JC Heating & Cooling

I called JC Heating and Cooling to have a chimney and heating certification done on my property in Buck’s County. The inspection was completed by a nice gentlemen and I received a call two days later telling me that my boiler was improperly stored in the closet near the hot water heater. I was told that they could not certify the system and they would provide me with a quote to rectify the situation.
I could not understand how, just 4 years prior, the seller had these clearances done by certified/​licensed personnel, with little to no issue. A second gentlemen came out to my house measuring the distance the boiler had from the walls telling me it was unacceptable to have the unit where it had been for years.
Two days later I received a call with a $ 6,600 quote to shuffle the systems around and have the adequate space. I was flabbergasted. I guess they thought they could gouge me for $ 6k.
Unfortunately I paid them $ 200+ dollars and never got certified. I didn’t even get anything telling me it wasn’t going to be certified or why. I saw this as a ploy to get money out of me.
Within 36 hours I have two other reputable companies come out to certify the chimney and heat without any issue. While I had to spend extra money, it felt good to know I could find honest people who would not try to rob me for my money.
I would not recommend this company based on my one-​time experience. While they have been serving for 41+ years in the area, I felt like they tried to take advantage of me.

I needed to reply to JC’s comment. First off I never said JC was part of Meenan rather they did the same underhanded tactics. Plus now I know they do not know how to read either. I stand by what I said, JC Heating is just a place to make money with no regard with people’s needs. STAY AWAY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU LIKE GRIEF

Called on a Monday to have someone come out and take a look at my upstairs heating unit and they even called me back same day to confirm. On the day I was supposed to have service, my allotted time came and went. I called to see if they were still coming out and they told me someone didn’t even write up a work order to come out and that they would not be coming out. I don’t even get angry anymore because every business I deal with is just more and more incompetent. I’m just saddened by things like this because you try and trust people are going to do what they say and they continue to disappoint you. It is what it is, No one cares about good business anymore… It’s just the norm…

That’s funny that you can respond to this but couldn’t call me like the lady in your office said you would, I should have known you wouldn’t call me back when you couldn’t even call me back with a price for the part.
I had to call you 2 days later and you said you still had to order it.(meanwhile I’m have a newborn baby in a house with no heat and you lack the professionalism to return my call with a price) no one yelled at the guy in your office & I didn’t refuse your service until your guy hung up on me. why would I give you my business if you conduct yourself in such an unprofessional manner.
you’re a fraud you only responded on here to try and save face. like I said that’s the last time you get my hard earned money?
I did the job myself and it only cost me $ 15 and I think i might pick up the new flame sensor too for $ 12. (you could have did that but you’d rather rip me off and just scrub it with steel wool and charge $ 80 .the exact reason I say you’re a crumb) STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOK

STAY AWAY!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!!! Deceptive Business Practices I purchased a New Heating system from Joe the owner a little over a year ago and Part of the Agreement was that he was giving me a service agreement at NO Charge for 2 years’ signed the agreement and gave him a deposit and he installed the heater a few days later I will get into the quality of work and reliability shortly. The service contract is really where the issue lies. Once the Heater was installed Joe sent out his oil delivery truck to fill my tank with oil, when I checked the bill he surcharge me .70 cents per Gallon of oil, he never disclosed that I called him and questioned him and his exact words where Nothing is for Free you should know that and that charge is to cover the service agreement (that was Free when I signed the contract) but turns out that he is charging me for it on the over inflated oil charge. Let’s get to the quality of his work since they installed the new heater I have had more service calls with them then I had with my 50 year old unit .They forgot to install the pressure release valve for the excess air in the system to escape causing the system to air lock 2 times which stops the heat from working, they have been out 3 times to replace 1 thermostat that stopped working do to the fact they install the wrong transformer to power 3 zones in the house??39 years of experience they should have known how to set this up one would think I have also ran out of oil twice and I am on their automatic delivery AT A PREMIUM PRICE and one of the times there driver can back the next day and tried to fill the tank up again and killed about a 10 ft square of grass in my front yard he forgot he filled it 12 hours earlier and sprayed oil all over the lawn. Joe latest business practice is to mark up the oil to $ 4.35 per gallon and the going rate when I called his office was $ 3.569 per gallon!! this just happened on 3÷5÷2014 I am contacting consumer protection of Bucks County if the owner Joe does not come up with a resolution by 3÷14÷2014 and depending on that outcome I will contact my attorney if necessary he is taking advantage of people and he should not be allowed to do business that way in our community!!!

I think the C stands for crook. I bought a house that had a heater installed by J Crook Heating. When I called to confirm the warranty was still good and transferable prior to the purchase of the house, someone in his office said yes. Well when I needed the heater pressurized and tested guess who said the warranty wasn’t any good.
Now I realize this is not an indication of the work he does, just his credibility. But the fact that I needed the heater inspected for some type of problem should speak to his quality of work also.
