I received a phone call from a collection agency saying I didn’t pay a co-payment, when in fact I did. Not to mention this «non payment» took place in June of 2013 and I am just now hearing about this now in March of 2015!!! When I called Dr Heaphy’s office to question this mistake the receptionist could not have been more rude. When I questioned why there was no phone call made right away to me regarding this issue, all she did was pass the blame and avoided my question…
This receptionist kept telling me they sent notice letters to me, even after I told her I moved from Lima in 2013 at least 6 times. But that’s not the point… The point is that if I didn’t respond to the first, or the second, or the third letter, why wouldn’t you call me to try and correct this issue? And not 2 years after the fact?! I mean, I feel like it’s common sense! Then she blamed me for not leaving a forwarding address… I mean, how was I to know I would be billed for something I already paid for?
It takes a lot to get me upset but she managed to do it during our 5:57 second phone call.
So my advice to all new or current patients: Keep all your receipts from them for a minimum of 2 years apparently to make sure they don’t double charge you…
BTW– I had a couple moles removed and the stitching was sub-par. I had to go to a new dermatologist in Columbus to try and hide the new scars.
