Nejaime’s Wine Cellars

Nejaime’s provided wine, beer, and other drinks for our wedding. Their selection was excellent and Joe made the entire process as convenient as could be. He helped us find a few budget wines that were wonderful crowd pleasers. They delivered the morning of our ceremony, bottles of white and prosecco prechilled. Could not be happier with Nejaime’s.

Whether you know about beer or wines or just enjoy the occasional glass, this is your store! Incredible variety with very knowledgable staff. For a truly great experience, ask for Joe the owner to help you. Talk about a really nice guy who cares about customer service! Best option around for whatever you enjoy in a liquor store.

A 5-​Star selection; a beautiful space, clean, organized, delicious cheeses and food, Nejaime’s does offer a wonderful selection of fine foods. The service, however, leaves me feeling disappointed. I visited the Lenox location over Columbus Day weekend; the space was very busy, which I thought was great. The staff, however, was uneven in terms of friendliness.
The lady working behind the cheese counter did not deign to look at me or sell me anything; I felt uncomfortable as I made my cheese selection (amazing cheeses!). As I tried to shop the wine & beer coolers, affluent/​well dressed/​spendy looking people walked into me and did not bother to excuse themselves (hardly the fault of the staff) and I felt like I was not even visible to people in the store (am I even able to shop there with the Manhattan’ites??), as staff was welcoming others who came in… but not me.
As I made my way to the wine area of the store (I was probably in the shop for 10 minutes, unacknowledged by staff & other shoppers had either shuffled by me and/​or cut in front of me like I was a ghost), there was a salesman working with a group of people. He struck me as very animated, knowledgeable and fun in the way that he was engaging with the group of people he was servicing. I made a wine selection but decided to return back to the wine coolers and selected a local cranberry wine instead. I was considering buying an Ice Cider wine but decided not to given how out of place I was beginning to feel in the store.
As I was cashing out a.) other customers who were older and presumably wealthier attempted to cut me in line; b.) the very chatty & engaging salesman who was helping the group I referenced earlier did not even bother to say hello to me (he just curtly asked me if «this is it?» — my $ 30 basket of cheese, bread and wine) or even make eye contact with me. As he was making my change, I really felt like asking for him to return my transaction but thought better of it. …I assumed that maybe I was reading too much into the tone/​behavior of the salesman given how I was feeling; that surely, he would not snub how «little» I was spending.
Anyway, my experience was not fun and/​or exciting — it was more uncomfortable than anything. As an ex-​Store Manager, I understand what busy holiday weekends are like for a staff, and I understand that providing a top level of service to everyone is not always possible. However, I felt like the interactions that I had with the staff reinforced the vibe I was getting from the place and shoppers; that somehow, I was not worth their notice as I did not appear wealthy. I am a confident, educated and stable person; I do feel like the mood/​attitude that I was picking up on is not a reflection of my self-​esteem, but is a reflection of what was happening in the store.
Would I recommend Nejaimes? Maybe/​probably; if it were my friends, I would advise them that perhaps the people in the store are not going to be friendly, but the food/​selection is top notch (just be thick skinned & ready to stomp on someone’s foot!). I would recommend Nejaime’s to anyone who had a deep wallet; they will likely be happy with the service and selection, as both other customers and staff will notice them. For myself, I may try it one more time in the future… but I will likely just stick to Spirited on the Lenox/​Pittsfield line for my finer foods needs and Trader Moe’s for my beer needs.

I came in with my partner hoping to purchase a large gift basket for my grandmother. Instead, the woman who worked there followed us around the store asking aggressively if we needed anything until we became so uncomfortable that we had to leave. Really unfortunate – it seemed like they had a very nice selection.

Good selection of liquor and cheese. Decent wine and beer selections. Not much in the way of cigars. Prices are reasonable but not a steal by any means. Staff seems friendly.

Prior to attending a concert at Tangelewood, I did some research and came up with this shop for the purpose of ordering a picnic and wine for the show.
Even though they have 3 locations (which I think the others might be owned by different people), after I got over the confusion of exactly which shop i was calling, I placed my ordered that day over the phone for the Mediterranean Picnic Basket for $ 53 or something like that.
When I arrived, everything was packed up for me and ready to go. I also bought a few bottles of reasonably priced wine from their cooler.
The food for the most part was very very good. The curry chicken salad was great, I wished it was bigger, the salami, cheese and grape leaves were all great. The only miss was the taboule which was 90% parsley and almost no taboule, but it could have just been that batch. The bread was good as well.
Overall, if you are going to Tanglewood and want a place to pick up a nice picnic dinner try this place, because they have great service and very good food and wine.
