Regular old country store this is not. It is also a restaurant too. This place is in the middle of nowhere, a kind of town where everyone knows each other and the population isn’t over 300. It just so happens that my company has a call center the next town over. We asked were we should have dinner, and everyone responded«Lidderdale Country Store». Needless to say we city folk responded with a «Huhhh?» and were slightly concerned because we had the client with us. So we are laughing while we are on our way there, laughing about the fact that we are going to a country store for dinner while driving through the millions of acres of corn field. We arrive at this place and there isn’t a single parking spot to be found. We had to park across the street. Okay, maybe they weren’t kidding around with this recommendation. We get inside and were promptly seated even though the place was packed to the brim. We get a menu which has a limited selection but a very tasty selection. I ordered the pick three where I chose the 8 ounce steak, 8 ounce pork chop, and four fried shrimp. This also came with two sides and a salad. Let me tell you that might be one of the best meals that I have had in my life, and certainly the best pork chop I will ever consume. Everything was cooked and season perfectly, both the pork chop and the steak were thick and juicy. The chop was better than ones I’ve had at restaurants that charged twice the amount I paid for my total meal. One of the people in our group with saw a sign for Hamm’s beer and had to have one, apparently it was his favorite beer in college. Our waitress said they only buy a few six packs for a regular who drinks the stuff, but it is no problem that we have some. I thought that was pretty cool that this place buys a special beer for a regular, I don’t think that practice is too common up in Northern VA. My stellar meal, including two sides and a salad, and two Hamm’s ran up a bill for less than $ 16. I dare you to try and do that around here. You would end up paying $ 40+.
