Although her web site photos look fabulous, I should have heeded the other reviews as Jacqueline cancelled on our appointment less than 2 hours prior to the arranged time, via email no less. What if I hadn’t checked my email that morning? She could have made a proper phone call, to say the least. I will not reschedule based on other’s reviews and my experience. Luckily was able to get a full refund from Amazon Local. There are plenty of other professionals out there to choose from.

We used Jackie for our remodel in Gurnee. We were moving from out of state so hired her for our design as well as to be our project manager dealing with all of the contractors since we were out of state. She was fantastic and kept us in the loop 100%. She had receipts for every penny spent so we knew exactly where our money went and even had groceries for us in the fridge when we arrived in our new home. The kitchen and master bath remodel we did are amazing. I feel like she took these two rooms from bad early 90s design to something you’d see in a Pottery Barn catalogue. I would highly suggest using her for any design project. I wish we could have changed more about our house and when we get the budget to do more we will definitely be enlisting her expertise to make it happen.

I wish I could give 0 stars because 1 star is too many for the poor service I received. I purchased a deal through Living Social and set up an appointment on a weekday afternoon at Jacqueline’s request for her to come out. I stayed home from work, and about 2 hours before our appointment, she sent me an email saying she came down with a cold and needed to reschedule. I was sympathetic, willing to accommodate, and rescheduled for another day the next week in which I had to stay home early.
Again, I received an email about 2 hours before our appointment. The subject line? «3^rd times the Charm.» She told me that me she came down w/​something the night before, wasn’t feeling well, and couldn’t make it, but would be there the next time «regardless, rain, or shine, sickness (and i’ll wear a mask).»
Alas, it was not the charm. Our appointment was today at 5pm. She did not show, not call, did not answer the phone, and contacted me via text 1.5 hrs later to tell me she was at the hospital with a family member and would email me later… Now, I hope she hadn’t put somebody in the hospital to use as an excuse, but based off of my experience and the other reviews (that I saw when I came on Unilocal to write this one), its unfortunate that I don’t even believe it. I don’t know if she’s going to call me or not, but I have already contacted Living Social for my refund.
Sounds like when she comes (IF she comes and those other reviews are by real people and not her), she does beautiful work. Getting her in your home is the only problem. If you have a life and things to do, I’d contact someone else who would be respectful of your time.

Jacqueline has been amazing in helping me build a house from the ground up. From paint selections, to furniture selections, granite, window treatments, etc. Her responsiveness was amazing and we were in constant communication. I NEVER had a hard time finding her as a couple of others have mentioned in their reviews. I have also worked with several designers in the past, but love Jacqueline’s ideas and fresh youthful perspective. It has also helped me save significant amounts of money when ordering items. If there was a 10 star rating, she would get it from me!

Jacqueline Zinn turned my amateur-​looking office into one worthy of a magazine spread. As a BizTech professional (who happens to be a woman), my office has to look high-​tech but still remain feminine. This is no small challenge. Jacqueline took my company logo, marketing materials, and future video tapings into account when designing the look.
I am highly pleased and will undoubtedly secure her services in the future.
She was flexible with my crazy travel schedule and had no problem coming out to my house in «the burbs» — smile.

It feels a little odd giving Jacqueline a single star without even seeing her work, but after seeing that at least three other reviewers had the exact same experience I did, I feel pretty confident with that rating (click through to see the filtered reviews at the bottom of the page).
Bottom line is, my experience with Jacqueline was strange and frustrating, and I wouldn’t recommend her services. I tried to hire her, but after rescheduling our initial appointment once (no big deal), and confirming our second appointment on the day-​of, she never showed up. She never called or emailed to cancel, and she never responded to my follow-​up attempts to reschedule. I haven’t heard from her since.
For all I know, she could be a great designer, but my experience was a waste of time.

I highly recommend Jacqueline Zinn Design. Jacqueline is a very professional and talented interior designer. She was able to help me find the style I wanted, even when I couldn’t describe it very well. She is also very responsive and was very flexible in working around my schedule. The finished product is amazing — she helped us create a fabulous living room and dining room for our new home. We get compliments every time a visitor comes over and we are enjoying the new rooms very much!

Jacqueline and I are 90% done with my bedroom remodel and 100% done with my home office. I love it and get rave reviews from my friends and family. Jacqueline is remarkable for her creative talents, but what I enjoy immensely is how responsive she is. I never wait days for an email response like I’ve had to do with so many other professionals in the home improvement world. I hear back from her promptly! I love working with her

Jacqueline Zinn Design is awesome. Ms. Zinn is super-​professional and attentive. As a new homeowner I have encountered several service people who are not. It meant a lot that she did everything that we planned, did it in a timely fashion, and stayed in communication through the process. She is easy to work with and is committed to adding to your vision rather than pushing her own. My entire experience was positive. I ended up with great design in my living room and dining room. I highly recommend this business.
