Here is a quick over view: Service – lacking Meat – dry Fresh baked pitas – freaking AMAZING garlic sauce – pretty darn good. Seriously these are the best pita breads I have ever had. Usually they are dry, crumbly and not flavorful. These were fresh, moist and tasty. Best part of dinner. And you can buy them to take home with you.

We just discovered this place a week ago and can’t believe how great it is! We got«carry out» for the first time last Friday evening and it was soo good that we went back for lunch the next day!!:) The owner, Sammy, is beyond helpful and just wants to provide THE best customer service ever! The only thing that exceeds the service is the quality of the food! The hummus is THE best that we’d ever had. It was so fresh and flavorful! And the pita bread is freshly made on site daily… ours was still warm when we got it! And the chicken shawarma is amazing. We can’t say enough about this restaurant! Just try it and you’ll go back again and again!

Our meal was very tasty. The Greek salad had a delicious homemade dressing and a lot of veggies. The falafels were freshly made. The chicken in their chicken gyro was one of the most tender cuts of chicken that I have had. The pita bread was soft and is made at the restaurant daily. The hummus was awesome. The staff were very friendly. I would recommend trying it!

I was surprised to read other’s reviews about poor service at Darna! I’ve been here twice and both times the staff were friendly and quick to provide service. The first time I got a chicken shawarma sandwich, fattoush salad and hummus. The sandwich was excellent, the meat tender and juicy and the bread is the best of any Mediterranean place I have found in town! The hummus is solid, but I was underwhelmed by the fattoush salad. The second time I came I got a chicken shawarma platter and the hubs got a kofta platter. He loved his, but surprisingly mine was very dry. Such a contrast to the sandwich I had. Overall I wish they had some more options for sides, and the meat is a little hit or miss, but the price is right and it takes care of my shawarma craving.

I came here on a Tuesday night around 7:45pm with a friend for dinner. I’ve been wanting to try this place out as its close to my house and I love Mediterranean food. This place is located in what used to be Furlong’s. The restaurant was completely empty which made me nervous to think the food was the issue. Boy, was I glad to be wrong! The FOOD was so DAMNGOOD!!! I was so pleasantly surprised that I kept ordering other things to try out. I’ve read a lot of the reviews on here and that also didn’t help my nervousness at first. But as its been said, don’t judge by what others say, go and experience it for yourself. My friend ordered the vegetarian plate and he absolutely loved everything, his plate was literally licked clean. I had ordered the mixed plate which came with 3 variously prepared meats: Shish kabob, kofta kobab, and chicken kabob, it came with two types of rice and some fresh warm pita bread. It was so delicious, and I love my Mediterranean food. I compare all to Sahara’s as that’s my favorite of all. But this place is hand in hand with Sahara’s restaurant. Once people realize just how good this place is, the restaurant should get busy. I then ordered the Arayee just because I’ve never seen that on a menu, and it was delicious just as well. The owner was so nice, he gave me a free side of red cabbage salad, and some sauces to enjoy with my meal. Everything was just excellent about my experience here. You’ve got to come check this place out!

I’m afraid that I had a very similar experience as previous diners. It was almost like they didn’t want my business. When you are impatiently asked«what do you want» and you haven’t even gotten a menu, that’s just bad service.

Like many reviewers, we had a mixed experience. The positive part was that the food was amazing. Rivals Sahara for sure. Hummus is a bit spicy, baba ganouj was nice and smoky. Falafels were okay. Meat was outstanding! All juicy and flavorful. Garlic sauce wasn’t really that garlicky but I think most people like it that way. The biriyani was perfect and moist. We asked about the four person platter and were told it was huge. Two adults and three children we figured it would work great with some left over. We have enough left to feed us all two more meals! I’d easily say it could feed six to seven adults that are really hungry. Huge! Big understatement. To the neutral/negative part there was really only the waitress. She is young and was a bit abrupt at times. At first she came off rude but I think it may be a cultural difference or she’s just a bit socially awkward(like many people are). After a few minutes of observation we realized that she was very sweet and attentive if a little different than we’re used to. She loved the kids and gave them a lot of attention and was more patient with their messes than the cow who was glaring at us from across the restaurant. Over all, it’s definitely worth visiting because the food is excellent. The service just takes an adjustment but that happens with family restaurants. Apparently they used to be King Tuts over near UK if that helps anyone.

They gave me a plate of dry meat without any seasoning and added some dry rice. For this I paid 11.00 dollars. The meat was really gristle filled and left an awful after taste. It was not good. It was supposed to be beef shawarma … It was not good. The side item? Two servings of rice. One lady worked the front, took my order then accepted my money. Someone kept changing the tv channel and settled on bear grills. I left when he murdered a turtle. Luckily my appetite was already spoiled.

I had the shawarma. My wife had the vegetarian plate. We’re both really fond of Mediterranean cuisine and this little place did not disappoint.

The food was excellent; however, the service was not. Ordered waters to drink. Had to get up and find someone to get our waters. Server didn’t notice we didn’t have anything to drink even when she delivered appetizer. No thank you from server; no apology for having forgotten our water. Felt like we were doing her a favor for being there. I always leave a tip; not this time. Left a note instead. Probably will not go back.

The food was shockingly poor, nearly inedible. We tried the shawarma with a salad. The lettuce was wilted and awful tasting.

We ordered beef shawarma sandwich and plate. They were disaster, the taste was awful. Beef smell and taste was terrible, also rice and bread were cold.

THISFOODISAMAZING! Every time I go to a new place, I like to try a variety of items to get a feel of what’s good and what misses the mark. We ordered the hummus, falafel, chicken shawarma, and kabob plate. Everything tasted fresh. At first I thought the staff was ignoring us after we were seated by not taking drink orders, but then I realized that this is a family run business with staff doing multiple tasks around the restaurant. There is only one menu per table and you pay up front when you leave. They also gave our daughter some fresh pita to go to pack in her school lunch since she loved it so much! Friendly staff and great food!

We were so excited to try this place, but didn’t get the chance. We were seated and there was only one menu on the table. We left after waiting for 20 minutes without being acknowledged whatsoever. There were only five other tables in the restaurant, all except one had already gotten their food. No one so much as offered to bring us more menus or take a drink order. No one spoke or acknowledged us as we walked out either. We are all so disappointed because the food looked incredible, but we couldn’t get anyone to let us try it.

Awful! Once we were seated it took almost 20 minutes to be acknowledged, then another 10 before we could order. The atmosphere wasn’t very inviting. We changed our order to go. Food was almost as bad as the service. Very disappointing.

Having only been open for 45 days I was unaware of this new restruant. My date and I were pleasantly surprised. This family run restruant was warm and inviting. I could taste and appreciate their unique flavors on the traditional menue. We will be back.

Positives: Chicken shawarma was amazing! It was juicy(generally chicken is dry) and the rice, both types, were delicious and buttery. The taziki sauce was not overly garlic-y but did add a wonderful flavor. The Kibbeh was great as well, it was juicy but not oily, although I do wish they brought out a side of taziki sauce to dip them in. The Kufta sandwich was flavorful and not too large of a portion. The bread was great as it was not traditional pita bread so it didn’t rip or fall apart from the juices. Side bonus — they actually play Arabic music. Negatives: One word — Service. When we walked in it was about 11:15am and this older gentleman(whom I think is the owner) did not even greet us, as a matter of fact he stepped from around the host stand to stare me up and down almost angrily. I’m not sure if he was unhappy to have customers so early or what but I had to be the first to speak and ask to be seated. It was uncomfortable and started off the service in a pretty awful way. I recommend they learn how to be pleasant to all customers regardless of the time of day. Our server was ok but seemed very new and nervous. Tabuleh was off, tasted like vinegar was in it which is weird. The dolma they claim to be slow cooked however it is obviously from a can(which I can’t say I don’t like b/c I do love the canned dolmas! but they need to advertise correctly). The Vibe: They still aren’t totally done setting up, the inside looks just like Furlong’s(whom they took over from). I’d cut them a bit of a break because of how new they are but if they don’t fix their service this will become a place that only gets carry out requests. All in all I’d rather not go back to dine in, but would totally order the chicken shawarma again!

Stopped by during the soft opening and was not disappointed. The owner made me a plate without me placing an order. It was a wonderful mixture of chicken and beef topped with fresh spices, rice, hummus, and a few sauces. It was amazing! The stuff was very friendly. Looking forward to returning soon.

The food is great it comes in big portions. Very delicious everything was cooked on a wood grill which gave it that affinity taste.
