We had a very positive experience here this week. My dog injured his teeth when he was playing and needed emergency oral surgery to extract several teeth. He was in pain and we were very upset. Everyone at VSEC was caring and sympathetic. Dr. Jennings called us twice to let us know what was going on. He was thorough and even though I know he was very busy that day, the conversations were not rushed and he took the time to reassure us and explain what the procedures entailed. He relayed to us all of our options and certainly did not press us to choose a more expensive treatment plan. I actually believe he supported our decision to extract the teeth rather than spend a lot more money by trying to save them. I felt that he was just letting us know what all of our options were so that we could make a reasoned decision. While I regret that my young dog has lost some teeth, I’m confident that the decision was correct under the circumstances.
While the bill was expensive, the treatment that we received was top-​notch and I felt that my dog was in good, caring hands. And honestly, while the procedure was costly, I can’t imagine it would have cost less anywhere else. I highly recommend this facility to anyone with a pet emergency.

Dr. Dzienisiewski and Dr. Chapman were extraordinarily helpful during a very difficult time. Their caring, professional, manner was exemplary.

I can’t say enough great things about this vet. My dog had surgery to repair a torn acl and meniscus and prior to the surgery, Dr. Agnello met with me and talked extensively about the surgery and the recovery. The staff called me throughout the day of the surgery to inform of the progress and give me an update on the condition of my dog. My dog was back to running and jumping 4 weeks post op!

Could not have asked for better communication/​kindness/​thoughtful medical decision making. An excellent experience during a terrible time of losing a beloved kitty Ziza. Many lengthy, clear conversations along the way, exploring options with specialists, revisiting results, helping us make the hard decisions. We felt Ziza was very well cared for, really could not have asked for more other than a medical miracle.

Great people who take care of your furry family members at a moment’s notice. The staff here is so good, I’m mustering the energy to give them all the stars even though I’m exhausted and totally ready for sleep. Thank you to everyone at VSEC who helped when one of our pups started showing some signs of pain. The facility is modern, very clean (no easy feat I’m sure) and big. The staff are numerous, polite, knowledgeable, and true animal lovers. I knew our fur baby was in goods hands, and he is now on the mend.

Words cannot express how lost we are without Princess. The entire staff was so kind and professional — very helpful.

VSEC is an incredible and highly specialized animal treatment center. My french bulldog was in a horrible state and needed very special care. I am so thankful that I found this center, and Dr Eagleson in particular. Along with his team, Dr Eagleson performed two serious spinal surgeries on my dog. The care that the entire office provided for him before, during, and after, was incredible. They understand how emotional and awful the experience is for pet owners, and equally care about your animal family. From the folks that took my pup out for his walks and fed him, to the nurses, anesthesiologists, receptionists, and surgeons; all the staff deserve praise and recognition. I am very thankful and appreciative that VSEC exists. Thank God people like them, and places like this exist, for emergency and special care treatment.

I have so much trust in the doctors and staff at VSEC! Around March-​April of this year, my cat Tiger started developing a lump on the right side of her chest areas. We knew she would likely need surgery, so my family and I decided to make an appointment to consult with VSEC, as they have previously taken excellent care of one of our other cats. During the consultation with Doctor Popovitch, she told us what we feared — it was cancer and Tiger would need surgery — the next day! Needless to say, I was terrified. At this time, in June, Tiger was 15.5 years old, and me being 21, we grew up together and she is my baby. Talking to Dr Popovitch changed all of that. She was so confident and intelligent, and took the time to explain the procedure to my father and I, including what to expect before and after. She helped calm my biggest fear, which was that Tiger would be too old for the general anesthesia (she wasn’t). Since Tiger has anxiety with being in public and becomes very angry and aggressive, VSEC even allowed for us to schedule her as one of the first appointments the next morning, so that she could come home to recover as soon as possible. The next morning we brought her in and a couple hours later my mom and I went back for her. Although she was disoriented and probably a little uncomfortable, her recovery was remarkable and we didn’t come upon any speed bumps or road blocks. This cat is very special to me and I can never explain how thankful I am to this place for taking such great care of my favorite little creature! Luckily, 4 months have passed and Tiger is still doing great. Her cancer hadn’t spread and so far, the lump has not made any signs of returning (knock on wood!) All her hair has grown back now as well, so she’s my same spunky little 16 year old! Thank you to VSEC and especially Dr. Catherine Popovitch for giving me even more time with my kitty!

Came here when my kitten got very sick by the time I got there she had already passed they very quickly took her away and got me in a private room and gave me the bad news, they told me not to worry about payments to go home relax thing about what we wanted to do with her body and to give them a call whenever everything calmed down. Very nice people with very kind hearts. Thank you so much everything!

Wonderful experience in a difficult time.
Our dog was sick. Our veterinarian suggested an ultrasound to rule out cancer.
They recommended VSEC.
It is a large facility with easy access to the highway. When we arrived for our 2:30p appointment, we were greeted by a friendly receptionist. She had us fill out paperwork. Then a nice nurse asked us some questions. A short while later they took our dog back for the ultrasound. Only took about 10 minutes. After that, they brought us back to an exam area for a consult with a very nice doc. We though the worst when they brought us back. The doc came in and told us no cancer. It was a tick born infection which our primary vet had already started treatment. Paying for treatment was just as pleasant.
Overall. From beginning to end. Something that could be a terrible experience physically and emotionally was made good by the caring and friendly staff at VSEC.
I’d easily go there again, but GOD… I hope I never have to.

Update: Took Cat to the regular vet in the AM. Vet said he wasn’t given adequate pain meds. Leg casted, shots given. Cat is still alive.

I took my dog Dewey to VSEC at their prior location about 10 years ago and Dr. Orsher performed the removal of cancer from my dogs leg sparing him another year of life so I was grateful. I brought my second dog here a little over a month ago to see the Dermatologist Dr. Spiegel. Dr. Spiegel was extremely nice and patient with Sydney. He diagnosed my dog on the spot which I trusted but obviously she required a biopsy. He prescribed my dog the basic medications for her condition Pemphigus. My dog did not respond well to medication and I did call a week later about her vomiting. They gave me different ideas to try to resolve the issue. I took her back to see the nurse two weeks from the first appointment and we waited an hour. However, I didn’t mind the appt was quick and they cleaned Sydney up brushing and trimming her nails (she couldn’t bathe with stitches and her skin condition caused crusted scabs and peeling). She had lost 4 lbs so Dr. Spiegel was concerned prescribing her a nauseous medication and advising I see internal medicine. He said from the beginning there could be underlying issues to Pemphigus so this further supported that statement. A week later she was doing better not vomiting from the medicine he prescribed her. However, she unfortunately did not make it– treatment of medications, baths and a cone she hated was very difficult for her being an older dog 12 yo. When she passed my family took her to VSEC because I trust this hospital over the rest. I am writing this review because of the after math of it all which made me feel at ease and gave me a peace of mind with the loss of my beloved dog. Dr. Spiegel returned my phone call twice to discuss what had happened in a very understanding and compassionate way. He had a long conversation but in short he told me about her prognosis being difficult with many more tests to come due to underlying issues but he also comforted me telling me there was nothing else I could do. He reminded me how she had gone on her own terms and in the comfort of her home and my arms was a best case scenario. I felt closure to her death after speaking with him because he listened as I shared her final hour and gave me feedback on possible causes. I was so appreciative of him taking the time to talk.
Overall rating VSEC the environment was clean, very big and welcoming atmosphere. The front desk staff are considerate and were very helpful. The two nurses I interacted with seemed very compassionate and answered all of my questions whether in person or on the phone. Dr. Spiegel was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to and understanding. I highly recommend VSEC!!!

VSEC was there for my cat on a Sunday, and they provided excellent care, all done smoothly and with great kindness. The receptionists were helpful, the waiting room was large and airy and even had complimentary coffee. It was a bitterly cold day, but one of the ladies came out to the parking lot where I was gobbling down a quick lunch to tell me the doctor was ready to see me. That was going beyond the call of duty, as it was about ten degrees outside. The follow up telephone calls were appreciated. and the cooperation I got regarding getting me paperwork I needed in order to file a cat insurance claim, was helpful, indeed. I would recommend VSEC in a heartbeat, to anyone in need of emergency services!

I waited two hours past my appointment time to see the dr. The ophthalmologist I saw was very thorough and seemed knowledgable. He suggested major surgery for BOTH of my dogs eyes even though she only has an ulcer in the left one. I feel uncomfortable operating on an eye that’s never had a problem as a preventive measure. So, regardless I did try to go ahead and schedule surgery for the one eye… called on a Saturday and was told the dr schedules his own surgeries so I needed to leave a message. Tuesday, still hadn’t heard so I called again. Was told the dr returns calls on Thursdays. So Thursday I called at noon, 2pm, 4pm and 7pm. Squeaky wheel gets the grease right? My dog was in pain… and I’d waited almost a full week just to speak to someone about making an appointment. (The desk staff was extremely nice and patient with me.) I finally got a return call at 11:30pm. The dr told me I could come right then to get blood work, or the following Thursday, but he couldn’t fit me in for surgery for three weeks. Seems to me this dr is stretched too thin and overworked. Took one week to get a phone call returned which was done at almost midnight. Then three more weeks after that to get into surgery? So a month my dog has to stay in pain waiting on the dr? No. Thanks. Went to Cares. Got an appointment AND procedure done within four days. No two hour wait times, a quarter of the cost, and the people were exceptionally nice. I chose Vsec based on reviews… and this time my beloved reviews let me down miserably.

Our 10 month old boston terrier, mini cooper, developed a corneal abrasion. Our primary vet placed him on 10 days of drops and medication. After the 10 days it had gotten worse. When we took him in for a recheck they said he needed surgery immediately and there was a 50% chance that he would lose his eye. They said they could do it tomorrow or we could go to a specialist, but it had to be asap. This was 7pm in the evening.
We got home and immediately started to call around. No one was available to give us any information. We finally called VSEC. The representative we spoke with was Taylor. She was very nice and said we could bring him in as an emergency. We weren’t sure we wanted to do that. About a half an hour later Taylor called back. She has spoken with Dr. Reinstien their ophthalmologist. They advised that we bring him in immediately and she would come to operate tonight if he needed it.
Their emergency vet looked it over and discussed the findings with Dr. Reinstien. They decided to treat it medically overnight. She looked at it the next day and determined he didn’t need surgery. An infection was eating away at his cornea. After two nights there and continuous antibiotic therapy he is ready to come home today. I have received several calls from Dr. Reinstien updating me on his status.
I want to thank everyone at this facility for saving mini cooper’s headlight. Taylor went above and beyond reaching out to Dr. Reinstien. Dr. Reinstien has been so responsive and amazing to work with.

I wasn’t able to get a straight prognosis on my dog’s cancer and the path forward from my vet. VSEC was able to give me the options, cost, and outlook. Everything was explained by the vet, and a written summary was given to me for review. I got the straight up answers on the state of Chemo for dogs. The answers were not what I wanted to hear, but at least I didn’t feel like I should spend a lot of money for diminishing returns.

Best vet I have ever been too, I went in with a badly injured dog and was minutes from putting him down. They were very compassionate and empathized with me as if my little nugget was part of there family. We decided to have the surgery done which meant A LOT of follow up appointments and lots of sleepless nights. We called the hospital at all hours of the night and not once did any of the nurses give me a hard time. They thought every question was a good one. I so appreciate everyone that works so hard at VSEC.

While it will never be easy to talk about the passing of my beloved Marley, VSEC made the day as comfortable as possible.
At the request of our family vet, Marley needed an abdominal ultrasound due to vomiting, constipation, and lack of appetite. We hoped that it was just a hairball. I was able to make an appointment for Saturday on a Thursday– I really appreciated that they were able to fit us in.
We brought Marley in, and were quickly greeted and checked in. They took him back for the ultrasound, and we waited for the results. We were taken to a room in which we would meet with the doctor.
Dr. McCloud came in and gave us the devastating news– that Marley had a mass in his large intestine, and that it was exceedingly likely to be cancerous, as there was fluid present in his abdomen, along with growths on his spleen. While this was actually the worst possible thing that anyone could have told me in that moment, my husband and I appreciated his candor and honesty. He was patient when we asked him to repeat himself countless times… because we just couldn’t process it.
We had to make the impossible decision to euthanize him that day because surgery was not an option to make his life better. Everyone was so kind and caring– we were given the opportunity to spend as much time as we wanted with our sweet Marley before he was given the injections. Everyone seriously was so patient with us, despite my inability to really do anything but cry hysterically.
Just a few days later, we received a sympathy card from VSEC. While I am still completely unable to come to terms with the loss, I appreciate the kindness and patience from everyone at VSEC. They even offer a pet loss grief group meeting, which I hope to be able to attend.
I hope that my surviving cat and any future animals that I own never run in to any serious health problems, but if they do, I’ll come back to VSEC.

I was referred to Dr Bossbaly, a Veternarian Cardiologist (and one of the primary owners) at VSEC because she was recommended by my pup’s primary Veterinarian Dr. Cohen. I brought my little 4.6 lbs rescue dog to VSEC because this Center was highly recommended. My little guy was diagnosed with a heart murmur by Dr. Cohen’s group and I wanted to have a full evaluation of my little Angel. Well, post-​procedure for a Cardiac ECHO my dog, Thaddeus, has been limping for approximately 2 months due to an arterial and IV puncture from VSEC Levittown. This is after a distressing 2.5 hour evaluation that I was never involved with nor ever invited to participate in. Oh, and after the 2.5hr evaluation, my little guy’s Cardiac ECHO cost me $ 965.
I want you understand that I’m a Nurse Anesthetist who specializes in Cardiac abnormalities and my partner is a Pediatric Hematologist so medical treatments are understood and expected. Please also understand that all post procedural telephone conversations to VSEC were essentially discounted and very defensive to say the least by Dr Bossbaly and her Veternarian Tech staff. In fact, my partner and I spoke to her both once on the phone and after that she relegated any other phone transactions to her Vet Tech staff.
Then, upon your refusal to accept any responsibility for our pup’s ailment, we had to take him back to our Vet and he recommended Meloxicam for his limp. This created a GI bleed, vomiting up blood and bloody diarrhea! I, for one, really find that unacceptable since I literally had to carry my pet from tree to tree outside for walks to «do his business» for two weeks after the visit and then had to have expensive consultations for rehab for my little guy’s limp! Now, over 2 months later, his limp has resolved but the amount of money, time and stress to myself and my little guy is just unconscoiusable.
I understand that small dogs (he’s a schnoodle) have cardiac issues; but, to also create a limp that occurred the very next day and then deny that it was caused by your care is just unacceptable!

Thankfully I’ve only needed to use VSEC services a few times in my pets’ lives but I’m glad that they are here. I was informed that they have been in this new facility for about 2 years now as they outgrew their old one near the Neshaminy Mall. It was longer than that time when I last needed their services but I recognized the name, and they still had all of our old records on the computer for my dogs which now are 13 years old each.
Each time I’ve needed services was late at night, so there really was no waiting time in the large and very clean waiting area. They have multiple TVs and coffee for those who want it. The professional and friendly front desk staff were very helpful.
Being late at night, my dog was seen quickly, and the doctor came out with the report which was explained to me in one of the many care rooms behind the front desk area. Everything went as well as could be expected with a sick dog pooping all over the place (thankfully not in my car to get here!) I got some meds, a can of wet dog food, and probiotics. The doctor suggested some foods to give my dog and her 2 «brother» dogs at home who also were feeling the pain. My wife and I were too from cleaning up after the 3 dogs, but that’s another story.
It is now a few days later, and my dogs seem to be much better!
This same dog had 2 knee operations when VSEC was at the old facility, and my other dog had x-​rays done years ago when we thought he broke his leg. The care my dogs received was top notch, and I’ve never had an issue with any of the staff. They all really care about the quality of life for the animals.
I will say they are not cheap, but it is emergency vet care. My couple hour visit a few days ago was $ 200. The knee surgeries several years ago were $ 1500 each. Absolutely well worth the cost. They make you sign papers as soon as you walk in so be prepared that emergency care can be costly.
