Adlai E Stevenson High School

Not so good school. management is worst.

This High School is A-​MAZING. You have to be there to fully understand that I’m not just saying it because I’m partial, I’m saying it because they stand above the rest. I actually MOVED to Buffalo Grove so that my son could attend this High School.
They offer so many things: between classes and life preparation and over 200 different sports and clubs, etc. You can go to the library (resource center?) and check-​out cameras and video recorders and laptops. They have assistance like tutoring in the resource center.
I’ve also had to work with one of the Deans, and she was so friendly and helpful.
The building itself is HUGE. Very nicely taken care of. They have a large pool and work-​out rooms. They have a couple of auditoriums for theatre stuff. They display previous students artwork on the walls, and the artwork is unbelievable.
Some of these kids are so talented, and Stevenson helps them find their passions and build upon it. It gives them so many opportunities to explore what they like, and just try new things.
I can’t say enough about this High School. If you’re willing to work and be excited about school — this place has SO much to offer. Probably why it’s consistently rated as one of the best High School’s in the country.
Way to go Stevenson. You’re doing a GREAT job and I appreciate you.

I LOVE this school! I am an alumna of Stevenson and I was very fortunate to have attended this school. Of course I wouldn’t have said that while I was a student! After graduating, I realized just how fortunate I was to have been a Stevenson graduate. The facility is amazing (even back in the late 90’s), the curriculum is challenging, there is an abundance of resources for students, and the teachers do a great job preparing the students for college. I know quite a few of the members from my graduating class were accepted into Ivy League schools after graduation.
I attended a junior college in Chicago after graduating and saw just how advanced Stevenson was. I was the only student in my college algebra class with a graphing calculator (TI-​83)! This was a requirement for Stevenson but the students and even the teacher had never used a graphing calculator! The students were mesmerized by the technology and I ended up teaching my algebra teacher how to use it!
This place has also gotten me jobs. People are often impressed when I mention I graduated from Stevenson. This school has a well deserved great reputation. I would love to send my daughter here for high school.

Is it weird to write a Unilocal review for a high school? Well, I’m going to anyway.
I recently judged a competition held at Stevenson and, like all my fellow judges, was blown away by the place. We see a lot of high schools over the course of the season, and this is by far the nicest. A fireplace in the teacher’s lounge? An «Experimental Theatre» in addition to a main auditorium? An ATM in the cafeteria? The facilities are incredible (one judge commented that it looked like a junior college, and it does!), the parent volunteers were resourceful and nice, and the student volunteers were polite and helpful!
I’m withholding one star because I don’t know what it’s like to actually be a student at Stevenson, but otherwise, color me impressed!
