History
Established in 2000.
Lamon Vanderburg Harkness had a passion for the finest things in life including silver, crystal, boats, and horses.
In 1894, while pursuing his life passion of horses, L.V. purchased Señorita Stud Farm and renamed the 450 acre parcel Walnut Hall, near Lexington, Kentucky. His keen eye and uncompromising tastes transformed Walnut Hall into the foremost Standardbred breeding and racing establishment in the world. While working to improve the Standardbred breed, L.V. was also sailing around the world on his yacht, Wakiva, searching for and acquiring fine objects to adorn his homes.
Today, his great-granddaughter, Margaret Jewett-Leavitt, owns 575 acres of the original farm and has made L.V. Harkness into a one-of-a-kind luxury shopping destination.
