Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport

I had my own little disaster movie at the Hilton during my last time through Baltimore. I arrived just after midnight after a ridiculously long amount of travel — I don’t want to do the math, but I know it was over 24 hours straight. I was very tired and wanted nothing more than to check in to my room and go to sleep before my 6:00 am wake up call. So though it only took a few minutes to resolve the computer problems at the front desk, it felt like much longer. When I then headed up to my room, the key didn’t work. So I lugged my bags back down, did the whole thing over again, and headed to a different floor to try a different room. All told, it took about 15 – 20 minutes to get to a room that had a functioning key. In the room I did stay in, the smoke alarm had some kind of flashing green light that was bright enough to distract me and prevent me from sleeping facing its direction, so that was no fun either.
The room itself was clean, and aside from the aforementioned issues, my five hour stay was uneventful. While waiting for my flight at the airport, I read my emailed receipt and found I had been billed for two rooms, including someone else’s room and their room service. I had to fly before I could call the hotel to resolve the issue. Once I called, I explained the issue, and the staff member explained that my reservation was associated with two rooms. I pulled up my email confirmation, verified that it only showed one room, and explained that not only did I only reserve one room, but the person using this other room had checked in and ordered room service over an hour before I even landed in Baltimore.
After some back and forth, the staff member told me that only the manager could resolve my problem, and said manager was busy. But they would call back soon.
No one called back.
I contacted Hilton corporate to resolve the problem, and they worked with the hotel to resolve the issue quickly and professionally. Which means I might theoretically go back to Hilton somewhere else, but there is zero chance I’ll be back here. I was trying to shop around after Marriott let me down, but they are complete pros compared to this place. What a fiasco.

Decent property with a large fitness center, huge lobby with bar and restaurant and a nice executive lounge.
Room was large and clean although the lighting was atrocious.
Staff was friendly and accomdating.

Nice hotel but it’s the employees that give this a two star review. Didn’t acknowledge me as a Hilton honors member not once during my 7 day stay. NONE of my requests were met and the Were not even at full capacity. I asked for a room facing the front I got one facing the rear then I came downstairs to switch and he made it seem like an impossible request and couldn’t figure out which rooms faced where. Isn’t there a map. WTF for a HILTON this is very disappointing .The front desk guys seemed to have a hard time juggling calls and checking guests in. I thought a tip was a tip the shuttle driver will EXPECT TO BE TIPPED. I think they need to go threw a crash course of re training here ewwwww

Always a big fan of the Hilton Hotels and this one is OKish for the BWI. This property is well maintained but a little outdated. I would suspect a refresh in the next year or two. The area leaves a little to be desired since it is on the far outskirts of Baltimore Proper. Stick to the hotel bar, it is the best part.

I checked into this hotel in June for a Jazz Festival. The hotel service was average nothing memorable or eventful about our stay there. I was charged for my stay and paid in full when checking out of the hotel. A month and a half later in July I was charged $ 99 on my credit card from this location. I spoke with the billing department and they to were confused by the charge but stated they would call me back. After several days with no return call I called back to check on the status and was told it was a cancellation charge, according to them I must have had 2 rooms!!! What? They didn’t have 2 reservations from me but went in and charged my card my card fraudulently. I explained I only booked 1 room that was already paid for and my stay was in June! The young woman in the billing department said she understood but I would need to speak with the manager. I left several messages for the manager and assistant manager and no one returned my call so I disputed it with my credit card company. I have never had an issue with the Hilton but after this experience I refuse to room with their chain at all. As far as I am concerned they attempted to steal from me and got caught in the act. My advice to anyone that chooses to stay in this location is to review your credit card statement because I am pretty sure I am not the only customer they have done this to, I am just meticulous in regards to my credit cards and review my card statements thoroughly.

I have stayed here so many times, I am surprised I haven’t written a review yet. Most of the time I have great time here. The last time was an anomaly where I got a smoking room… probably cause my flight landed right before 2 in the morning, my credit card on file hadn’t been updated, so my reservation was canceled and smoking rooms were all that were left. Of course, not being a smoker, why do they even have smoking rooms? I ended up waking just a few hours with a headache. Ugh! Overall this one visit has not ruined it for me for future visits.

This was my fist time staying at this hotel, and it was what you expect of a Hilton. The room was large and had the amenities you expect to include a mini-​fridge, iron, hair dryer, etc. The furniture and décor did seem a bit dated, but my room was clean. The staff at check-​in were very friendly. They got me checked in quickly and provided a nice brief overview of the hotel.
I am a Hilton Honors member and had access to their executive lounge. It was smaller than some that I have been to so I didn’t spend much time there. I went up for the free evening reception but it was crowded and loud so I left. I had an early morning flight so I missed breakfast.
I did have the opportunity to try their restaurant. It isn’t a separate restaurant but instead is an extension of the bar area. Again, it was a bit loud because it was open to the bar and there was a dinner event occurring in one portion of it. Therefore, we could hear their speaker during our dinner. We were given the lunch menu but didn’t realize it so my co-​worker and I both ordered the crab cake which we thought was $ 17. When we got the bill it was $ 32. We asked about it, and they discovered that we had been given the lunch menu. They honored the lower price which was great! I also had the Maryland Crab Soup which was fantastic!
Finally, I do have to talk about the airport shuttle. I got downstairs at 3:55 for the 4:00 shuttle. It was completely full! The driver had to spend 10 minutes trying to figure out how to fit all of the luggage. Unfortunately, there wasn’t even an open seat for me. The driver said he would come right back and get me. They typically run ever 30 minutes, but he took a separate run just for me. Very friendly!
Overall, I would stay here again due to the convenience and staff.

I recently stayed here on my way in and out of BWI. We picked it because of its proximity to the airport, as we just had 2 quick overnight stays as we traveled in/​out of the country.
When we arrived at the airport, we called for the free shuttle and it was there to pick us up within 10 minutes, both times. The staff at the hotel made communicating where we needed to be for the pick up very clear (which curb, what door number, by the green signs). Since I am totally unfamiliar with the airport, I really appreciated this.
For rides to the airport, the shuttle leaves every ½ hour, starting at 3:30am. We had no problem getting on the shuttle and getting to our terminal quickly. Shuttle ride to/​from the hotel is less than 10 mins.
Not really close to much else (other hotels and a chilis) so your options for eating are hotel restaurant or chilis if you are without a car.
The hotel rooms are all standard Hilton — clean, modern, comfy bed, good size. Nothing fancy, but good for a quick stay and good nights sleep. Biggest issue here is the bathroom. Clean, but small and the toilet is behind the door, which seemed weird to me, and the shower door (we had 2 different rooms and both were this way) did not deal well, so a TON of water ended up all over the bathroom floor.

I’ve stayed at this Hilton eight times now. The rooms are nice enough except that I will never understand the toilet placement.
My issue with them is that on two occasions an item was left in a room. Even though they were called within an hour or two housekeeping claims to have not found the item. The first time it was a Michael Kors handbag. Not shocking that it magically was not found.
The second time it was some shirts. I called within two hours, was transferred to housekeeping where I had to leave a message. I asked to be called back. This never happened. I called again and spoke to the front desk. Again I was told they’d have to check with housekeeping. Again no call. By the time I was able to get back to the hotel at the end of the day I had to start my inquiry all over wasting a bunch of time, only to be told again that they were missing.
This is very frustrating.
Make sure you triple check your belongings if you stay here.

Very nice hotel and conveniently located near BWI. I was fortunate in that they had rooms available on very short notice. I would give them 5 stars, however the parking is limited. Though it is free parking, I actually had to park at a neighboring hotel and walk over. I understand that we are in close quarters, however it would be nice to accommodate parking for the price that customers pay for our rooms

Nice place to stay. Wasn’t expecting it as a number of the previous reviews were really bad. Never experienced any bed bugs as was previously indicated by a review. Believe me, I checked throughly and there were none seen. The only problem I had was toilet problems from the get go. A present was left for me, a stopped up toilet, which I couldn’t get unstopped even with the help of the front desk. I talked to numerous people — Friday afternoon when I checked in, later Friday evening and again Saturday morning. Sometime during the day on Saturday while I attended a conference in the building, someone must have fixed the toilet as the problem was no longer there in the evening. Shouldn’t have taken that long to resolve and shouldn’t have been there in the first place when I checked in.
The room was nice and large, comfortable, plenty cool and the housekeeping staff left it at the temperature I had set. Its rare that they do that, but was nice coming back to a consistently cool room.
Breakfast buffet was nice and filling, lots of tables set up for our conference goers to sit together and eat. Restaurant itself had a small seating area and a rather small menu. Ate in the restaurant for Friday lunch and late night Friday meal. It was adequate but on the expensive side for a hotel restaurant. No other choices unless you took their shuttle or had a car to go offsite.
Heard horror stories about the shuttle from numerous guests who used it or tried to get the shuttle from the airport. Some had to take a taxi because the shuttle never arrived to pick them up. Luckily I drove in and had my own transportation.
All in all a good stay. There are plenty of hotels around BWI airport, but I would consider giving this place another try.
Oh, also, though they have a Nursery Road address, they aren’t actually located on Nursery Road. They are on Elm Lane/​Road off of Nursery Road behind the Marriott.

I worked a conference here video documenting the workshops. i came in late on Thursday, and didn’t have the best exoerience at the bar, but they were trying to close. The next morning, the breakfast buffet was really good for $ 14.95. The place is older, but well maintained. The shuttle service was great. They took me to the very convenient light rail and to a restaurant. The A/​V crew was also really good and respobsive.

Nice room, convenient location, friendly staff… unfortunately this hotel is grossly under staffed. They are all doing their best but they are spread so thin that they are unable to respond to the volume of guests in a timely manner. From the shuttle to the front desk to the in room dining /​kitchen. there need to be more people on duty. Everybody was very nice, personable & apologetic — and this in NO WAY is reflective on your employees. this is a managerial deficiency. Hire more people.

First I noticed the cigarette burns on the arms of the chair when I sat down for an office day. Then I noticed stains all over the chair. See photos. No big deal I can sit on a towel to start my work day. Then I notice the bed behind me is infested with bed bugs.
In 5 years of 300 day travel I finally see them. This place in infested and disgusting and the management blew it off and said «we don’t have bugs a customer must have brought those in»
Do not ever stay here. I am so angry and disgusted it’s hard to type.

The staff is nice and accommodating. Rooms could be updated a bit as mine seemed well used. Awesome awesome lifetime gym on 2^nd floor open ²⁴⁄₇. Treadmills with tvs yes and weight machines. The gym is really why this place gets 4 stars. Parking sucks! Especially for being attached to a conference hall.

We arrived near midnight on a Saturday night. We called the front desk for a shuttle to pick us up. We were told «I’m sorry, it is a state of emergency, no shuttles are running, you will have to take a cab». We noted that the other hotels had their shuttles running. After waiting 45 minutes in the freezing temperatures for a cab, we found a very nice driver from Hilton’s competitor to drive us to the Hilton.
We had to check into our international flight by 8:30 pm the next night. The desk PROMISED us there would be a shuttle waiting for us at 7:30. Knowing the mess from the night before, they guaranteed a shuttle would be there for us at 7:30 pm
We got to the lobby at 7:30 and we discovered to our horror… no shuttle that we were promised!!! We spoke to the manager and was told the driver was off picking up people from restaurants and will be back in 10 – 20 minutes – too late to get us to the airport.
We then demanded they call a cab and I asked to talk to the senior manager. While this was going on, My wife talked to another hotel’s shuttle driver. He was nice enough to give us to the airport. We made the flight with 4 min to spare and we gave the driver a very handsome tip.
People were nice, rooms OK but they seem to lose the attention to details. We paid extra for the concierge lounge which was not open on weekends. Key did not work for the fitness or laundry rooms.
As a business, you have to pay attention to details and do things your competitor does not want to do. Promise a shuttle at 7:30 pm? You deliver that shuttle at 7:30…no excuses.

Do not stay here.
Hilton Management: please take notice
This hotel is 1 mile away from the airport, and has a free shuttle. The hotel says, just call them when you arrive at the airport and they will pick you up. I followed their instructions and called, then waited for the shuttle to arrive.
After watching 10 other hotel shuttles pick up their guests over the next 45 minutes, I called the hotel to find out where they were. They said the driver would arrive soon, so I waited 5 more minutes.
After 52 minutes my shuttle arrived with 4 other people already in it. Finally, after 7 hours of flying and 52 minutes of waiting for a shuttle, I could make it across the street to the hotel… or so I thought!
The driver began driving in a completely opposite direction than the hotel. After 10 minutes of driving, two of the passengers asked where we were going. The driver said he was taking a few people to a restaurant and then we would go to the hotel. Our one mile ride became a 20 minute trip around town. Needless to say, we were beyond unhappy.
When we finally arrived, the front desk asked how I was doing. My response was, «after taking an hour to get here from the airport, I’m doing terrible and I am very unhappy.» The managers response was, «well, it’s a complementary shuttle so.»
That’s right. That’s it. That’s all he said. It is obvious that this happens all the time, and they just don’t care.
The other two passengers were much less kind to the manager when they walked in. After I walked away with my room key, I heard them express their displeasure using a variety of expletives. They also said they would never go through that joke of a ride again. I must say, I completely agree.
I will definitely stay at any one of the other 20 hotels in the area that have free shuttles– the ones that actually drive you to your hotel directly.

Rooms outdated, bathrooms outdated, lounge outdated. No breakfast.
I guess Hilton is just a name there.

Generally not a fan of the Hilton chain, but after last year’s crappy experience at the Westin, we decided to switch things up and stay here instead on our annual trip to Baltimore to visit the MIL.
Check-​in was fast and efficient which was greatly appreciated after our long cross country flight. Our room was so comfy and so quiet. The bed was unbelievable. One of the best I’ve every slept on, with lots of wonderful pillows of all different firmness factors. The one negative about the room was the tiny bathroom, which also had a funky door that you needed to keep closed so you could open the closet. Very poor design.
Our rate included the breakfast buffet every day which was a nice touch and made things a little easier since we didn’t need to head out every day in search of sustenance. It wasn’t anything spectacular, just your usual eggs, bacon/​sausage, waffles, cereal, bakery goods and breads. My hon of hons husband is a big granola fan and really liked theirs, but it would’ve been nice if there had been a better selection of fruit to add it to the granola.
Service was very efficient and friendly at the front desk, the buffet and at the bar.
Overall a good stay, and we’ll probably stay there again next year.

Stayed here a night after a friends wedding! Parking was on site and free! Lobby was really nice and the rooms were nice as well. When we got there, the fire alarm sounded and we all had to evacuate! Still don’t know what happened, but a bunch of fire trucks showed up. After all was done, we headed to the bar to have a few post wedding drinks. There were two other bridal parties there and one brought a DJ with them. He had a speaker set up and we were able to have our own little after party! Food and drinks at the bar were a little steep, but that’s to be expected.
The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in and the free breakfast in the morning was extensive. Fruit salad bar. Omelet station. French toast, big variety of cereal. Oatmeal bar. Eggs and the list goes on.
Overall, really nice hotel and a friendly staff.
