The Home Depot

This Home Depot is the pits. They have plenty of staff, but most are clueless to where anything is in the store. Depending on what your looking for its hit or miss. Either they have it or don’t. Or maybe they have stock, but the employees are just too lazy to look at the inventory. I really wish this location would get it together. It’s conveniently located on 1 & 9 in Aviation plaza. Their parking lot is spacious and set up for pick up or drop off, of purchase or rental equipment.

Longest freaking line I ever waited at in my life. I felt like I was in TSA line at Newark airport! Then the self checkout registers were only excepting cash! After waiting 15 minutes the idiots closed the self check out lines without saying I’m sorry. What the hell is wrong with location? I saw 3 different groups of people walk out of the store in frustration. I guess Home ‘Desperate” does not care about customer service anymore… TIME TO GO TO LOEWS!

This is possibly the WORST home depot that you can go to in the area. This is the closest Home Depot to my house and anytime I go it is impossible to find help. Any staff that is in the area where you need help tells you they don’t work in that department. If they call someone that does work in that department, you can wait for a very long time for them to show up. Then you have to deal with attitude as if you are interrupting their work day by asking a question. This place needs a major staff overhaul. I have to go to Home Depot in Colonia to get service, which is INFINITELY BETTER!

What a horrible experience! We purchased our washer over the weekend and they couldn’t install it! I wish someone at the store would have told us that we had to remove our dryer before them coming. We wouldn’t know that little piece of information because Lowe’s did it for us before. My husband took the day off of work and forget about customer service… they were never trained on that!
I’m giving them 1 star because I have to.
Who is responsible for putting in this expensive washer now? They can’t help me with that, but send out the same people that don’t seem to know the difference between a washer and dryer!

Save yourself the trip from going here and being treated like you are interrupting and an inconvenience. Go To Lowes where I walked in and Vanessa helped me and even said that «it was her pleasure» when I thank her for her help.
I stopped to ask three Home Depot associates if they had any wood chips for a smoker. Rob answered with «Not Here». I clarified and asked «not this isle?» He stated not this store. Another associate spoke up and said that they had some up high down the isle. Rob said that that’s not what I wanted. I said «yes it sounds like what I’m looking for»
Talk about making a customer feel uncomfortable, the entire time Rob was getting a ladder and climbing up to see the product, he was displaying an irritated attitude even to the point where he got loud at me in front of other customers and associates telling me that that’s not what I asked for.
I just waited until he stormed off and went back to his two I interrupted him from, and climbed the ladder myself.
Will not be back.
Went to Lowes where they were extremely helpful and gave me a feeling that they want my business.

This is by far the best Home Depot in the area. I used the Home Depot app to look for a somewhat obscure product, and saw that it was listed as available at many local stores. However, the first store I went to stated that the product was unavailable, without even looking for additional inventory. The next store had the product but some parts had been stolen, rendering it unusable. I then went to this store in Linden and they were extremely friendly and although the product was not on the shelf, they had about 4 employees looking for it for me. After waiting 15 min they asked me to leave my address because they didn’t want me to have to wait longer, and within an hour delivered the product to my home (30 min away). Most friendly and helpful Home Depot employees I have ever seen.

Came here a month ago to pick up a paint sample. Crazy bunch of characters that work here. If you’re looking for knowledge or help, don’t go here. Drive to Woodbridge or Colonia.
From a girl in a orange apron screaming from across the aisle «get your a*s over here, I need you now» «drop what you’re doing and get your a*s here now». Mind you, I’m right next to her. Ear hurts.
To a guy that just stares at you when you ask a question, like he wasn’t listening in the first place.
To another girl talking to a customer and saying, «i don’t know how to help you, you gotta speak to someone who knows» and walks away.
You can see the many people shaking their heads and being totally upset. Everyone including the workers look depressed. Send help immediately!

Worst Home Depot I’ve been to! I feel like most of the staff ignores you and when you finally get someone’s attention then point say «three isles down middle of isle on bottom right.» Thanks for not being helpful I would have had better luck just guessing where to go. Quality of the products are average.
Had my backsplash done through home dept a couple man and woman came to house to install and spoke no English and did an awful job! Tried to get money back from Home Depot because the work was so poor and they put cuts in my counter and it took 6 months for resolution! Unacceptable

Wow !!! I can say with absolute certainty that this is the worst Home Depot on the planet. With the exception of the paint department, there isn’t a single person with the slightest clue about anything. One incompetent passes you onto another and so on… From the terrible customer service to the staff on the floor, this place is an absolute waste of time. More and more you see customers relying on each other for help and advice rather than the clowns, misfits, and dawn of the dead rejects that wear the orange. This place is an embarrassment to every other Home Depot. I can walk here from my house yet I chose to drive to Colonia or Woodbridge. If you really want to walk on the wild side try ordering something on-​line and having it shipped to this black hole. This is an experience like no other; from the delays to the confusion to the outright lies you will be told. Pretty sad when I’m willing to drive several towns away for a 50 cent whatever rather then endure the crapshoot this place is. As the Joker said in Batman, «This place needs an enema».

If I can give negative stars I would!!! I went to this store because I was running errands in the area. I needed to ask about a vertical blind purchase and installation. The initial steps of the process seemed pretty easy. I pay $ 50 to have a technician come to my home to measure my windows and the deposit goes towards my purchase. I asked the associate several times if it were an issue since the closest home depot to me was in Lodi, NJ. He reassured me that it wasnt a problem and I can go to that location to purchase my blinds. He even said that the tech would be dispatched from my area… Needless to say at the time that I went to the Lodi store I was told that I had to go to the linden store since that’s where I paid my deposit. An associate from the Lodi store went above and beyond, she called the Linden store several times and was put on hold over 30 mins each time. The Linden store initially said that I would have to come down to their store to «try» and get a refund. After countless hours at the Lodi store being assisted by an incredible employee we were able to purchase our blinds. The Linden store called my on 6÷16÷2014 stating that the refund was processed and I would have my refund within 24 – 48 hours. It is now 6÷23÷14 and still no refund. I had to call the store twice to inquire about my refund and both times the associate tells me for some reason they can’t pull up my order # because the computer kept «freezing». I had to tell the associate that the reason its probably freezing is because the sale was voided. After I told the associate how to do her job she was able to track the refund which was processed on 6÷19÷14. 3 days after the date I was told it would be processed. There is no accountability for the associates, the staff has no knowledge of basic product information or store policy, and getting the assistance from an associate is nearly impossible. I am very dissapointed at this whole process and will no longer refer to home depot in linden for any needs. I will make sure to tell my friends who own contracting companies the same. It’s not worth the headache. I am extremely frustrated and I wanted to call the store to speak to a manager about the whole process but i’m afraid i’ll spend more time on hold than reading the entire encyclopedia britanica! STAY AWAY!!!

Horrible service ! Over an hour at the window and door dept waiting to order a replacement part ! Highly recommend going to colonia Home Depot. Trust me the extra drive is well worth it

Seriously, if you need hardware or home supplies go somewhere else – patronize the local folks in Linden and Elizabeth instead of this bad joke.
