Taranto’s Pizzeria

In town for a long weekend with the kids. Looking for a sit down local pizza shop. Found this place on Unilocal.Best decision we made all weekend. Pizza was excellent, wings were supper, but the Stromboli was out of this world.
Our waiter Dave was great, very informative and entertaining.

Awesome awesome awesome! We discovered this while in town for a soccer tournament. What a gem! Small town atmosphere with huge menu. Everything is so fresh. But the best part was our server David. He made the whole experience so fun with his awesome personality, quick witted personality and attentive serving skills. Definitely will be returning when we are in town again.

Tried this place because I saw a bunch of good reviews but felt compelled to leave a review because it was not what we expected at all. We ordered buffalo chicken and the pizza was just flat. Not sure where the chicken is. There was none! Also ordered plain pizza and it had barely any sauce, literally couldnt taste any sauce at all. All I can taste is dry overly dense dough that’s burnt. I really don’t have high expectations for pizza, but I would rather have dominos than this place.

Incredible GLUTEN FREE pizza. Thank you for the wonderful and safe for celiacs gluten free pizza. I drove 25 minutes to try it… and I will be back!

We had a stromboli and it was excellent. Pepperoni, salami, mushroom. The cheese was excellent. The crust had something special on it. It might have been garlic butter, I liked how it is a friendly neighborhood place. It was our first time here, but other customers knew each other. Service was kind of slow, but the wait staff was friendly. I definitely go again. Next time I want to try the lasagna and Carfagna’s Italian wedding soup. Both of those look good on. the menu but I didn’t get a chance to try them.

Good pizza. Even better wings! Pizza is better than average, and the wings… oh my goodness, the wings. They are HUGE!
I sometimes work in the greater Columbus area and I always come back here to get my gluttony on. Thanks Taranto’s for the few extra delicious pounds!

We went to this place after seeing the wild lights at the Columbus Zoo. We had an entertainment book coupon for buy a pizza, get a free pizza. My family and I loved it! We sat in the all season room, which is a great place for an event by the way! When looking for a new pizza place to try, do check this place out! I only wish it were closer to home for us, but my family and I live in Southwest Columbus.

This place has good pizza! I would say anything you order is going to be fantastic. Probably top ten easy.

This is the place I have been looking for since I moved here. The hand tossed crust is amazing. The sauce is perfect. The pepperoni and banana peppers were delicious. The bread sticks are thick and full of flavor. Only complaint is I asked for zesty ranch and I’m pretty sure this is regular ranch.

Finally a pizza place whose order takers understand the basic concept of fractions. Wife wants something on ¼ and I get my toppings on the other ¾. Despite my offer to pay full price for all toppings Some places act like it takes knowledge of Quantum physics to know how to divide a circle into parts. Tarantos our new go to ace for pizza

It was tough not to give 5 stars because the Pizza was soooo good and well worth the $. It was also delivered right on schedule. The only complaint I have is the guy (Tyler, I think) that took our order. He was not friendly and seemed bothered by us. He literally grunted on the phone when we asked a question. We did order on a weekend so maybe that is why???

This place sucks! I ordered delivery, took over an hour ordered spaghetti and meatballs, this is definitely not an authentic italian restaurant! The spaghetti noodles were over cooked, and no sauce it was pretty much overcooked noodles, meatballs were just ok. I asked for red crushed peppers 3 times, did I get it no! Ordered my son chicken parm same thing over cooked noodles and no sauce barely, my other son ordered stromboli, looked weak compared to other places, I spent with tip almost 50 bucks! Ridiculous, wish I would have never ordered here, only good thing is they brought me a six pack of beer DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! YUCK!

First time here but won’t be the last! We stopped here after a long day at the zoo. The pizza was good and the crust was very tasty with a nice chewy, garlic finish. We look forward to the our next visit and maybe that will be the time we try the Taranto-​saurus :) !!!

This is easily the best local pizza shop in northern Columbus. Probably my second favorite in the state. The ingredients are fresh, everything is made to order. The pizza is amazing & their subs are great as well! The staff is very friendly & the menu is reasonably priced. They offer dine in, delivery & pick up. The atmosphere is awesome and worth the sit down. :)

Amazing #glutenfree pizza. Family owned and such a welcoming place! Great job with meeting our GF needs. All bellies are happy!

We were having a luncheon meeting at work. Folks were sitting around trying to decide where to order pizza for the meeting. Somehow, I was «appointed» to choose since nobody else could. So … I pulled out my smartphone and looked up local pizza shops on my Unilocal app. I tend to prefer the more local businesses. Taranto’s was one of the pizzeria’s that showed to be nearby. We ordered nearly a dozen pizza’s, some specialty and some create your own, through their web site. Ordering was easy. Quite reasonably priced. Although they do offer delivery, the order was placed as pick-​up. The pizza’s were ready for pick-​up as requested … hot and fresh with a wonderful aroma. The staff loved it! Fresh ingredients. Great sauce and crust. Thanks Taranto’s!

The staff was great. We had a very large group, so I was surprised that our drinks were refilled quickly and the food all came out in a timely manner and was piping hot. The new addition looks great and allows for a larger group.
Try the garlic bread with cheese… if you like buttery garlic bread with delicious oozy cheese (and, really, who doesn’t?), you won’t be disappointed!
The pepperoni pizza looked and smelled fabulous. I had the Italian sub, it was delicious and packed with flavor. The Cajun Buffalo Chips were tasty… my girlfriend loved them with cheese!
I will definitely be a regular here!

I’ve ate here many times, from taking the kids and the whole family or simply having it delivered. This is far and away my favorite Columbus pizzeria. We have many good pizzerias here, but this is the best imo, simply because of their terrific pizza and downhome welcoming feel.
Service — The staff is friendly and courteous. Delivery has always been on time, by the «time promised» on the receipt. The last time we went in, our two kids made their own pizza by being able to pick a shape, adding the sauce/​cheese/​toppings. Very cool experience for the kids!
Food — terrific! I prefer the thicker crust, though my wife prefers the thin. Both are fantastic! Last time we were in, the owner mentioned to us that they’re working on a gluten free pizza. I would recommend a number of their appetizers — buffalo chips, wings, boneless wings, mozzarella sticks. Also, our last kids birthday party included a huge, massive pizza (called the Taranto-​saurus I think) that was a big hit.
This is a must try for anyone in north Cbus or visiting Polaris. The side porch is currently being added and looks almost finished. That’ll be a terrific addition for the spring.

Delivery is never on time, the pizza is always undercooked, the employees are high school students. This place is just terrible.

I am writing this as I sit and enjoy a super hot, fresh piece of Taranto’s Pizza! I order from here a few times a month on days that I really don’t want to go out to get lunch. They have delivery — and it’s fast!
Their pizza *looks* similar to, say… a Donato’s pizza. Thin, crunchy crust, lots of toppings. The sauce is a nice sweet/​tangy mix. Their cheese is perfectly baked. And the cheese & cheese/​mushroom & veggie pizzas I have had were NOT a greasy mess like some places.
Their prices are pretty awesome too — $ 12 and some change for a Lg Cheese pizza.
I also LOVE that they have ONLINE ordering! It allows me to stealth-​order my lunch and put in my card number without worrying if the weirdo on the other side of my cubicle is going to jot it down and buy women’s under britches with it later.
