With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Sonia specializes in women’s, men’s, children’s alterations & custom dressmaking. Using couture techniques learned in Europe, combining it with ready-to-wear methods, she also specializes in wedding gowns, bridal alterations, custom made dresses and garments, Christening dresses, home décor, and costumes.

Sonia was amazing! I called another dress shop two months before my wedding to get alterations and they laughed at me and said good luck finding someone to do it on such short notice. I then called Sonia and she said sure, when can you come in. I visited her within a week and she had my dress back to me only 3 weeks later. My wedding dress is lace and a bit more complicated than just a normal dress. She had me come for three fittings total and the dress looks gorgeous! Each fitting was quick and simple, she has an eye of seeing what she needs to do. My bustle also came out great — only one point needed! Couldn’t be happier with the outcome, service and speed of getting it back! Thank you Sonia! If you need a good place to get your alterations done — see her!

Flawless, beautiful (and fast!) work. Sonia tailored a very delicate and difficult Badgley Mischka designer dress. It’s amazing how difficult it is to a find 1) a great tailor, and 2) a tailor you can TRUST! Wouldn’t hesitate to take any of my other items to her.

I have been a customer of Sonia’s in Lexington for 25 years. I would not trust any other dressmaker/seamstress. Sonia is a perfectionist and does a fantastic job with every item I bring to her shop. Sonia not only repairs and performs alterations on all of my clothing, but she also designs and makes new dresses, gowns, skirts, and pants with or without a pattern. She will fix and accept small and large jobs. I am absolutely thrilled with Sonia’s work. She is one of a kind seamstress, and is conveniently located in Lexington Center. Not only is Sonia the best in her profession, but she is extremely sweet and kind. Sonia cannot be replaced.

I have been a customer of Sonia’s for 25 years. Her work is exemplary. If you have something that doesn’t fit, she will fix it so that it does fit. She’s honest with her opinions, but also listens to what you want. She designs clothes as well as altering. I can think of no higher praise than to say, «She’s the best,» and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
