Light delicious eating! A simple menu that’s hard to pick from, because of the great choices! The daily specials will keep you on your toes.

This place is pretty simple. Pick a sandwich from about half a dozen options and pay at the counter. Definitely a quick lunch. I tried the Asiagio Pot Roast as recommend by the cashier and it was amazing. Its on a french roll toasted, the meat was moist and the roasted red pepper sauce on it pushed it over the top. Absolutely delicious. I also tried a bite of the Friday special, pulled pork and that was also a winner. Both sandwiches highly recommended!

5⁄5 for Dad’s. I love their cheese spreads and the daily specials are incredible. Scout out their menu and be sure to get there before the lunch rush if you can. Personal favorites are the pulled pork BBQ, Mac n cheese, and tacos. It’s been a year or more since I last reviewed Dad’s. Food quality has remained top notch, service is fast, restaurant is always clean, and the workers are great. A must visit if you want to see a favorite(and very affordable) spot for the locals.

Absolutely great food and service. On your first visit they allow you to sample their homemade cheeses and you will often see«Dad» walking about and talking with guest. Try anything with the beer cheese.

This may be my new favorite sandwich place! This is the perfect example of «Do a few things, but do them well.» The food was delicious(try the tomato soup!), the atmosphere great(check out the pictures on the wall-all photos from«Dad’s» youth), and Dad himself: this man loves what he does and it shows. You won’t be disappointed!

Chipotle cheddar roast beef, substitute Swiss: Classic RB sandwich & au jus, with a kick of chipotle spread. Chicken sausage tortellini: surprisingly flavorful. I highly recommend it. My friend got her grilled cheese with the green chili jack spread, and was raving about it. The atmosphere is very low-key and the price is pretty low. They also have ale-8 in the fountain if you’re into that(which I am).

We’ve been wanting to stop by and try out Dad’s for some time. With their short hours(lunch only), it’s been hard, but today was the day. We walked in an were surprised at how spacious it is inside. We expected a dinky hole-in-the-wall place, but it roomier than we expected. We walked in, grabbed a menu and quickly decided what we wanted. They have a regular menu which lists the 4 or 5 sandwiches they make every day and a daily special menu listing the specialty item(sandwich or salad) that they make on each day. We ended up ordering a club for my wife and I had the green chili jack smoked turkey sandwich(on wheat). We got them to go and headed back to the office. Both were great. Tasty, fresh and filling. While we were waiting for our sandwiches I caught a glimpse of the chili. Man, it looked great. I think I’ll be back to try a cup soon. I’m glad we finally stopped by.

The sandwiches all look so good. I had the veggie in a lettuce wrap with pimento cheese. It was just what I wanted. The boys with me had the Friday pork BBQ special. Also excellent. We had sides of salad, Mac and cheese, and tomato bisque. They let us try all of their cheese spreads and I am going to buy 2 of them. They are so good!

Been here a couple of times and had a few different things. The everyday sandwiches and soups are okay. If you go I recommend any special they have that day. The food probably wavers around 3 – 3 ½ stars but this place gets four stars because the service is AMAZING! The most friendly and attentive staff you’re probably going to see in Lexington. You can tell they take great pride in their service. Also very quick. Even though I’m never in a rush to go back I’m sad that I don’t work near this place because I would probably eat lunch their most days.

Luckily I came on a Wednesday where the daily special was their take on a Cuban sandwich. For $ 7 you get a good sized, incredibly delicious specialty sandwich! The staff were very friendly and helpful too, I’ll be back soon!

Had lunch there today. Extremely friendly staff. Fast service. The restaurant was clean and had ample seating. One of us had the asiago pot roast sandwich(me). It was great. I asked for them to go light on the house sauce and they, in fact, did. I loved the roasted red pepper sauce that was served on the side. The other of us had a smokey pimento BLT and she said hers was great, too. There are three things that I look for in a lunch joint:(1) good food;(2) fast service;(3) ample seating. Dad delivered on all three. Can’t wait to go back.

Pulled pork was awesome! The mac and cheese was amazing, and proves bacon always makes it better! The cheese platter for us first timers was a great sample of the spreads and the service was friendly and knowledgeable! No negatives at all so 5 big stars from me!

This place is so good. I’ve been to both the Lane Allen location and the downtown one, and in both areas the customer service is fantastic. My first time one of the guys offered me a free taste test of all of their cheese spreads, which was great. My least favorite would honestly have to be the beer cheese, and that’s only because I prefer my beer cheese warm and more of a sauce consistency. I’ve tried multiple sandwiches as well as several of their specials and the only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the potato soup. The sandwiches are solid — whether it’s the pot roast, pulled pork, club, chicken salad, whatever! The Mac and cheese side is tasty and has a nice kick, the tomato sauce that comes on the side of the pot roast sandwich is something I could just drink by itself. Seriously, if you want a great sandwich this place will not let you down.

Cheese… Wonderful delicious cheese. I was promised amazing cheese spreads before coming here and I was not disappointed. Dad’s Favorites make all of their own cheese spreads. They don’t fool around with silly cream cheese and sour creams but instead use real grown up cheeses. As a first timer I was offered the chance to sample each of their amazing cheese spreads and every single one was delicious! Their pimento spread is fantastic. I have to say this because I despise all pimento cheese spreads I have ever encountered in my life before this but Dad’s pimento cheese spread is one of the tastiest things I have even eaten. I actually ordered their every day Pepper Jack Club. This sandwich was fantastic. I was in such a rush to enjoy it I forgot to take a picture of its grandness first. The restaurant itself was crowded and loud but that is to be expected at lunch. Otherwise it was actually very clean and the staff(most of whom I believe were family) were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely eat again here in the future!

I’ve noticed Dad’s Favorites at the Farmer’s Market, but I’ve never stopped to try any of their cheese spreads. What a fool I have been! I stopped in at the downtown location for lunch with some friends, and had a great experience. The manager was offering any first-timers the opportunity to sample all of their spreads for free. And let me tell you, they were delicious! I’m not a big fan of chipotle or pimento, but the spreads that contained these ingredients were awesome. I ordered the pepper jack club sandwich, and it was great; full of turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and the pepper jack cheese spread. It was the perfect pairing of flavors. There were a few drawbacks, but I can overlook them: the hours(only open for lunch), the shop is rather small(it’s crowded and can be loud), it’s downtown(parking sucks), and the prices are a little high($ 6 or more for just a sandwich). Regardless, it’s definitely a place I’d go back to again and I’d recommend you try it as well.

This place has the best pimento cheese. This is not regular pimento cheese this is delicious, speciality cheese, pimento cheese. The pepper jack and Asiago are my favorites. They are both tangy and bursting with cheese flavor. This is grown-up pimento cheese. They do have daily specials. I tried the Cuban and it was tasty, but not the best in town(have you been to Old San Juan?). Everything they put their version of pimento cheese is going to be good. There is also a staff member offer free samples of their various products, even when they are busy. Great place. They are only open for lunch.

I’ve been wanting to try Dad’s for a long time after hearing rave reviews about the food. I had sampled some spreads this summer at the Farmers market and fell in love with the pimento cheese. It had a unique smoky flavor and I just knew I was headed for the pimento BLT. This is the newest location which is just opened for lunch. It’s a small quaint restaraunt so it could get crowded at the 12 o’clock lunch rush. You can eat in or take it to go. We ended up getting there around 1 or so and it wasn’t too crowded. As I was placing that pimento BLT order the cashier said have you tried the farmhouse special which is their Monday special. I hadn’t. It was chicken salad and pimento cheese and he said I know you may not think to put those flavors together, but it was one of most popular sandwiches. I ventured out and tried it. I’m so glad I did. There was just a small layer of the pimento cheese on the bottom slices and it surprisingly meshed well with the chicken salad. The staff was friendly and the owner was there serving and greeting guests. I will definitely be back to try more of their specials. They do sell some of their spreads in the local Kroger and Liquor Barns.

Ate here again and had the Rachel this time. It was still wonderful food, but two things: the sandwich was overpriced and the strange smell remains. The sandwich was $ 7 and that’s just a sandwich on regular-sized bread, no chips or side included. I would think maybe $ 4 – 5 would be reasonable for such a sandwich. With a drink my meal was $ 9. Super tasty, loved the sandwich, but the price was steep. The inside of the restaurant smelled as strange as last time. My whole group commented on it. We can’t figure out what it smells like. Maybe a combination of burnt cheese and vinegar?
