La Nails & Tanning

I went for the first time. Place was clean and the girls were friendly. My manicurist did an awesome job. I found a new nail place! :)

My friend and I decided to stop in and get a manicure and pedicure. Pedicures were great! However, I chose a glitter type nail polish and the woman asked me several times if I was sure. A little odd, but they didn’t realize my friend was Vietnamese and understood what they were saying. She didn’t want to apply the polish because it was difficult to get a good coat of glitter on. If they want to keep on insisting me to get a new color then why don’t you just remove the polish from the shelf. Then she started to do my acrylics. She kept fussing with the powder. Seems as though she needed new powder or something because my acrylics weren’t clear, it was cloudy and had spots of white in them. Towards the end, she started rushing the process. My friend said they had food out back and for her to hurry up so she could eat. I wasn’t impressed. My nails sucked. Lastly, my friend said she complained about the amount she tipped them! My friend had tipped them roughly 20% and had ask for a certain amount back for change. Apparently they thought she should’ve let them keep the change. I didn’t want to keep them any longer so I dried my nails for about a minute. Definitely knew they wanted us to leave because other nail salons would’ve insisted on us drying longer. And they were so happy to wish us goodbye. I would’ve gave them a 1 but we did go in on New Year’s Eve so I get it they had plans and maybe that’s why they half assed it.

There is NO TANNING HERE, and it appears there never was… So before you drive 20 minutes to tan, … Don’t. Ive had at least 20 pedicures in my life, so I know I can judge a place pretty accurately based on my previous experiences. The tub wasn’t cleaned before they put my feet in. My sister has sensitive skin and the pedicures the was using a very sharp tool to dig in the side of her nail. She ended up with a cut. The skin exfoliant they use on your feet and legs is very harsh; we both had raw (though very smooth) skin afterwards. The place isn’t attractive inside, has a very nasty back area /​bathroom… I would keep looking. My nails look fine.

Came in for the first time and got a great gel manicure. I’m not sure what the deal was with the other Unilocaler, Anna, but my gel manicure came out perfect. $ 22 is pretty cheap too! The only thing was I wish they massaged your hands like other places normally do. Other than that, I’m happy!

I have been getting gel manicures done at a lovely spot in Wellesley near where I work and wanted to try a salon nearer my home in Fitchburg. They got me right in and were nice and friendly, and my cuticles were trimmed very well with no nicks. They even put sunscreen on my hands to protect my skin while my hands were under the UV (nice touch!).
However, the gel manicure itself came out with uneven texture– wavy in places with the paint getting thick towards the tips. It was quite inexpensive – $ 22 including removing the old gel– but I couldn’t help but wonder if that was because she knew the paint job wasn’t quite up to par. If the technique could be fixed, I’d give a better rating!

I have no idea why this place has five stars. My friend and I both went in for a pedicure and a manicure earlier today and we were very unhappy with the service. The girl who did my nails didn’t even take all of my polish off before she put on the fresh coat. They didn’t sterilize anything before they used it again. The water for the pedicure was a brownish color (and scalding hot, but when I told her, she just filled it with freezing water) and they didn’t clean out the tub before the next person used it. They only drained the water. After they got done using the scrub brushes on one woman’s feet, they turned around and used them on my friend’s without cleaning them. After the nail tech finished my pedicure, I saw that there’s nail polish smudges all over my toes. Once she started my manicure, instead of using nail polish remover on my finger nails, she just peeled it off of my nails, which just tore them up. I have no idea why she did that because it was jus plain old nail polish, not gel or shellac. Then she soaked my hands in freezing water. I only asked for a clear coat of gel nail polish on my nails, but the nail tech even managed to mess that up. Needless to say, I will never go back to this place. It also smells a little odd and looks cluttered and unkempt.

This place is Fantastic! They always remember me when i walk in! There is never really a wait even if they are full! They are speedy, they do the job well, and they are very polite! They even let me switch colors if i need to and help me pick a color close to the ones i used to have when i get my pedicures! They are very talented when it comes to nails! I go there all the time :) Its very relaxing to! They have massage chairs that are very comfy and they are reasonably priced and the bowls glow different colors :) ! They also have a tv in there! They also love there workplace and act like it :) There all very happy nice people! Its very clean and very well organized and once i came in with a cut from working out in the yard and they put like liquid band aid stuff on it! They really care about there customers and care about you :) Love this place! They even have a variety of colors!

First time coming here and will definitely be back! The salon itself is very clean organized and doesn’t smell like a nail salon. I was greeted promptly and sat immediately for a pedicure. After doing some fall cleanup all morning, it was nice to be pampered and relax while having my toe nails done. The business was flowing with customers coming and going throughout the hour I was there. Truly a hidden gem!

Ladies there were super nice and did a really good job. Other places I’ve been my nails would come loose and come off. They do an amazing job and take there time. Staying with them from now on! :)

I have been here twice, it was about 6+ months apart and they had a full house both times. The women who run the salon remembered me and thanked me for coming back they are clearly not struggling for business and remembered me from that long ago, I was super impressed. only get to go here when I visit my boyfriends parents, if I lived closer they would have my business exclusively. They take their time and do a great job the manicure lasts a lot longer, plus if you are into nail designs they have really nice unique options.

I have tried many nail Salons in the area, and I always wind up put up, with too thick nails, waiting endlessly and rushed through when getting a mani or pedi should be a relaxing treat. I found LA Nail when I saw beautiful yet natural looking acrylics on someone and asked where they had it done. Tina, the owner is AMAZING. She takes you at your appointment time ALWAYS, never rushes, never cuts me and does wonderful designs like Burberry plaid! I will never go anywhere else. They are so friendly and always remember your name.
