Quality Inn & Suites

I give this 5 stars due to the 2 wonderful employees of this place. I stayed here recently and it is going through major renovation. That took away some of the appeal in itself. HOWEVER the girl at the front desk, Alex I think and the housekeeping manager Tom made up for this and made it a pleasurable experience. I had a concern and and to speak with Tom as it said he was the manager on duty. He immediately addressed my concern and took proper action. It is wonderful that it seems all managers here have the authority to make decisions. Other places only the office manager or general manager can. Alex who looks no older then 16 had the most beautiful smile on her face, was very professional and apologized profoundly even though it was not something should could control. The personal attention from both of them was great. They helped us figure out places to see, gave directions and even gave us a promotion code for über which ended up only costing us $ 8 to get back from Boston! If you have any issues definitely make sure you bring it to their attention. If they can help they will and will even go beyond.

This place is a dump. Filthy, bugs, cigarette burns in the sheets and in need of a gut job. It also appears that there are people actually living there. Stay away from this place. It’s really too bad because the location is good. Wish I could give zero stars.

The only thing that saved this from being a one star review is the breakfast being absolutely awesome for a hotel like this.
I arrived the a family of 5 and checked in after my inlaws (2 others) did. My family (me, wife, 5 year old, 4 year old and 1 year old) then try to check in and get held up for an hour and half due to the rate we confirmed through Choice (the parent company) Hotels being a rate no longer in their system. they had my name and reservation, but could not process it because of the rate I booked. This makes no sense since i had a confirmed reservation. The issue with Choice had nothing to do with me and they still would not give me a key for over an hour as they talked on the phone with Choice… again, something that should have been done on the backend and not involve the guest. What were you going to do? Not give me the rate? Of course you were… imagine the press you would get from turning away a family with a 1 year old after a 6 hour drive. So I do not get the wait at all. To make matters worse the guy «Gerard» acts like he could care less about anything. At least the manager on the phone «Patricia» acted like she really wanted to get this over with and help, even though they need to re-​evaluate the procedure in how to handle a guest in this situation. Luckily, my toddler did not break the lobby while we waited.
The rooms were OK, they need updating. The water temperature is inconsistent, but it is nice to have a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Some mold was seen on the window curtain and the heat in the room did not seem to want to work, despite temps being in the 30’s at night.
Why 2 stars? the breakfast. They have pretty much everything and it is hot and fresh and goes for 4 hours. I liked the home-​fries and eggs especially. My kids liked making waffles in the waffle maker. At least our days got off to a good start.

This hotel was surprisingly clean and well equipped. Microwave and refrigerator in the room, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The wi-​fi was good. They have flat screens but not HD channels, so watching tv was like being in the stone-age.The only reason I did not give them a 4^th or 5^th star is the front desk staff (both when I called and when I arrived) was not very friendly. It almost seemed like I was annoying them by being here. But after Check-​In, I don’t see them anymore anyway.
I did not get breakfast here so I cannot comment on that.

A place for truckers and travelers only.
Nice staff. Terrible manager, who would not come out of the back office to speak to me. Instead, he hid and made his workers carry our conversation to and fro.
I renewed my hotel 3 days into my stay because the price quoted to me remained low. When I was checking out, I asked for my deposit but was told that because I had been mistakenly undercharged, I would not be getting it back. I understand, mistakes happen. But if that had been the case, I would have moved to a different hotel, closer to the city. But instead, I suffered tremendously traveling 2 hours to and fro Boston every day (to save money) only to not even get my deposit back. A deposit is insurance for damages I incur. It has nothing to do with mistakes the company makes. Very unprofessional and immature response by the manager.
My cousin and I also got food poisoning from the breakfast on two separate occasions during our 6 day stay.

I am stunned at the pleasant experience at this hotel. I stayed for nearly 2 weeks, and the discount I received on Expedia ($ 67-​$ 75 per night) was worth it. I would not pay anymore though. Due to the price, I will return for regular visits, if the location can make several improvements.
Pros:
1). You can use the gym across the street and attend the classes, use the weights, pool, tennis courts, etc. Yay!
2) Hot breakfast with good options, which the staffs replenishes and keeps clean.
3). Some rooms are updated– new sinks and counter-​tops
4). There is a restaurant in the parking lot, if you get a late-​night craving.
5). Microwave/​refrigerator in the room **
Immediate areas of Improvement:
1) Wi-​fi disconnects frequently or does not connect– MAJOR PROBLEM
2). Too much noise from trucks and people speeding through the parking lot
3) Clothing irons need to be replaced– they are old and do not iron!
4). Spray for spiders
5). Cable channels were not consistent, and did not always work
The manager was VERY concerned and ensured my room was satisfactory before I checked in; front-​desk staff is decent, and the maintenance was very accommodating, as he was adamant about getting me an iron that actually operated.

Poor quality room but good stuff. They changed room after we complain on bad heat. But new building rooms with old bathroom outdated TV very small, not for children. We changed room 3times in first no heating at second not hot water in third and final the water in Bath, took hall night to empty the bath. The cables of ear conditions were uncovered. It horrible hotel. The breakfast poor… We will never visit this hotel again.

STAY AWAY, staff care more about throwing parties and not helping guests as well as theives!
The several computers in the front lobby work so so, BUT not one working printer, accept to send your personal items to their email, and then hope and pray you get a copy.
Something that would have taken me all but 10 minutes took OVER 2 HOURS, getting upset, I’m ORDERED to leave the lobby while this old ugly woman points her finger in my face, then calls the cops on me to get me off their property. all along keeping my money and credit card information.
COMPLETE LOSERs, if this is how they treat me, can only imagine how they would treat the next person; they are all phony as hell!

They did not let us have the medical discount for my 3 year old she had surgery at Lexington children’s hospital then on top of it did not except my coupon was there for 2 days and my daughter woke up with bites all over her back don’t ever go there

Great place to stay, these bad reviews do not do justice to the superior service and place to me. They have renovated a lot since I came here last in 2011. The service is certainly better and the staff seems happy. I am glad to see them moving in a positive direction.
Would love to come back

This place is kind of creepy. It used to be run under a couple of different names and it was pretty good. The fact that they call it QUALITY Inn is very ironic. Not much quality. One of the lowest prices around but you get what you pay for.

One star is too high. Reserved a non-​smoking room, was put into a smoking room. Rooms and facility are poorly maintained. This place would be good for filming what a «hotel» should not be.

I wish I looked at Unilocal before booking this. God it was awful.
First, they gave us a smoking room– which I didnt think would be bad because I figured they would wash the rooms before entry but I felt like I walked into an ashtray. It was terrible. Smelled awful.
The shower was gross.
The beds had to be slabs of concrete. They had to be.
NOTHING was in walking distance. AT ALL.
And on top of that, they just accidentally charged my boyfriend an extra $ 150 for the hell of it. It was a bitch to get it returned too. Please dont ever go back. It was awful.

I should’ve probably looked at Unilocal before I booked this hotel, but I gave the benefit of the doubt as I don’t usually consult Unilocal for hotels.
Quality Inn Lexington was my hotel during my stay in Boston. It has easy access to Alewife Station since the highway is just off the street, and there’s excellent restaurants within a 10 minute drive radius (see my review of The Bancroft). I was willing to sacrifice that with a stay in a 2-​star hotel and not having the best amenities, but maybe I should’ve reconsidered.
The check-​in process was smooth, and honestly the only reason why I didn’t give this place 1 star was the service. They really tried to sort all the problems I’m about to list, but at the end I still didn’t have a satisfying experience.
When we arrived in our room, we noticed there was a giant furnace blocking our doorway. Therefore we had to ask the concierge for a second room. Initially she said the hotel was all full, but she managed to switch our room with someone else who hasn’t arrived yet. I was then told there was a rainstorm last night and the ceiling in that room leaked, necessitating the emergency repairs. We got our new room, and everything overall went okay that night.
The next morning, we had our continental breakfast in the lobby. The variety was okay, I’ve had better but I’ve certainly had worse. The dining area looks refurbished, as I found it to be the nicest area of the hotel.
When we returned at night, we noticed nobody did housekeeping in our room! All our bed sheets, pillows, etc were left in the exact same place as we left them. This was actually the second hotel that I had the unfortunate experience, the first being Clarion in Seattle (ironically also under the same Quality brand). We talked to the concierge and he did find some bed sheets, pillows, and towels for us to use for the night, and he told us he will write a note to the housekeeping folks. We also wanted to talk to the manager, and we were told he would be in tomorrow morning.
Morning came, and we went to the front desk to talk to the manager. Unfortunately the concierge said we’re not allowed to talk to the manager unless there’s a previously arranged meeting, so we ended up voicing our concerns to him instead. He seemed understanding, but we were not convinced our concerns would be forwarded to the manager. At this point, I just didn’t care anymore as I only had one night left of staying. That night, housekeeping did clean the bedsheets, gave us new towels, and do our beds. A definite sigh of relief considering the events the night before.
So after my tumultuous experience here, I will echo the 2-​star rating here. Good service, decent food, but everything else ranged from unmemorable to disastrous.

Good location — nothing walkable, but it was in close driving proximity to Lexington attractions. The city of Lexington is well worth the visit, especially if you have kids, but if you have any historical interest, the city (and Concord) are both worth at least a half day if not longer.
The hotel itself felt more like a motel than a hotel, which is always a design feature that bothers me. The rooms open up to the parking lot and so doesn’t have much buffer between cars, people, and your room. That also means easy parking and access to your room though, so that’s a plus! The room is dimly lit and is clean, but is very dated. The a/​c is reliable, the bed is okay in comfort, the room is mostly clean, bathrooms are dated but clean. The water pressure is very low, with low quality shampoo and conditioner, although the lotion was good. The room is pretty small but it has everything you need — big bed, chair with ottoman, desk, TV (standard, not flat).
It was an okay value ($ 110). They have a hot breakfast (which is a huge plus since a lot of hotels do continental) — they have rubbery eggs, but overall they have a wide selection of breakfast items (waffles, pancakes, sausages, sausage patties, hard boiled eggs, eggs, scrambled eggs, yogurt, muffins, cereal, juices, coffee) and the hours are pretty long 6−10am, which is pretty awesome if you’re on vacation.
They also have free wifi which is always a plus, but there is no secure login. All in all, probably worth the value but not sure I’d stay here again for longer than a night.

The staff was friendly the, the price was great, the breakfast was decent. After that the room itself was horrible! This is by far the worst hotel we stayed at on our vacation and the only one we had booked for 2 nights the room was nonsmoking, yet reeked of smoke & just a musty order. The lock on the door was lose, the carpet in bad need of being ripped out. Nothing about this room appealed to me. If we hadn’t booked and paid for in advance we would of left this hotel.

As per my usual review style I will start with what was right, and gradually get to the horrors that awaited once extending and upgrading to a suite.
The price was absolutely perfect at $ 110 a night for a standard non-​smoking double room, and $ 159 a night (with a great promo for the length of stay!) for a king suite with a seperate bedroom and kitchenette. The customer service staff are spectacular, courteous and friendly, and prompt with damage control with a smile (damage control they seem to have mastered so props for the customer service hiring manager, not so much for the housekeepers though, while friendly nothing is really veey clean). One learns quickly however that there is merrit to the phrase you get what you pay for.
The double room had a mini fridge and a microwave which was a happy surprise, but the fridge didn’t work and there was a puddle in the freezer section. There were crumbled pretzel bits under the bed skirt and what looked like the raspberry syrup from the pancakes on the sheets (more on cleanliness to come!). The shower has an amazing shower head and the water pressure is out of this world, however the temperature of the water remained steadily unsteady for both of the days we were in this room; at times it would get so cold the hot function would need to be turned up, at others I was left to realize how far up I needed to turn up the hot water to compensate. Waking up to a breakfast I didn’t need to pay for was another happy surprise as the complimentary hot breakfast wasn’t listed on the third pary site my husband had originally booked through. The powdered eggs were wonderfully rubbery in some parts, and strangely sandy and moist all at once in others, while the sliced egg loaf menaced me from afar (I simply couldn’t muster the courage to poke it with the tongs and explore further). The sausage links yesterday morning were a touch off color (probably just from steaming nothing to fret over) but were tasty, the hash browns were generic but also tasty. There was a selection of breads, bagels, danish, and pastry, along side a make your own belgium waffle station and a weird machine that spits out pancakes at the push of a button (seriously it’s like an ATM of pancakes); I can not speak for these items personally as I have celiac disease, but my husband assures me the «scrambled eggs» were the high road in the dining area. The coffee was nothing to write home about, but would give your local IHop a run for their money.
After staying in a double room for 2 nights we upgraded to a suite for a longer stay and were very happy with the look and size of the room. The floor in the kitchenette was decidedly sticky, but neither I nor my husband gave it much thought. We checked in at around 6:30pm and around 7 I ventured into the bedroom to finally check out the king size bed. I sat against the headboard for a few minutes and when I got up there was a HUGE bang from behind the headboard (I’m 5’9″ and a size 4!) as it had come detached from the wall! Maintenance was prompt when they came to reattach the headboard which was a plus, and with a wall shaking rumble, a few new anchors and a lot of dry wall dust sprinkled onto the pillows they didn’t switch out for us, that particular mishap was handled. Once the dust settled my hubby and I sat back and watched some tv for a while before finally heading to the grocery store before it closed. When we got back around 10:30pm and were putting our spoils away, we finally went in the cabinets to look at what type of cookware we had only to find.. . (DUN DUN DUUUUN) that the cabinet housing all of the pots and pans had been used as an ashtray by the previous occupants. This is only our first night in the MUCH LARGER room, but I’m sort of missing our cozy little double room with the broken fridge and the warm little freezer puddle to splash around in.
ADDENDUM: this morning I decided to run every last dish in the suite through the dishwasher (I KNOW RIGHT A DISHWASHER IN MY HOTEL ROOM! and it came equipped with cascade for the dishwasher and Palmolive for the sink) and when I opened the ashtray drawer to take out the pots there was a think, greasy, brown, ring under it that looks like a cross between dried up chocolate milk and motor oil. Quite frankly I’m more than slightly surprised this place isn’t over run with cockroaches. It’s now been over two hours since I showed the front desk staff the picture of the ashtray cabinet and asked that it be cleaned, and my husband has called THREE TIMES. What’s worse is neither he or I even smoke cigarettes we only booked a smoking room so I can take my prescribed medication! And when I showed the concierge the picture she asked if I WAS SURE that it wasn’t me who put the butts there in the first place!!!

I am sitting in the parking lot looking forward to our stay. I only hope it is as great as my check in.

The worst experience ever
To start when I arrived around 4pm (check in is at 3:00pm) the room was not ready, she told me to wait for about 10 minutes and the room was ready aprox. 25 minutes later, to complete the beginning of my stay, I believe it was the manager, apparently he had a bad day because he was with an attitude which I didn’t like it. The welcoming was rude and unpleasant. once I go to the room first to be honest I was expecting 2 QUEEN bedrooms (usually I stay in a 2 queen br) instead they had 2 full, but I guess this is my fault for not reading, so, the room had a bad and horrible smell, the carpet had so many stains, the blanket, pillows and curtains was soooo yellowish and there was a huge mosquito, I have no idea what kind of mosquitos they were, but they were ugly and big, sincerely this is was my 2^nd stay; this 2^nd time was by accident, the 1^st time was about 2 or 3 years ago and I also had a bad experience, I had the feeling that there was bed bugs, but I had no evidence so I decided not to say anything about it, and this 2^nd time also had a bad experience, from the beginning was horrible plus I/​We couldn’t sleep. To be fair I have 2 positive thing to say about that «hotel» (for me was more a motel than hotel) the worst $ 125 spent in a hotel and I absolutely have no idea how this is part of the Choice Hotel (big disappointed) so, the 2 good things was the pool that it was clean and the staff noticed there was 2 families in the pool and they bring towels to us, is true that the towels had a bad smell, but it was a nice gesture from the guy and the other thing was the breakfast, that was awesome, a lot of food, hot and the dining room was pretty clean. other than that, it was a bad experience, mosquitoes inside the room, the toilet was… no words, I still don’t get it why they took so long to get my room ready or where they were. for the smell is better to have the AC on, so it doesn’t bother that much. Definitely, I WON’T stay there anymore and I wish I could add this hotel to a black list where the next time I’d to go to Boston and search for a hotel it doesn’t appear on the list.

Terrible experience! Where do I start?
1. Both of my air conditioners didn’t work. One blew air that wasn’t cold or «conditioned», and the other didn’t even turn on. I found out why… the plug burnt out! See attached photo :(I notified the front desk, but the guy that came to check on it didn’t seem to care that this was a major fire hazard as there was obviously burn marks on the wall. The next day, the wall outlet was replaced, and the A/​C was plugged into the wall with a burnt cord and plug. Oh, and it still didn’t work with the new outlet. Blew air, but not «conditioned» air.
2. What is that smell? After coming to the room after a day of work, there were the weirdest smells… ugh.
3. Broken cabinets pulls, refrigerator handles, peeling paint everywhere, rust and mineral deposits on all the kitchen and bathroom fixtures.
4. The bed had 5 or 6 tiny square pillows instead of normal rectangular queen/​king size pillows. wtf?
5. The curtains never completely closed. There was a 1 – 3 inch gap between the «blackout» curtain in the middle, and about a 2 inch gap on either end.
6. The most I could get out of the High speed Internet was about 150KB/​s via Wifi.
The only good thing was that the front-​desk staff was nice.

This place is located on the outskirts of Lexington near the highway next to a Mexican food restaurant. We choose to live here for 4 nights in a double queen non smoking room for $ 72/​night. I actually felt safe here despite the open parking lot. The serves desk was 24 hrs open with hot coffee and tea. In the morning from 6−10am they have a decent breakfast which includes scrambled eggs, water boiled egg, potatoes, sausage, 4 types of juices (not fresh), coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal, bagels and waffles. Though it doesnt taste like a diner, its still ALOT better than a continental breakfast that is usually offered for this type of amount of money.
I disagree with the other reviews about bedbugs, dirty sheets, dated outlets etc… Perhaps I got a better room?. However throughout our stay everything was always so clean and organized. No bugs, sheets were very clean and there was no musky smell. This is prob one of the better quality inns out there. Additionally, the staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all this was a good expirence and would come back. Cheers!

Welcome to Low Quality Motel… where you can stay in a dirty and smelly room as well as sleep in unclean beds!
Let’s just say I wouldn’t stay here again if I was paid to. Also, if there was a zero star option this place would be rated as accordingly. I mean it is basically a motel, you can’t expect much at one. It is too dirty and dusty for a germaphobic (me). The bed sheets look about 20 years old and I was too scared to even look for bed bugs. The curtains have holes, could have been bullet holes for all I know. I was too uncomfortable to sleep here and I am glad this was a temporary stay.
Oh I forgot to mention the sink is not inside the tiny bathroom which consists of just a toilet and a shower. The sink and mirror is outside the bathroom which I’ve never seen before and pretty inconvenient.

I had some family in town that wouldnt all fit in my house so a few of them booked a room here. The price was good relative to other area hotels, but neither the service nor the rooms were very impressive. They didnt experience the bed bugs that some other reviewers did, and they wouldnt rule the place out in the future. But its definitely not a top tier hotel.

The non smoking room (#3139) stunk like it was a hard smoking room before. When I complained to the front desk, they said that this room was never a smoking room.
It is not just me, three other people confirmed that it was.
The hotel did not have any other rooms available, we came in late and the room was reserved for us, so we were not able to leave.
Later I noticed that the water in the shower was not draining. it took about 30min to drain the water after one person.
The light switch above the sink was not working either.
The only good think I can tell is the breakfast.
It had coffee, tea, milk, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, muffins, you could make some waffles

I was in town for the Runner’s World Heartbreak Hill Half Marathon Festival and I was thrilled to find this wonderful dog friendly and affordable hotel. I was happy the dog fee was «per stay» instead of «per day» like most of the hotels in the area. I would take the traffic into and out of Boston any day over the prices they are charging in the city!
Check in and out were both quick and easy. The room wasn’t sub-​par because it was a ‘dog room’ which I loved. Everything was very clean and I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The entrance was a bit tricky; I don’t think I ever actually figured out how you were ‘supposed’ to get in properly. I wasn’t a big fan of the tiny pillows but that is really a nit picky personal preference thing, there were enough of them to make up for being smaller.
There is a Mexican restaurant next to the hotel but if you aren’t in the mood for that there are a few places to choose from just down the road and the number for dominos (which was surprisingly good and delivered quickly) is in every room. The hotel is also close to many attractions. I would stay here with or without my dog.

The only reason it’s getting a star is because I can’t give it zero.
Things started out well enough. The front desk guy got us our keys relatively quickly.
There’s the highlight.
I’m sitting on the edge of the bed waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for a clean fitted sheet to be delivered. Hopefully more than just that… Besides the fitted sheet looking like Housekeeping set a leaky handivac down, we found a length of dental floss on the mattress pad under that dirty sheet.
I will revise my review and rating if things get better. But they will need to get a LOT better.

I booked this hotel to save money. We needed two rooms and at about $ 100 a night this worked for our family,
I have paid a lot more for a lot worse. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was fine. It’s more like a motel because the doors open up to the parking lot.
