had this ugly tattoo of some initials that I’ve been wanting to get covered up for years now. I am so glad I picked jerry for the job, BIG shoutout to him for the beautifully mean Koi Fish he tatted on me. I’ll be back guys

Just got myself a totally raad tattoo, and it is exactly what I had in mind. The work is great and they do it awesome fast, even though they are super busy. Also there is some good music playing and it’s a great atmosphere for a tattoo shop. Definitely a must go back, kinda place!

I absolutely love my new tattoos. I will keep going here for life. The owner Mike is so caring and nice. Chris my tattoo artist is amazing, his work is top notch. I could not have picked a more perfect piece by myself. I told him my idea and he ran with it. This tattoo is for my dad and brother. I lost my dad 11−11−10 to cancer he was only 57 years old, and I just lost my brother 2−25−16 age 35 to suicide. My world is lost, and this piece helps me put it back together. I am so very thankful for this company and the wonderful customer service and workmanship they have. Thank you. McKenzie

I made an appointment with my good friend Hank. He touched up my wrist tattoo and added to it. He did exactly what I was hoping for and my tattoo came out perfect :) I love it. Also, if you’re into animé/​comic art style, go to this guy. You won’t be disappointed.

I had a very fun time with Mike and LJ. They were very professional and they kept me relaxed the whole time.

I followed Chris here from his previous shop. I have been in a few tattoo shops over the years and this is the one I like the best. All the guys, and gals, were very friendly and not shy about giving advice or an opinion when asked.
My most recent work I was unsure of just what I wanted, after sitting down with Chris and getting my ideas with his talent put down on paper and I was sold.
I will be back when I find m next idea of inspiration!
