Specialties
The Garden Gables is an elegant Inn with four-star amenities set back on five lush and quiet acres, but just steps from the charms of Lenox Village.
We offer a range of locally-grown foods, as part of our Farm-to-Table focus. Private seating for the included breakfast, which features full-service, cooked-to-order specialties and a sumptious buffet. During Tanglewood season, our chef prepares classically-inspired summer dinners on Thursday and Saturday evenings. During the fall, winter and spring, our innkeeper, Denise Altland, who is a NECI-trained chef, hosts her Chef’s Table dinners — seasonal specialties served by the fireside in the library. We happily accomodate your dietary needs, such as vegan and gluten-free.
Enjoy personalized concierge services; swim in the 72-foot long, heated pool — perfect for both laps and lounging. Guest room amenities include free WiFi, iPod clock radios, LCD TVs and Aveda toiletries. Complimentary snacks, beverages and afternoon sherry.
History
Established in 2006.
The Garden Gables Inn began life as a private home in 1780. In the early 1900s it was acquired by Kate Carey, a resident of New York City, as a summer home. She moved the original Butternut Cottage to its present location (it was originally further up Main Street), so that she could have stables and land for her horses and dogs. She greatly expanded the home, echoing the gambrels and gables of the original cottage in the new additions.
In the late 1940s the property changed hands, and the property’s life as a guest house began. Two more owners contributed new ideas and continued to expand the Inn. In 2006 the Vittori family bought the Garden Gables and commenced a major restoration project, adding a commercial kitchen, spa room, revamped public rooms and two new guest suites. We are continuing to redecorate and upgrade the guest rooms and property, and expand the services we offer to our guests. We hope you will enjoy your stay and would love to hear your ideas

Business Owner
We are a brother and sister team that has been working together in the Berkshires for 25 years, when we acquired Hilltop Orchards, located 10 miles away in neighboring Richmond, MA. Our passion is to create experiences that are unique, fun and relaxing. With that in mind, we acquired the Garden Gables Inn in 2006. We are continuing to develop new experiences that link the Inn and the Orchard, where we have a farm winery (first in the Berkshires), hiking and cross-country ski center — your stay includes complimentary access to these activities.
