History

Established in 1987.

Our business was established in 1987 as a video store (VHS tapes) and a C-​Band (10 foot dish) Satellite TV sales and installation store.

The current owners, Karen and Duane Shelato purchased store in 1993. At that time the store was selling about 12 satellite systems a year at an average cost of $ 2,500 each. Soon after that the small dishes became available and we are doing hundreds a year. Today we have over 2,500 customers in central PA.

My family and I moved to Mifflin County over 30 years ago. I worked in management at Falconer Glass and then at Overhead Door before we purchased Sky View Video in 1993. Because the small dish business didn’t start until the mid 90s we were in it from the start.

I have installed systems from the very first one offered to the latest and can answer questions about any of them.

During a typical week I may be in Mifflintown, Port Royal or East Waterford one day then in Potters Mills the next and then in McClure or McAilsterville the next. Any time I’m in Belleville I try to make a point of coming back to town the back way over Jacks Mountain to McVeytown. I never get tired of the scenery in the 7 Mountains region of PA.

The Satellite companies have found that local dealers like us handle a lot of the front line questions for our customers so they make sure customers gets the same great offers locally, and that keeps everyone smiling.
