The pros: *Good ol’ fashioned American food. Burgers, fries, frozen custard. It’s just like a Culver’s. *I read a bunch of reviews complaining about the overly-thin burger patties. In my opinion they weren’t bad at all. I mean, yeah they’re thin but it was still filling. *Prices ain’t bad. I also heard a lot of complaints about the high prices. Reality check: $ 7.42 for a combo meal isn’t out of this world in Lincoln, Nebraska. No idea where all of those complaints are coming from. The cons: *The fries. The burgers aren’t the«overly-thin» flaw of the restaurant, it’s the fries. They’re way thinner than shoestring fries. There’s nothing to them & they get cold FAST. *Not a giant fan of their fry sauce which was all the hype. I was kind of disappointed. *The lack of space. It’s by no means a small restaurant, but here’s the thing: the parking lot is enormous. So when you go there to eat in the middle of a lunch rush, don’t be surprised to be waiting to sit down along with 7 or 8 other groups of people even after you’ve gotten your food. Why you would build a parking lot made to accommodate a much larger number of people than there are seats beside tables inside, is completely beyond me. 3 pros. 3 cons. 3⁄5 stars since I can’t do 2.5÷5 so I rounded up. Average, middle of the road. Don’t hate the place but I won’t be rushing back.

I tried the California style single burger. It was the most disappointing burger I’ve ever eaten. The patty was no more than 2 millimeters thick and there were even several places in the middle of the burger were I could see through the patty. I understand if they want to do thin pattys, but this was beyond thin. It was also badly burned. The taste was ok, but for almost $ 5 for the burger alone, it felt like a giant ripoff. I will definitely not be going back.

For the food I’d rather do Culvers for pressed burgers. Fries tasted good but got cold quickly. Chicago dog was ok but not great. California style seems like they’re trying to mimic In and Out. Haven’t tried the custard. Overall food was decent but fairly overpriced for what you get. Drive through was slow but the girl in the window was friendly and very efficient.

This place has great food for reasonable prices. Really, you’d pay the same at McDonald’s but this food is fresh and cooked to order. Also great for kids. I’ve eaten at Freddy’s all around the country and I’m glad we finally have one in Lincoln. Better food than Culver’s and a way better atmosphere. Culver’s feels like somewhere old people from Minnesota go to have coffee and cheese curds. Freddy’s is so much more bright and fun!

Welcome to Lincoln! I’ll be back for the custard but probably not the food. While my husband loved the skinny fries, I didn’t. They cooled down too quickly and were just too thin. They are great for one year olds though! My sister and I had a patty melt. I thought it was ok, but nothing to write home about. The steakburgers are very thin so it’s more like a sandwich with a thin sheet of meat than a juicy burger. My very picky husband had the Chicago style hot dog and scarfed it up, tomatoes and all(not the peppers though) so I’m assuming he liked it! My favorite part is the custard, which is the star of the show anyway. It’s very smooth and creamy. I will say the service was great! There was a woman walking around cleaning up tables and she asked us twice if everything was going ok. They were very busy, but everyone looked to be working hard and it didn’t take long to get our food. We also treated ourselves to ice cream and one of the employees went to grab the ice cream sandwich from the cooler for us. Great service! Prices were ok but I think they could be a little cheaper. The sandwiches have very little meat, even the soft drink cups are paper thin. All in all, it’s a clean, friendly burger joint with fantastic custard and service.
