Kauai Camper

These are super fun campers with all kinds of useful stuff inside. Where could you find a better place to use them than Kauai? There are SO many beautiful beaches to see, as well as mountain views and great camping up in Koke’e.
Excellent customer service and a great time pretty much guarantee a good time. You won’t regret trying this out and trying your hand at van life.

Once again, Kauai Camper did not disappoint! This was our families second time working with Cheryl and Bob for our visit. All of the equipment we rented was in excellent condition and they made sure we left for our campsite with everything we could possibly need. Cheryl even contacted me ahead of our trip letting us know there was a possible access road issue that may have interfered with our plans. We will continue to request their services for future trips. What an amazing experience! Cheryl and Bob are top notch folks! From the very beginning of our inital contact to when she happily greeted us at the airport. Cheryl was exremely helpful, relaxed and a pleasure to meet. She and Bob went above and beyond by not only helping us get to our marriage license appointment in time but stocking our cooler with some amazing farmer’s market produce and snacks.
My fiancé and I rented their Westfalia, Patsy, for the week for our honeymoon. We camped along the north shore right near the beach. With the Westy, we were able to prepare our own meals steps away from the beach. The van was equipped with everything! i mean everything to make the stay and journey comfortable… maps with points of interest, stove, tent, water, cooler, pots, pans, queen air mattress, sheets, towels, blankets, beach chairs and table and more! Do yourself a favor and get a real kauai experience with a Westy from Cheryl and Bob. It was the best trip we have ever had and look forward to it next year!!! Thank you both so much… we are forever grateful.

I just recently returned from Kauai and had the chance to meet Cheryl and Bob. Let me tell you — they are a couple of the nicest people that I have ever come across. Cheryl is a friend of another friend of mine on Kauai Cheryl found out that my friend that I was traveling with wanted to try Paddleboarding — the next thing we see is a camper van pull up and out jump Cheryl and Bob with a whole picnic lunch and a van full of paddleboards and other fun beach activies. She spent the afternoon making sure that my friend and I enjoyed the paddle boards had a wonderful lunch and just enjoyed the wonderful Aloha that she has within her. I asked her about the camper that she was driving and proudly she showed me what it was. WOW — A HOME A WHEELS is what it was. It had everything. I took my kids on a vacation renting the westfalia back in January. I had been wanting to do this since I had seen them on Maui and was thrilled to find out that there is this outfit on kauai.
Cheryl was so great! She was so warm and welcoming with true aloha spirit! We had absolutely everything we could possibly want in the van. It was so great to not have to pack everything over to the island.
I would absolutely stay in a westi again and actually I’d prefer it. Nothing beats listening to the ocean all night and waking up on the beach! You just can’t get that when you stay in a hotel or condo.

Absolutely wonderful experience! We had everything we needed and more. We were given items we didn’t even rent just to make sure our camp out was done right. All items were new or almost new and worked great. We were given great insight to where we should have looked for a camp site while at Polihale Beach. We got the best spot because of the info. Pick up and return of items were done at our convenience. It was just a great time had by my family because of the attention to detail by the owners of Kauai Camper! Can’t wait to do it all again!!!

My boyfriend and I recently had rented camping equipment from Kauai Camper Rental and it was awesome! We rented a 4 person tent, two burner stove, gas lantern, and air mattress with bedding! Cheryl met us close to the airport when we arrived, took payment, and we were off! The equipment was clean, high quality, and just perfect for our 4 night camping trip! HIGHLY recommended! Would have liked to rent the VW van but didn’t fit out budget so the rentals were perfect! Thanks for making our trip easier !

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Bob and Cheryl are super helpful and the van was way above expectations — very clean and surprisingly easy on gas. A great way to see Kauai — Can’t beat falling asleep and waking up to the beach. Just don’t come expecting a hot, or particularly private, shower. But thats how camping works. DO IT!

What a great experience!
We rented one of Bob and Cheryl’s vans for the last 2 days of our trip, after spending a week in a rental house. The van was delivered immaculately clean and fully stocked with everything you need to live in comfort at the beach… even beach chairs! It ran great and was a pleasure to drive around the island. Even had a modern stereo with an aux jack for your ipod. Next time, we might skip the rental house/​car and just do the van the whole time. Could’ve easily done this for a week or more.
This is a seriously good way to see the real Kauai on a budget, and a lot of fun.

This is by far the the easiest way to travel around and enjoy all the island has to offer — island style.
The camper is in tip top condition, inside and out, and decked out with everything, I mean everything!, that anyone could ever need for camping and outdoor cooking, incl portable gas bbq, tent, fishing rod, chairs, cooler, road maps etc etc etc
The two of us had plenty of space to sleep comfortably, one of us is very tall, and he fit in without a problem. Everything is very well maintained, very clean, neat and shows thoughtful attention to detail — which can only be provided by someone who has experience and loves to camp too. Like Cheryl and Bob.
We spent five days /​four nights in the bus and had the most wonderfully memorable time. Thank you!
If you ever want to go explore Kauai — do it with Kauai Camper! Seriously. You won’t regret it.

Awesome! The VW camper van was the perfect way to see Kauai for the whole family. We have a 15 month old and almost 4 year old — who LOVED everything about the van. It was so nice to be able to pull over where ever to let the kids play, eat, nap or just relax. The van was clean, comfortable and stocked with everything imaginable to make the stay perfect.
I love staying in resorts, but this was really unique and I feel it was easier to see more of the island at a relaxing pace when we didn’t have to start from the same point each day. Also — Kauai’s towns are all so close that we could still eat out conveniently so we didn’t have to cook all the time if we didn’t want to.
This was a great combo for the dad who likes to camp and the mom who wants to be comfortable! We loved it so much — we want to buy our own Westy for Maui!

We recently spent a week in Kauai in a VW vanagon camper from Kauai Camper Rental. It was by far the best thing to do if you are planning on camping on the island. We were picked up at the airport by Cheryl in the van which was fully stocked with everything we needed for the week including a full sized cooler with ice and cold drinks for us on our arrival. Cheryl was our local guide to the island in addition to the Kauai guide book, and she had tons of information on the local things to do. If you want to see Kauai like a local and avoid the tourist scene, rent a van from Kauai Camper Rental. We stayed at a number of local beaches, went to the farmer’s market, and got to the see the entire island on our own schedule. Plus it rains alot on the island, so having a camper van is a huge plus! Cheryl and Bob were extremely helpful and had everything taken care of for us. We had fresh clean hotel style bath towels, beach umbrella, all the cooking utensils you could ever need and more at our disposal. The van even had a 4 person tent with a queen sized air matress for us to use which was practically new. It was a great experience and definitely worth it.
