SpringHill Suites Baltimore BWI Airport

As is typical, people with great experiences and those with terrible experiences provide reviews. That said, our experience tends to the low end. On check in, was met by front desk staff who did not look up from her phone conversation to acknowledge me and indicate she would be right w me. Upon completion of the call, she checked me in without hardly looking at me. Seemed I was a nuisance. Most staff had this attitude. Except for the lady running the breakfast area. She was very pleasant if overtaxed by her function. She had trouble keeping items stocked for guests. We asked for clean towels and rec’d damp towels without any pleasantries from staff. They were just handed over. On our last day, the room was without running water. They are «working on it.» On the plus side, on the days they came to make up the room, about every other day, it was done very competently. Overall, the place is clean; staff nearly uniformly indifferent at best (however, front desk was gracious and attentive to our need for a late checkout today, we are grateful); breakfast food marginal — turkey sausage inedible, eggs same, they were «out» of oatmeal on two of 6 days, croissants inedible, packaged goods and waffles very good, fresh bananas each day. All said, as an Elite member very familiar with all levels of Marriott properties, this falls short of Marriott standards for SpringHill properties. The water is the color of ginger ale. Will never return here. Marriott would be ashamed of this property and how it is run. Management must be incompetent.

Flew in on the red-​eye from Los Angeles for a lacrosse tournament and they let us check in (really) early which was awesome so that my son was ready to go. They even gave us late checkout so he could shower before getting on the plane super funky. I would definitely stay here again. The room was clean and updated. Two big screens!

Don’t stay here! Wife and I tried three time. Always an issue. Spend the extra few dollars and stay at another hotel on the area. Two years ago we had a bunch of issues I won’t get into. It’s a novel. We were comped a night the following year (we Come for our anniversary) Last year we have to wait 45 minutes to check in because someone is arguing about their reservation. Com to find out idiots were at wrong hotel! Didn’t hold it against the hotrl. You can’t fix stupid. Then fire alarm goes os at about two Am. Flood because someone upstairs set of sprinkler system. Again can’t fix stupid. Can’t blame the brand. OK we try this year. Check in and all is good. They even upgraded the place. Room set up is a little weird. Closet on the far side of room, dresser by the door. Whatever room is clean. For two days the place has been over run by kids and adults that don’t know how to parent. Last two nights one woman and 13 kids in the pool area and my wife and I couldn’t enjoy the hot tub. These people have been acting Ghetto for the last two day! Probably family of the same idiots that rote recently. I call customer care and am asked «Why do yo stay there?» Funny thing is after all this crap I didn’t have a good answer but was also taken aback as I didt expect customer care to discourage my business. Anyway you can find other hotels in the area that are priced within 20 – 30 dollars. SPEND THE MONEY! It’s apparent that riff raff will come here to save the short money and customer service does not care. I really wanted to like this hotel and wanted it to be «our place» for our next 50 anniversaries but obviously it won’t be the case. If you read the review that rants about the breakfast don’t believe it. It’s good but nothing different from any other hotel. Eggs, sausage various breads, cereal, waffles. It should be a clue when regarding clientele if they think anything beyond a Continental breakfast is amazing and they can’t believe it’s free. I am definitely moving up next year and trying the Court Yard and I advise you to do the same, unless of course you like stupid people and ignorant people that let children run wild and a staff that doesn’t care about it. Book the place if you want to set up your mobile meth lab or do anything else. Staff will just say «they paid, therfore can do whatever they want»

«What A Total Hot Mess, Don’t stay Here !!!»
Stay in your car! Keep driving, move up the highway! The biggest issue here was that the hotel staff has a Where they have a don’t care attitude and needs to be better supervised.
During our first night of our stay, we where located on the 4^th floor floor next to a two rooms full of kids. We got no sleep that evening or the next because the kids where up til like 4:45 am making mad noise and in and out of both rooms and running up and down the passage ways when trying to get to sleep. I called front desk several time requesting security to go to those rooms to have them quiet down. Front desk said they would take care of it on both night of our stay. The next morning we whet down for breakfast and found the breakfast area was too small to accommodate the number of people that wanted to sit, the the waffle cooker had the longest line I ever seen at a hotel and they only had one, there where no eggs or breakfast meats either nor was there any milk left and it was only 8:55am. We found out that all of the young adults that where there was from the University of Florida Lacrosse team. I went to the front desk to advised them of my finding and the lady told me that they only had one server there and she was doing her best, I told her that the trash cans where over flowing with trash she told me again there is only one person. We left the hotel at about 10: 30 Am and returned at 6:30 PM and the room had not be cleaned or tended to at all. I called the front desk and was only informed that housekeeping was gone for the day and that also that I MUST have left the «do not disturb» sign on the room when I left (i.e its the guests fault!) I most definitely did not leave the «do not disturb: sign on the door. Also when using the elevator there was a dirty towel on the floor (housekeeping!)By «free breakfast» standards of hotels this offering was pretty meager — I’d give it a D+
Upon checkout the front desk clerk asked how my stay was and I informed her the difficulty I had with housekeeping and the Kids both nights she seemed very uncomfortable and muttered «Sorry about that» «My GM Leon Chittams was a where of how people book here and have parties here all the time even smoking weed in rooms — — leaving me to wonder — why do they ask in the first place?!? Is it customary tradition on the guests part to just say «everything was lovely»
Everything was not lovely and I would not stay here ever again and neither should anybody that reads this review I am placing this review ever where I can so people know how bad this was.

We stayed here Saturday night. My sister stayed here Friday and Saturday night. She made the reservations. She asked for 4 things before booking the rooms: 1) 2 adjoining rooms or at least rooms next to each other, 2) wifi, 3) if they had a waffle maker at breakfast, 4) 2 queen beds for each room. She was assured that we would have all of these things. We got none of them.
She went to her room Friday night and tried to do some work on her computer. No wifi. The front desk told her she could call the IT department to have them fix it. As they had things to do that night, she really didn’t have time to spend on the phone with the IT department. I think someone at the desk should have done that. When they went down for breakfast on Saturday morning, they were told the waffle maker was broken. They assured my sister it would be fixed or replaced by Sunday morning. Since my son pretty much only eats waffles at these type of breakfasts and nothing else, this was important.
After waiting around 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk on Saturday night to give us our room keys (my sister had already checked in for us, we went upstairs to discover that our rooms were at opposite ends of the hallway, not even close to each other. To make matters worse, our room had 1 queen size bed, not 2 as she had requested. When she called down to request a change, she was told there were no more rooms. So I had to sleep in the same bed as my son, who is a very restless sleeper. Needless to say, I did not get a good night’s sleep.
The next morning we went down to breakfast. After walking by a toilet plunger that someone had left in the hallway, we discovered there was still no waffle maker. I looked for plain bagels since he will eat them but they didn’t even have any of them, only cinnamon raisin. So we all decided to skip breakfast there and go to Cracker Barrel instead.
After walking by the toilet plunger about 3 more times (shouldn’t that have been removed immediately?), we left. I will say our rooms were clean and very nice but when you are assured of 4 things and you don’t get any of them, that is reason enough to never return.

My girl friend and I booked a room in this hotel and were very pleased with it, the rate was reasonable the room was clean, staff for friendly and the complimentary breakfast was really good, i have nothing to complain about!

I should have listened to the reviews. No one at the front desk. Later, a very poorly groomed front desk clerk who was a «low talker» with a lisp showed up.

Good sized rooms. Microwave, sink, and coffee maker. Desk, couch, coffee table, end table, chair, then two beds and a dresser between them. Normal hotel sized bathroom with a sink and vanity area across from it. I like that the sink and the toilet/​shower area are separated so that the mirror doesn’t get all foggy. It also makes it so one person can shower while the other gets ready. Nice toiletries as well.

I always stay here when in town.
Love suites.
Large enough for everyone to have space.
Clean.
Nice enough staff.
Bfast is EXCELLENT.
They change the menu so you don’t just have the same items if you are staying for a few days.
Free wif-​fi.
ONLY COMPLAINT was the elevator was shake-​y… it is smooth to all the floors except when it approaches the 5^th floor. My kids were super scared and did not want to take it again!
They probably should get it re-​aligned!

Got into BWI around midnight. Unfortunately their shuttle was not running that late. I called the hotel and they told us to take a taxi and they would reimburse us when we arrived. Sure enough, they did and even included the tip we gave. Very friendly staff and the room was spacious and very clean. Great place and a good price and breakfast is included!

We’ll after my last stay here I promise you this will be my last. I’m done with this Springhill Suites 899 Elkridge Landing in Linthicum, MD. The front desk staff was terrible and they are under staffed. If you’re ever asked «how was your stay» don’t answer. I was asked on April 20, 2014 and the results were horrible. My room was bad on my first night, but I decided to stay another night and I regret it. I voiced my concerns and the GM Kevin was rude and so disrespectful. He questioned why I stayed if I didn’t like the place? Little did he know he was talking about me where other guests could hear and my business partner was right there When confronted he tried to give the brush off, but it’s not over yet. I filed a report with the Corporate office in Texas. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. No stars!!!

I’ve stayed at this particular hotel 4 times in the past 12 months.
Hotel/​Amenities/​Room: All are nice, clean and spacious (enough) for a comfortable stay. The tv swivel allows you to watch while in bed, and the pullout couches in certain rooms are more than enough to get a good nights sleep. The gym has dumbbells UP TO 55lbs! Hotels typically toss a 1980’s treadmill into a room with a yoga mat and Jane Fonda workout DVD’s and call that garbage a «Fitness Center». While small, the room overlooks the pool and has 4 very new treadmill/​ellipticals. All very nice.
Breakfast: Probably the #1 factor in choosing a hotel these days. The fireplace with comfortable seating just off the lobby houses this wonderful breakfast every morning. These guys get it. There’s milk, yogurt, scrambled eggs, hard-​boiled eggs, bagels, sausages, coffee, juice, a waffle maker, a waffle maker, and a waffle maker. TOP NOTCH and the woman who oversees the food service is an absolute sweetheart. Nothing is better when you’re a little fuzzy from a late night then the above food/​drink and an overload of confidence-​boosting compliments.
Staff: Exceptional across the board. They’ve met and exceeded all difficulties I threw there way and this is to say — a lot of difficulties. We stayed there for a bachelor party weekend and a wedding weekend. We were quite irresponsible and they were pretty great about the whole thing. We may have ruined some other peoples stays and, for that reason, I felt I’d nullify any bad ratings they might have gotten as a result.
A truly sincere congratulations and ‘Thank You’ to the staff and service here.

The GM, Kevin, is outstanding. He took a personal interest in our stay during a time whereby our BWI flight was cancelled. Additionally the contractor plowing the parking lot got out of his truck to help me brush off the snow from my vehicle. Marriott has to be so proud! Nice job!

Room was worn and in need of a paint Job. Linens were thin and ripped in places. Our King-​sized bed had a queen-​sized blanket.
But what was really bad, the coffee cups in the room still had coffee in them! YUK!
Someone from Marriott needs yo do a secret stay here and see if this is their brand standards.

This really is a standout in the Marriott chain. Basically it is a somewhat above average Springhill (in terms of age and renovations) but it is 5 stars because the management here really get it and go all out to give great service! For example — because I am an elite member they have a nice letter, bottle of water and granola bar all packed up and waiting for me — nice touch, this was my 101’st night at a Marriott this year and it was a first — this was over and above the usual «extra points or a store item» patter. The letter listed all the facilities which were well serviced and presented. The following morning the free breakfast was great — scrambled eggs and sausage (better tended and presented that even a good Fairfield), fresh (really fresh) fruit — even strawberries in late October, plus the usual pastries etc and oatmeal. ON TOP of all of that the GM (Kevin I believe) was walking around and engaging his customers and making sure everyone was happy — what a star! Other GM’s and owners take note…
Finally the shuttle to airport — awesome, driver with great attitude, dropped another guest off at the rail station on the way. Nice, nice, nice — 5 stars

This was my first time at any Springhill Suite. As everyone indicated, the place is a good stay. Unfortunately, the cook was sick and the free breakfast did not have any hot food served. Since my meeting was walking distance, I took advantage of their shuttle service. My plan was to eat lunch at the airport while I wait for my flight. I have to tip my hat to the shuttle bus driver, Dante. He suggested & dropped me off at G&M Restaurant for the best crab cakes in the area before my flight. Thank you again, sir!

Fairly dated location of this Marriott chain. Clean and friendly service and good breakfast selection. could use a face lift soon to bring it up to date with some of the other locations of this brand I have stayed in.

Total 5 stars! Headed thru town on 295 and found this gem! It looks new, nice and clean. I got a 2 queen bedroom with a sleeper sofa for $ 99. They have free Internet, comp hot breakfast, laundry facilities, 24 hr workout room, business center and indoor pool. I was totally happy with all aspects and would stay here again!

Ratings are for business, not leisure. Not recommended for leisurely stays because it’s not in close proximity to anything significant or interesting (other than the airport).

This was my first stay at this Springhill Suites location, but I will definitely return. I travel to this location for business 4 – 5 times per year and I am always on the hunt for a comfortable place that allows me to easily get work done. Springhill Suites hits that mark and gets additional kudos for the super friendly staff.
The rooms are spacious with a separate «living» room with a small sofa and second TV for relaxing after a long day of meetings. They also have a full size desk and free wireless internet (a big plus for me). The small kitchen area (sink, fridge, and microwave) make this room just about perfect.
The free breakfast includes all the comforts of home and a waffle maker. Any time I can save money and get a free meal I am a happy girl. The only reason I don’t give Springhill Suites a 5^th star is because they do not have a «managers special» in the evenings. The Embassy Suites and Residence Inn down the street both have free drinks and heavy appetizers from 5pm — 7pm so one can really get a free dinner if they want. Not that I need alcohol to make me happy, but it is a nice touch when you’re away from home.
If you are like me and make frequent trips to do business with NSA or local government, the Springhill Suites is a great option!
