Seagull Beach-Front Motel

The room was a mess they don’t change beds sheets unless you ask The only thing in my room that was clean was the towels and the toilet The bed and pillows are rockhard The rooms have no AC Only good thing about the place was the beachfront view The staff was very rude never again will i go there

Pro: Decent price. Easy access to beach.
Con: The bed was so hard I felt like I slept on the floor. There is no AC in the room and the windows didn’t have screens so moths and other bugs kept flying in the room. The view is mediocre as the hotel sits directly above the section of beach that vehicles can drive on, so that killed it for me.
I won’t be staying here again.

This motel is amazing! Our room was ready when my sister, my dog and I arrived. There is an addition $ 20 fee per pet and i didn’t know it was cash only. But the office staff said i could bring it back later which was convenient. The ONLY thing that was negative about the room was some dirt/​dust on the creases on the bathroom door and the dust on the baseboards. Besides that the walls were white, no marks or dents, the floors and bed was very clean. I will be staying here again! Also, wifi works great and the hotel is right next to where you can drive or walk down on the beach which was really cool. I recommend booking in advance as the motel does fill up fast!

The view is absolutely amazing! We had room 337 — top floor… you could see it all. The staff is very friendly. The room was very clean — super dated, but clean. Beds were a bit high & hard, there is no elevator so hoofing it up & down those stairs was not my favorite part. the view has saved their rating.
We loved that we were right by the drive-​on bit of the beach… gave my husband an excuse to «tear it up» on the sand. We will definitely go back. Thanks guys!

This place was disgusting. My wife and I aren’t that picky and we didn’t expect a 5 star resort for $ 80 a night but seriously it was gross.
Lady at the desk let us check out 4 rooms. It was late and all other hotels were booked so we picked the room that smelled the least like urine. The smell was so bad we ended up buying car air fresheners and hanging them in the windows.
Truthfully Lincoln city was a dump. There were really nice towns before and after but we screwed ourselves by deciding to stay there. Yeah they are on the beach but so is every town on the Oregon coast.

This motel was perfect for my family! A beautiful ocean front view and beach access. All of their rooms seem to be slightly different so go to their website to see what your options are. They have hot tubs, jacuzzi bath tubs, kitchenettes, full kitchens, some have bedrooms with a door, and even a separate cottage! They only have queen/​full size beds, but they are comfortable. We had a standard room with a bed, bath, micro, coffee pot and mini fridge. They allow dogs. Be sure to reserve by phone as they have to charge a commission for rooms reserved online. We will definitely be staying here again! The reasons I didn’t give five stars was cause our room was the roughest in the motel. A weird decline/​ramp to the entrance, could have used a table by the mini fridge/​microwave/​coffee pot (these items were all stacked on top of eachother). Our last night here the neighbores dogs woke us up in the morning and they just kept barking. I will stay here again, but in a different room (we were in 102). And the wifi did not work at all during our stay, but we didn’t go to the beach to play on the internet.

I don’t know what’s going on, but the service has fallen off to none. We stayed for two days last Tuesday and Wed. After the first night no one came up and cleaned the room or made the bed or replaced the towels. We were gone all day Tuesday, and came back to the motel to wet towels and and unmade bed. Went down to the office it was locked, the door to the laundry was open so I went in and took two towels and two wash cloths. The office called our room at 8:30, I didn’t answer because by then I was too mad to have a conversation. Such poor management and over $ 100 dollars a night, never again. You owners need to get with it or this semi run down motel will be out of business, this was my third stay, and it will be my last.

This place is pretty rough around the edges but perfect for my needs. My wife and I have stayed here twice now with our two dogs. The staff is fairly unfriendly but the price is good, the location is great, the view is absolutely splendid, and they allow dogs for $ 10 each for the entire stay (not per night like most places).
Since the last time we stayed here they have improved their wifi and we can finally get it in our room and its quite fast.
We actually really like that its not very fancy. We are the type of people who like spending most of our time on the beach with our dogs and we end up tracking in tons of sand. At the Seagull we really don’t worry about it at all. We have stayed at a nicer place before and we were constantly worried about messing up the carpet or furniture.
For what it is, its great.

Apparently my last review lacked «substantive consumer experience,» so I shall elaborate on the «extreme ambivalence» I felt after my one stay here. Ambivalence means «having simultaneous, conflicted feelings.» I liked this place and I didn’t like it.
I liked the location, right over the beach, certainly. I didn’t like the fact that we showed up during office hours after a 9-​hour drive up the coast and no one was there to check us in, even though I had made a reservation by phone at least a week in advance. No one answered our knocks on any of the doors we tried. I did like that one of the emergency numbers on the door finally brought someone over to the hotel to let us in so we could finally relax. He was appropriately apologetic about our experience. After he checked us in, he left, and I felt somewhat nervous about being in the motel without a staff member on location in case something else went wrong. It seemed like there was no one else in the building except for a room on the top floor that looked like it might be inhabited by a permanent resident, but not a staff member. I didn’t like that.
I like the haunted seaside quality of the somewhat deteriorated building. There were outdated signs and information that I liked because they amused me and I didn’t like because I wondered what was really going on around here. It felt neglected and a little unsafe. For instance, I recall there was a sign that said the windows would be washed every day at a certain time, but it was clear they hadn’t been washed in a while. Maybe years. I don’t mind a somewhat tattered ambiance, but this was right on the edge of seedy and icky.
The room was large and must have been super deluxe in its prime, which was decades ago. This would be a romantic place to get away from it all and write your ghost novel. The beds were OK, not good not bad. Everything was a little shabby, a little creaky. Which I like and I don’t like.
This might be the spooky beach motel of your dreams.
Would I go there again? Maybe, maybe not. Probably not.
So I stand by my original review, this time in greater detail. I hope this satisfies everyone’s needs.
Extreme ambivalence.

First of all the price is right. So if your looking for a deal this is the place.
The sea gull motel is located over looking the beach and its nice to be able to see the ocean without being outside.
It’s old and it shows. Don’t look for anything special but a place to rest your self while going to the beach and playing and having fun.
I’ll be rambling on because I’m sitting in my room with our 3 yr old watching opening day of baseball, because I’m not much of an out doorsmen. I prefer the finer things in life, like daily room cleaning, fresh towels & a room that doesn’t smell like animals. But that’s just me.
The rooms are spacious and have charm. I feel like I’m trapped in the twilight zone taking me back to the 50’s/60’s.
Don’t expect service from the front office. I waited 10 minutes in the office before someone came to the desk so I could inform them that the cable wasn’t working. Again, I would rather be on the beach in California rather than trapped at the seagull while the wife and other 2 kids play in the sand.
Even though I’m sounding like I’m ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ on the place. I am. I still have 2 days here.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the cost out weighs any negative thing. Just keep in mind you’ll miss out on some better amenities.

Nothing fancy but clean affordable room overlooking the beach and ocean just a short walk down the driveway. There was a fairly high, high tide the first night we stayed and we could really hear the surf most of the night, the 2^nd night it was not quite as noticeable but very enjoyable to hear. We’ll definetly return soon!

This is a cute little budget oceanfront motel. The rooms are simple, and the outside is weather beaten. They allow pets. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have always seemed clean. They have done some recent updating in the rooms. If you are in Lincoln city and looking for something simple give them a try. My only complaint is that I had family who used the online reservation system and made a mistake on their credit card #. When the card didn’t go through the motel cancelled the reservation without telling my family.
