I was in town visiting family and after searching online for a place to ride I came across a couple of places. After reading reviews and seeing one place where a child had died we decided on Red Fox, so glad we did! It was very easy to find. We went on a Sunday and were the only ones there. The staff treated us very well. There was cats, dogs, lamas, pigs… it was really nice to see a variety of animals all of which were well taken care of. The horses were very we taken care of and the guide defiantly knew what he was doing. We really enjoyed the ride and will come back! Prices are very reasonable!

We love this place! Our 6 year old had her very first riding lesson today and it could not have been better. Roxanne is a wonderful teacher and Red Fox Stables is a charming place with many well cared for, happy, super friendly animals(dogs, cats„ llamas, chicken, and horses). We got ton of amazing pictures(ex. our toddler kissing a horse who leaned over to our side of the fence) and had a lot of fun watching our 6 year old receiving her first lesson. I thought she’d be on a pony and that actual time on the pony wouldn’t be that long(I’m completely new, so I didn’t know what to expect), but Roxanne geared up a horse and my daughter right away while explaining and instructing in a way that’s interesting to a young child. Off they went to do their 1 hour one on-one lesson while we watched from a comfortable bench to the side. We couldn’t believe that our little girl was riding on her own, practicing turns using a line of orange cones on the ground. Roxanne is an amazing teacher! We are so happy we found Red Fox Stables. Price is just right for us. We signed our daughter up for weekly one hour lessons.

I really like this stable. Roxanne the owner truly cares for her animals. There were tons of cats(all fixed) roaming around the barn. There was a billy goat that was interested in what was going on, and about 5 dogs, all interacting with the cats and visitors. We arrived a bit early for our 10am ride through alafia state park which was great because it gave us time to play with the cats and dogs. I was placed with jasmine, an incredibly sweet horse. I think there was about 8 of us in our ride and all of the horses were great and knew to follow the lead horse. All in all, this was a great experience and a nice way to start off the morning.

Perfect for the beginner or someone who hasn’t been on a horse in a while I had purchased a living social coupon for this location sometime ago. We scheduled our ride for a Saturday at 1:30PM on October 27. The weather was nice as it was breezy with a high of about 76°. It was overcast, so the really wasn’t any need for sunscreen which was nice. The location was easy to find with my GPS. When we arrived we found a standard Florida horse barn, typical of the area located down a sugar sand road. Going through the gate I stopped to take a few pictures. Roxanne greeted us with a smile. I could tell she loved animals(which in my book is a plus), as there was a menagerie of cats, dogs, pigs, of course horses, and even a goat under the table! Later on I would discover they even have a llama, how cool is that? After introductions, Roxanne verbally thought out loud and assigned us our horses. She then led us outside and gave us instructions for mounting and steering the horse. She has both a plastics stair and a permanent wooden structure for mounting your horse easily. She took the time to make sure each of us was mounted correctly and that the saddle was adjusted accordingly. She then worked out an order and the girls, who volunteer there, helped her arrange our horses in a line accordingly. Some of the girls accompanied us on the ride, bringing up the rear. Like most trail rides, these horses have been conditioned to follow each other nicely. It’s, like being on a ride that has a track, you can deviate a little bit but not much. I found it was useful to do so for me sitting tall in the saddle, so that I could avoid low hanging tree branches. On a couple occasions I did attempt to stop my horse, named Houston, in order to take a couple of pictures. A few times, he actually did stop, but most the time it was futile. On one occasion after getting him to stop for a picture, when I wanted to catch back up to the line, he quickly found his gait and we caught up in seconds. That was pretty thrilling! He was a pretty big horse and it was very exciting to feel that speed and power. My wife was on Jasmine. She was a very easy-going horse. In fact at one point, only went to cross a small creek, she just meandered straight through the creek instead of trying to jump it. My wife found this to be perfect, as she was a very reluctant rider, having fallen the last time she was on a horse some years ago. This turned out to be the perfect rehabilitation for her as the ride was smooth, peaceful, and fun. The trail itself wanders through the adjacent state park. The flowers were in bloom and provided wonderful pictures. In addition, we saw Gopher turtles, very interesting looking lizards, and a few super huge spiders to take pictures of. This trek is well worth the money, perfect for the beginner or someone like me who hasn’t been on a horse in 20 years. At the end of the ride we were provided with bottled water and the ability to walk around freely checking out all the animals. I was particularly fascinated with the pig, as she had just given birth, and all the cute little piglets were running around frantically playing. This was just the icing on the cake for me. My wife enjoyed it so much she asked if we could come back and get some sort of discount and Roxanne responded that she would be more than happy to have us back. Great customer service!

Great team, great atmosphere! Well worth the drive from the city to get to a real farm experiance! Obvious that the owner and all the employees care for their animals, people and sport. Not fancy, just good old fashion instruction, fun and country ethics!

All I can say is Awesome! We had such a great time on our trail ride. The horses are so beautiful and obviously well cared for. We loved all the extra animals that live there, too. We can’t wait to go back and ride again. We will make sure to bring extra carrots and dog and cat treats for the«gang»! I totally recommend this place to anyone who loves horses or just wants to try it out!

I’m really a fan of this stable which is almost a mini farm considering the different animals(besides the horses) that found a home there. If you are a true horse lover than this is the place to be. The owner does what she does with passion. She loves her animals and her work and you can tell. The property is right next to a beautiful natural reserve with miles of riding trails. The horses are well taken care of and the tack is in great condition. It’s a family atmosphere stable that offers everything from lessons, guided trail rides, camps, birthday parties, horse boarding to horse leases. It’s absolutely worth the drive from Tampa.
