Dr. John Simpson and his staff are exceptionally friendly, courteous and thorough. Their professionalism is amazing and they are so helpful regardless of insurance. Dr. Simpson discovered and treated a serious eye disorder missed by two medical doctors, including an ophthalmologist. After purchasing eyewear, they continue to help you free of charge with adjustments and nose piece replacements for years. Customer service at its finest at Meijer Way. I am thankful Lexington has this exceptional company.

I’m giving Simpson Optical on Meijer Way 5 stars based on my recent experience there for an eye exam, contact lens fitting, and eyeglass purchase. First, let me say, I have been a Simpson Optical patient for at least 5 years and have always experienced exceptional customer service by the staff, and professionalism and expertise by Dr. Joy Simpson.
From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted by numerous smiling faces at the front desk who are ready and waiting to get you checked in for your appointment. The front desk staff are courteous, prompt, and professional.
I can’t say enough about Dr. Joy Simpson (Dr. Joy as her patents call her). She goes above and beyond as an Optometrist to meet all your optical needs (eye health, comfort, and vision). I won’t go to any other Optometrist as long as she’s in practice!
Let me also give props to the Simpson Optical Staff that assist you with picking out eyeglass frames. They are very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Simpson Optical offers a great variety in their eyeglass frame selection. I especially love their designer frames (I got Versace this time!).

Just moved to town and I needed more contact lens. The staff at Simpson optical are all very professional and the whole process went very smoothly. I was in and out of the office and eye exam within 45 minutes. I was able to order my contacts on site and they had a great selection of glasses.

Awesome experience. Friendly staff. Quick but thorough appointment. No wait time. Beautiful interior. And lots of great glasses choices!

When I originally got my prescription for contacts filled, the exam went well and my contacts were filled in a quick timely manner.
Unfortunately, now that I’m trying to get a copy of that prescription, it’s next to impossible. I have called 5 times now and no fax has been received. I can receive faxes from countless other people but this Simpson Optical office conveniently fails to get it through.
Customer Service here is below any acceptable level.

Excellent service and great staff. Short wait time and Dr Mikolaj took extra time to sort through some contact difficulties that other eye Dr’s gave up on in the past.

I recently had the pleasure of doing business with the friendly folks at Simpson Optical. I chose them because of the number of positive reviews, their professionalism, wide selection of frames, and helpful staff.
The doctor who examined me was able to determine that my left eye might benefit from a different type of contact lens. I took their advice and it has made all the difference.
I will be keeping my business at Simpson Optical and will be taking my children their as well.

I’d give them zero stars based on their service, but I can’t so I’ll let the one star count toward their selection — they have a great selection. But their lack of service ruins everything else. When I placed my order, they said it would be ready in 10 days. I called after 10 days, and they said it was 10 *business* days. I called after 10 business days, and they said since my order was entered on a Saturday, it wasn’t processed until the following Monday. But I placed my order on a Friday, not a Saturday. Their story keeps changing, which makes them dishonest in my book. I will not be using Simpson Optical again.

Simpson Optical at Meijer Way is a friendly knowledgeable business. Three generations of our family have trusted them and never had any problems from the very old to the very young.

First experience with this business one day last week. This is an in network provider on my child’s insurance. Staff was fabulous. Frames were pricier than Walmart but great selection. On site lab ensured glasses were ready the following day! Great job fitting the glasses — they took the time needed to get them exactly right. Met one of the owners, Jack — terrific guy. I have nothing negative to say about this place & am so glad I tried them!

My husband and I moved to the US Virgin Islands eight years ago, and even though there optometrists on our island, we prefer to come back to Simpson Optical for our eye care. Definitely worth the 2,000 mile trip!
