History

Established in 1992.

Kreations by Karen florist was established in August 1992 in the Zandale Shopping Center at 2220 Nicholasville Road in Lexington, KY. Each year we continue to grow and have become one of Lexington’s top florist with the best flowers and great customer service. We also offer a variety of other options too. We were voted Best Florist in Lexington in 2011 and 2012.

The business owner is originally from eastern Kentucky. She graduated from the University of KY with a business degree. Her first job was at a hometown florist at the age of 15. She next went into banking after college. Then later decided to buy a flower shop in Lexington, KY

I had a truly wonderful experience with Kreations by Karen. I live outside the area and was a bit apprehensive in choosing a florist, but the rave reviews of Kreations by Karen are right on. First, unlike other florists I’ve done business with, Kreations by Karen sent a prompt delivery notice email when my flower arrangement was delivered (just a couple minutes after I received the delivery email, I had a text and picture from my friend saying that the surprise flowers had arrived). I was so impressed with this, as with other florists I am often left wondering whether my flowers have actually been delivered. More importantly, though, the arrangement was simply gorgeous, and the two teddy bears I had also purchased were sweetly attached to the vase. It was the perfect arrangement, and I will happily do business with Kreations by Karen again in the future. If you need flowers in the Lexington area, you should definitely check out Kreations by Karen. (This is also the first review I’ve ever written on Unilocal,and the great service by Kreations by Karen is what inspired me to write!)

I’ve always driven by this flower shop in the Zandale shopping center but never had an excuse to go inside until today. I spoke to Karen about what I was looking for — possibly a potted plant or a nice bouquet of flowers for a thank you gift. She was very helpful, offering me suggestions, and even showed me a book of different types of flower arrangements. She picked out a very pretty bouquet of purple and orange flowers and told me that it could be ready in about 30 minutes. True to her word, I came back and the flowers were ready. I couldn’t tell you the names of the flowers since I am useless in this department, all I can say is that they were thoughtfully arranged and the price was reasonable. They also deliver for an extra $ 10 fee. Karen and I chatted a bit about her being a florist and The Language of Flowers (a beautifully written book about the meaning behind flowers) and not only has she been a florist for decades, but she is very personable too. She went the extra mile as well — she put the vase in a special box for easy transport and suggested I put the seatbelt around the box, and even held the door for me and offered to take the flowers to my car.

I can’t comment nor do I have a clue on the pricing. I will review based on the beautiful flowers that I am so lucky to have received from here. The lillies are always fresh and beautiful, with several buds that haven’t yet bloomed at the initial time of delivery, so that when the some blooms die out there is still more left to bloom. Lillies are not only my favorite flower, but they last longer than most flowers. I highly recommend Kreation by Karen and lillies.

Ordered a sympathy planter online for a funeral in Lexington. Called today to make sure they could figure out where to deliver it because I was unsure of the exact location of the ceremony. Phillip was so friendly and helpful. Way to take care of customers!

I called Kreations by Karen based on other Unilocal reviews — I needed to send flowers to a friend and I don’t know anything about the Lexington area. Talked to Karen around 9:30 am and the flowers were delivered around 1:30 pm that same day. I received an invoice, as well as an email notification once the flowers were delivered. She was very friendly and helpful. So easy to place an order over the phone and worked within my budget.

I needed to send flowers next day for a funeral in Lexington, KY (I don’t live in Lexington). Found Kreations by Karen via a Google search. Glad I did. The Website was intuitive (very similar to a lot of the FTD florist sites). Since I wanted to make sure next day delivery, I called them about noon. Actually talked to Karen. She was very polite and helpful. Assured me the flowers would get there and even said she would send me an automated delivery notice (which she did).
Pricing was reasonable, service was great, delivered on time and completed the transaction in under 10 minutes.
