Actually no stars, this company is not honest at all. In addition to scamming me in a textbook buyback transaction and claiming I sent in a different book therefore leaving me without my expensive book or the money I could have earned from selling it for future semesters, your customer service department seemed completely unapologetic in the matter when I tried to reach out to fix the issue.
Do not do business with this company. They do not practice ethical business.

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! This was my first time to rent through them. I ordered my book on Friday, on Monday I got an emailed stating my order had been cancelled. I called to see what was the deal; and this is where I received my bad customer service. The lady was rude. My order was being cancelled due to not having capital letters in the check out process. She kept repeating the system is sensitive. But what she wasn’t understanding is they took my money!

I would give zero stars if that were an option. Beware if you are ordering a book online and need expedited shipping. They charged me for 2 day shipping, and then when I received my order confirmation email, it stated that my book would be packaged and ready for shipping within 3 days, and that it would be shipped via 2 day shipping. This is quite a misrepresentation and I cancelled my order immediately. They then told me that the order was being fulfilled by a 3^rd party, Ergode Books to be specific. Ergode was asked to supply me and Ecampus with a tracking number (or the order would be cancelled), but they never did. I revived the book a week after I paid for it. Ecampus will not cooperate with helping me get a refund and Ergode books seems to have disappeared. I cannot recommend
for purchasing textbooks.

Completely unacceptable service. I would give it less than one star if I could. When ordering the textbook, I emailed customer service to ensure the textbook would actually ship out the next business day. I was told that it would absolutely ship the next day and I should receive the book in 3 – 5 business days. I called today, 11 days after I ordered (6 business days) and they informed me they hadn’t even shipped the book – it is still sitting in their warehouse supposedly. Who knows if they even have the book in stock. I plan on cancelling my order, which I’ve heard is also a difficult process.
All in all, they offered a good price on the book, but the low price is absolutely not worth the hellish service offered by this establishment. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to buy from a reputable store. Also I strongly suggest if you’ve had a negative experience, please please please file it with the BBB. Their rating should reflect the horrible service they offer.

Utterly pathetic. Don’t even think about doing business with these people.
First lie: In stock books typically ship within 24 hours. (That is if you order before 11AM Central time)
Second lie: We have the book in stock. (They didn’t)
Third lie: After the forth day — Sorry that shipment was delayed, but its scheduled to go out tomorrow.
Forth lie: After the sixth day — The book is delayed coming in from our vendor.
After six days they finally admitted they didn’t have the book in stock and they have no idea when to expect it. This was after four contacts with customer service that isn’t easy to get hold of with long wait times. That just doesn’t work.
They debit your card immediately, but when you cancel your order, it takes them four days to issue credit. Get a load of this: «We will make every effort to cancel your item (s). Please allow 24 business hours for your order to cancel as your item (s) may be scheduled to ship today. Once we confirm the order did not ship and we are able to cancel the item (s), funds will be transferred back to your credit card within 2 – 3 business days.»

worst customer service ever. the person in the chat room literally ended the chat session when they couldn’t answer my question and no one will ever answer the phone. don’t buy or rent from this place. you will get screwed by them.

Agree with the previous reviews. I would put less than one star if I could. I purchased a textbook in May 2015 from ecampus. That was all fine and dandy. I thought it would be the easiest to sell it back to them at the end of the Summer when the class was over. I used my original May order and copy and pasted the ISBN from that order into the buyback quote. It gave me a price and I sent the book to them. About a week later, I received an email saying that the book they received had an ISBN that didn’t match what I said I was sending and in addition, the book was «water damaged» and they would not be able to buy it back. For $ 10 I could have the book sent back to me.
I called their customer service. The person was very nice, I’ll grant that. But I asked her how the ISBN could not match since I purchased the book from them, that was the ISBN on my original order. She said what I really bought in May wasn’t that ISBN. So basically they sold me something in May that was a «water damaged» book but charged me for a non-​damaged item. And only when I went to sell it back, did they alert me to this fact. I told her I thought that was pretty shady.
She did agree to wave the $ 10 charge to send my book back to me. But I’m still very confused how I paid for a book in May with one ISBN, but they now tell me that what I sent was a different ISBN and it’s water damaged. It’s the SAME book!
Oh well, I give up. I will never buy or sell anything to them ever again. I do not like the idea that they originally sold me a different book than what I ordered and paid for and only when I went to sell it back did they alert me to this fact. Shady shady shady.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. First time I did they sent me the wrong book. I was given the correct one in time. My property book was sent back with coffee stains on the outer pages of the book, which did NOT have any effect what so ever on the actual quality of the book. They charged me 150.00 to my account without warning. When I called they said the book was unable to be rerented. Really? Why did you keep it then? It was then sent back to me to resell, which I was able to without any complaints from the buyer. Beware of this place! They are just trying to overcharge you!

DO NOT BUY E-​TEXTS OR LABS FROM THIS PROVIDER!!! Entered the ISBN for a BIO 1408 book to get the online text with online labs. Was redirected BY eCampus to another ISBN which was «the same», it was not. The labs for my course were custom so the code I purchased did not work. eCampus refused to refund or provide the correct codes. They stated once the codes were opened they could not refund, BUT without opening and trying the codes there was no way to know they were wrong. They have sent me around to about a dozen people and now they will not answer emails or they transfer me and leave me on hold indefinitely. Would not buy from here again.

STAY AWAY! I sold a book on ecampus. I shipped the book as requested by the buyer. When I inquired about my payment for the transaction, I found that Ecampus had refunded the buyer. I received no notification of the pending refund and no email saying the transaction had been cancelled by the buyer. Customer service offered no help at all and stopped replying to emails that showed the textbook had been shipped. So now the buyer has THEIR money and MY book. I am out $ 88.00 AND a $ 130 textbook. This company is not reputable and does not practice ethically. I would suggest using another company for ALL purchases or sales of textbooks.

I rented a book for a summer study abroad program in May. Received the book in a decent time frame, however it was the wrong book. The isbn sticker/​barcode was placed over the original isbn/​barcode and did not match the original which i found for myself on the publisher page (at this point i have no time to order a new book and had to leave without it).
they refunded my rental fee, i printed the return label, and dropped the book off at the UPS store i always use, down the street from my house. I left for my program and didn’t think about it again. In august (THREE MONTHS LATER!) i got a notice they never received the book and ecampus took 132 dollars out of my account while i was disputing the issue with them. pretty terrible experience.

I ordered a math textbook with online access code for abt $ 110. They sent me the wrong math textbook and no access code. I found the book they sent on their website selling for $ 80.
Contacting customer service by email was useless. I only received scripted responses from their representatives about their return policies. It was obvious that the reps never read my email explaining the problem.
I telephoned and spoke with a representative who immediately tried to resolve the situation but was unable to do so. She sent me an email telling me that her supervisor was insisting that I return the book (thus incurring postage costs and a 10% restocking fee) rather than simply receiving a credit for the difference in what I had paid for and received.
I responded to the helpful rep’s email but I was never able to reconnect with her. Instead, each of my subsequent emails was addressed by different «representatives», each of whom offered conflicting or erroneous information. One actually told me that I had received the correct order! This was not true as the ISBN number on the book I received was not the same as the ISBN of the book I had ordered. That I had received the wrong item had already been confirmed by the company!
This was a simple matter. I was willing to keep the textbook I received as long as I received credit for the access code that I had paid for but did not receive. I did not want to incur the additional expense returning a book that I had received solely due to the company’s error.
After two days of trying to resolve this with the company, I finally threw up my hands and contacted my credit card company.
I will never do business with this company again. Buyer beware.

The only reason I am giving 1 star at all is because they happen to have had the book I needed, and the website I usually go through (Chegg) was out. This was by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Long story short, they charged me full price of the book I had after I sent it back to them 13 days late. Apparently, if they get it before the 15 day late period, they will reimburse you HALF of the cost of the book (for the NEW price!). Let me remind you that this book was VERY much in used condition. I sent the book back 13 days late (not 15 or more) and STILL have not received the $ 88 reimbursement they told me I would get. Every time I emailed them at the beginning of this issue, a different person would respond. So when I finally called them, I asked where I could go to fill out a formal complaint (because they don’t tell you about what their «late fee charge» actually means when you order the book… unless you read the VERY fine print on the Terms & Agreements page). It’s incredibly misleading and SNEAKY! He literally said there is not anywhere to make a complaint, but that his supervisor would call me back within 24 hours. Well, 2 days later I get a 5 minute message from a «Supervisor» only reading off what that fine print said. (I guess this has turned into the long version, sorry!). It boils my blood that this company is not here to help students find affordable books… they are here to make money off of students, simple as that. It’s quite disgusting. With all the other textbook rental sites, they charge you maybe at the most a $ 3-​$ 15 late fee, and they send you an email confirmation when you send their book back using their prepaid UPS label. Ecampus doesn’t do any of this. I will NEVER use them again.

DO NOT RENT BOOKS FROM THIS COMPANY!!! E campus has charged my account $ 400 claiming I didn’t return my books when they were returned a month before they were even due!!! After going back and forth with this company for days now, they STILL refuse to refund my money. They are not even making an attempt to LOOK for my «missing» books!!! I will never rent from this company again and advise every one else not to as well. What a horrible experience!

The initial rental price was not bad but the customer service is horrific. I purchased one book (because it was not available for rental — hmm if they can sell it to me why cant they rent it to me?) and rented another one for my class that was one month long.
The book that I purchased came over 2 weeks late. That is half of my class that I was without the main text. So I emailed customer service and they said that my book had been delivered on «this date». I already knew that! I was hoping for a credit because it was 2 weeks late! Later, a $ 20 credit did appear on my account and when I tried to use it to extend the rental of the other book, it did not apply. So I figured I would just wait and see and eventually end up purchasing that book and they would apply my credit. Just like redbox, I assumed that if you return a DVD (or book) late, you know what your purchase price will be. They do not just make one up and charge you. BIG MISTAKE. They will charge you DOUBLE$$ than the purchase price of the book if you do not do it on your own. They call this a «FORCED PURCHASE». Nowhere on their site did I ever see anything about this policy. When I called, she said it was too late to do anything but if I returned it ASAP they would give me about $ 30 back.
Also, to extend a rental is more than the initial rental price, even if you only want to extend it by 15 days. This is not like other companies that you can extend a rental for way cheaper.
The $ 20 credit (which was not even half of the price I paid for the book and I got it halfway into my class) which mysteriously appeared on my account after customer service basically told me to take a hike is only for purchase of new books or sweatshirts/​apparel as I was told my the customer service (after calling because the credit did not apply). So I cannot use it to purchase a rental I already had out or to extend a rental. I was never told this. And since I will not be going back this $ 20 was a waste to me. I cant use the $ 20 towards ANYTHING! I dont want a freekin ecampus sweatshirt!
So bottom line, customer service policies suck, the prices are WAY HIGH to extend rentals, and if you are a day late on returning one they will charge you a FORCED RENTAL fee which is almost DOUBLE the buy price you see in your account.
Go somewhere else!
FYI she said they are changing their policies soon so they will not even let you return after a forced purchase for a fractional refund. So, they are making their policies worse…

I would honestly like to rate this company 1 star, but I found there price to be way better than the bookstores here in town and on campus! After placing my order, I waited and waited. Its already the second week, and according to the tracking number it is still on east coast and Im in AZ. Really! It takes two weeks to ship one book! It is fortunate that I don’t have exams till next week. I would have rented from Amazon, but they were completely sold out of this book.

STUDENTS BEWARE: DO NOT SHOP WITH THIS COMPANY. Worst customer service. Completely unreliable shipping times.
I purchased my book 3 days after my class started, the delivery time was said to be 3 – 8 business days. It was 16 days later when i decided to call Ecampus and find out what the delay was.
Turns out they didnt even have to book in stock and were waiting for it to come in to the warehouse. They couldnt even tell me if I should expect to receive my book 1 week from then or 3 months from then! For all I know, i would receive it when the semester was over.
They were so quick to charge my credit card over night, but they were unable to give me an expected time frame of when THEY would receive the book from their vendors.
SO as a result of their failure to run a business, I was unable to complete multiple assignments and didnt do as well as i would have on an exam IF I had my text book during the time frame their site states.
SAVE YOURSELF!

More like a 2.5 star but that rating is mostly due to a bad experience with customer service, which I won’t go into much detail about. If we were able to rate on different portions of the business, I would rate them a 4 star on their pricing structure as I found a few books new /​used having a better rate than some of the more well known outlets for college books.
I placed an order the other day after finding them via Google, weeks after the spring term started in 2013. Realized after ordering they also carried another book I was in need of. Tried contacting customer service regarding the order to see if I could append the order and add on. Let me tell you, I was on hold over thirty minutes to inquire about that order and ask a few other simple questions which could have been answered on a more thorough website. Attn: Webmaster, FAQs (frequently asked questions) are a must on any website offering services.
After my conversation with «customer disservice», I realized it wasn’t so busy that I needed to wait the thirty four minutes but couldn’t share why the wait was there. If having another book to order, its best to create a new order. She couldn’t tell me whether books carry a per book delivery charge or it could be bundled. I understand that some book sellers have other companies under their wing, so orders can be sent out from multiple places. In regards to the two books I needed they both would arrive from the same place and both needed to have separate charges on delivery. Not cool. I decided to go with Amazon instead. The same day before my phone call, I sent an email as well. To this day, a response has never been received. I can share from my own experience working in a shipping facility working on a grander scale, if I came across the same client belonging to an email /​order as a phone call. We would still make contact to make sure the case was closed. Providing correct information whether by phone or email. That’s customer service. «I don’t know» doesn’t work. «I can find out for you», does work.
*Update. I just checked my email and there was a response from customer disservice five days later. Advising that I should place a new order for the book since orders that have already been mailed and processed are no longer able to append. «Really. no shit. For real?

I bought a textbook online from this company. They sent me the completely wrong book.
Instead of going back and forth with e-​mail and shipping, since I live in Lexington I decided to just go down and handle this exchange in person.
Well, although their online inventory said it was in stock, they didn’t have it at the store or their warehouse in town. They said they would have to special order it (which they already said they had in stock).
About an hour later, I get a call from their warehouse: they «found» one copy of the book. I drive across town to perform the exchange and get the right book, with only a flimsy apology about the book being misshelved to explain why I was shipped the wrong book and why I was told it was out of stock, only to have a copy appear later.
It was going to be a 1 star review for shipping the wrong book and then being unable to exchange it for the right book without waiting days for it to be restocked.. .but actually managing to get me the right book salvaged it up to 2 stars.

This is the most unresponsive company. You can not reach a person via email, chat or phone call. They charge much more than the books are worth, and on a rental, if you decide to purchase the book, it ends up costing you much more than if you would have paid if originally purchasing. Stay away from this company!!!
