History

Established in 1984.

Based in Lexington, Kentucky, Bates Security is a family owned and operated business that had its beginning in 1984 when Sonny and Pat Bates purchased the Lexington Sonitrol franchise. Sonny, as a former Dallas Police Officer, knows the fundamentals of providing security and has built a solid security company on based on them. He has also developed a strong customer service culture at Bates Security where customer satisfaction aligned with the best security is our primary goal.

At Bates Security we place focus on providing security to homes and businesses as a SERVICE, not just equipment that is installed and left for you to use. We created our LOCAL Customer Service Center to emphasis the importance of customer service where a team does nothing but service the day to day needs of our customers.

We were the winner of the Security Sales & Integration Magazine’s Installer of the Year Award for 2011 and Commerce Lexington’s Small Business of the Year for 2013.

Meet the Manager

Manager

Crystal Newton joined the Bates Security team in 2010 as Business Development Coordinator. Since then, she has devoted her job duties to creative digital marketing, sales report management, public relations, promotional and employee event planning and was promoted to Bates Security’s first ever marketing coordinator in 2012. She was recently awarded with the National Achievement Award from the Sonitrol National Dealer Association for Top Administration.

Crystal is a graduate from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. She is an active member of the Bluegrass Crime Stoppers, the Citizen Police Academy and the Lexington Young Professional Association.
