Higashi Jewelry & Eyewear

After-​sale customer service is poor. I purchased a watch which ended tarnishing. I was told it was wear. I pointed out the difference between wear and tear vs tarnish. The lady did not care and did not offer a solution.

I love shopping at higashi! There are always so many great choices at different price ranges that I can give as beautiful gifts to a friend or a treat for myself. And Susan, the owner, and all of the wonderful women who work there are very patient and knowledgeable in helping me decide on what to buy. Higashi makes me feel very welcomed if even just window shopping. You should visit Higashi if interested in looking at beautiful jewelry, gifts or just want to meet warm and fun people!

They have nice stuff but they will not get another dime of my money. I’ve been in several times. There is one nice lady that works there and she helped me with a purchase last week. I returned today to buy a gift for my daughter and of the 3 people working there not a soul acknowledged me. That’s ok! I can buy Alex and Ani somewhere else. I KNOW the sales people saw me!!! The racial divide in this area is awful and I can’t wait to get out of this awful area. They saw a black face and decided not to say a word. However they spoke to the white customers that walked in. The probably don’t realize that they do this because they’ve been doing it for so long. I have spent money here before but never ever again because they’ve done this more than once. No «hello» «can I help you» nothing. I get it… Shopping while black.

Higashi Pearls and Jewelry is one of my favorite places to go. Me and my husband have purchased many things there include watches, gifts, earrings, and lately I had my new glasses done by them (which by the way… I love). I have always gotten wonderful service. The sales people have let me (us) look around or if we need or want assistance they are available. I don’t understand the really bad review… perhaps they were speaking of somewhere else.

Higashi is an unexpected find in an offbeat setting – right upstairs from a really cool farmer’s market. They carry the latest in high-​end designer fine jewelry as well as a large selection of very affordable pieces too. I use them for all my repair work. Trustworthy – wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This unpretentious place is located inside the West Shore Farmers Market. The selection is great with unique designer selections. I would recomend repair work by them. Their process is flawed, starting with the person doing the service intake to communicating with the person that actually did the work (somewhere in NYC). I had to go back several times and my piece was given back me not in perfect condition.

If you have read my other reviews then you know that I am extremely picky! If you haven’t then let me say it again — I am super picky! (especially when it comes to jewelry!)
Unfortunately I lost my wedding ring. Saying that I was devastated would be an understatement. I was so upset and virtually in denial for almost a week. Finally my husband who was not very happy that I lost it wanted to cheer me up so he suggested that we start looking for another one.
We went to where he had originally purchased it and found nothing except a sales person who did not know how to do math or the price of their jewelry. We went to several other stores in the mall and quickly noticed that even though the names were different, the merchandise was all the same. We checked out two other stores that were non-​national chains and one was determined to force an «antique» look on me while the other wanted to charge an arm, leg, kidney, and lung for something that looked very much like something from a mall chain store.
I had pretty much given up and declared that I would just wear key ring since I could not find anything that I liked. Luckily this lady at my work suggested that I check out Higashi. I have to admit after the experience I had throughout the week I was very pessimistic.
The shop is quaint and the staff is very friendly. I saw many rings I liked and they had jewelry that was truly unique. I finally saw the ring for me! It is flashy enough for my husband but simple enough for me. It is a huge band of pave diamonds which is fantastic since I have small children and a big solitaire would scratch them (a problem I frequently had with my old ring).
I got a beautiful ring that I will wear forever and each time I look at my ring I smile and think of my husband and I picking it out together. Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner maybe he will go back and get me some of that great Judith Ripka!
If you want a beautiful, unique, and special piece of jewelry for the person who has your heart I would recommend that you go to Higashi.
