It’s not my west coast sushi but it’s my favorite sushi place in Lincoln. The sushi is really good and I always get the same woman serving us, she is kind, helpful, and she always makes my trips there a good experience.

Stopped in early for a quick bite after work. The place was completely dead at 6pm on a Friday. Two hosts and one chef, no one sitting to eat. I spent about 50 $ on various sushi and rolls… It was well below par– even for Lincoln. The sushi and rolls were sloppy and not well put together. The fish wasn’t as fresh as it should be and just didn’t taste right. I’d stray away from here, especially since there are better places just a few miles away.

Pros: Large space for groups, ample parking Cons: Inattentive service, average food I had my first visit to OYummy last night. I was with five other friends, and we were one of only two tables — it wasn’t busy. I arrived a few minutes later than my friends. A glass of ice water and some silverware was already at my place setting, but I was never approached for a drink order, and I was never given a sushi menu. Eventually, I stole one from the bar to use. I ordered #1: the OYummy sushi boat which was 6 pieces of chef-picked sashimi, and a California roll. The service: Our meals came with salad & miso soup, which were delivered within a reasonable time. Our entrees were a different story… Also, I waited about 20 minutes with an empty glass for a refill. The food: I am by no means a picky eater, but the salad dressing was just about the saltiest thing I’ve ever tasted. Everyone at the table commented on it. The miso was ok, but I prefer Kinja’s. The entrée was good, and I took half of it home for later. The menu offered some interesting vegetarian sushi, which I might try if I return. The atmosphere: It’s a much larger space than other sushi places I’ve been, so I didn’t feel crowded. There are some hanging lanterns and Japanese décor. Our server wore a kimono. The music is some awful foreign musak. Parking was good. Didn’t use the bathrooms, so I can’t rate those. Overall: I had heard very good things about OYummy, so honestly, I was a little disappointed. I prefer Kinja or Wasabi.

I like sitting at a sushi bar and having a little chat with the chef before I order, and I must say that the chef here was very ignorant. He did not even know what toro is! I ordered the medium sashimi boat, a california roll, and hot sake. The rice on the roll was dry, it had no avocado in it, and it was covered in eel sauce. Worst california roll I have ever had. The sashimi was okay, but the salmon was not cut well(too close to the skin) and the meat was therefore chewy. I was also disappointed by the«red snapper» which was actually tilapia. The chef did not make proper cuts(against the grain) as an experienced chef would, and the pieces were overall rather small. After I finished it, he gave me two free pieces of spicy salmon nigiri(gunkanmaki), which was not bad. The waitress was okay, even though I had to mention the sake twice. She gave me extra servings of miso soup without question. My hunt for super fresh fish and an experienced sushi chef in Lincoln continues!
