History

Established in 1996.

Stauffer’s Café was established in the fall of 1996 by Thad and his mom Claridy Stauffer. The vision then, which continues to be, was to create a comfortable place and great homemade food at reasonable prices. Since then Thad’s brother and father, Ryan and Roger, have joined in the family business.

Meet the Manager

Thad R.

Manager

Claridy Stauffer has for years been in the restaurant business. In the 70’s she had a small café just off of the I-80 exit in Milford Nebraska. In the 80’s she had a larger café located in a hotel in Hesston Kansas. Thad managed the hotel during that time. The restaurant/hotel in Kansas came to an abrupt end on March 13th 1990 when it was hit by a tornado. Following that Thad moved away for college and Claridy worked in the travel industry. In 1996 they came together again using ideas from her previous two restaurants along with some new to form Stauffer’s Café. It wasn’t until a week before starting the café that they decided to add «& Pie Shoppe» to the name. An add on that proved to be well worth it.
