History
Established in 2011.
Exploring Lincoln was started in June of 2011 with the intent of sharing the cool aspects of living in what we consider to be one of the best places to live in Maine. As we published news and photos of the people and events in and around Lincoln or website and Facebook traffic continued to grow.
Now, in our second year of operation, we have thousands of visitors a week visiting our website, and over 5000 fans on our Facebook page. We continue to engage them with interesting local content, and at the same time promote local businesses, offering them several ways to gain exposure to that audience.
Meet the Business Owner
Steve B.
Business Owner
My name is Steve Brown, and I am the «CEO» — Chief Exploring Officer — and Founder of Exploring Lincoln. I love the community I live in and all that it has to offer.
The Penobscot Valley region is a close-knit collection of towns. I grew up in Winn, went to high school in Lee, and have many friends in the surrounding towns. But Lincoln has always been the hub that ties them all together. We come to Lincoln to eat, and to shop, for healthcare, and for car care.
My background is in computer programming. I attended the University of Maine for computer science, and have worked professionally as a programmer for over 20 years. At the prompting of a couple friends, I decided it was time to use my computer and Internet experience to put together a website that explores all our community has to offer. The result is Exploring Lincoln.
