Always looks dimly lit in here and the staff almost never smiles or greets you. I used to live in this area; but even then, a trip to Kroger was only for a few things, never an entire grocery shopping ‘excursion’. I hate to seem so underwhelmed in my review of this particular location, but the truth is… thats the way it left me feeling.

As much as I hate this Kroger’s… yea, I said it. I can’t rate them too low, let me explain. I sorta grew up in this area, so I remember when this Krogers was built. It was so beautiful and classy, and reflected the nice middle class area it was in. Then they shut down the Ingles up the road, and everyone started flocking to this Krogers. So Now? Well… it can be a bit hood sometimes, to say the least. And that alone will make me give a place 1 or 2 stars. Hoodness makes me uncomfortable, lol… That said, because this location is so busy the food stays fresh. The Krogers off of Hwy 78(Stone Mtn Hwy and Bethany Church Rd) used to be my favorite, but then some of the stuff stopped being so fresh, and so I started back going to this one when I was in the area. So though I hate a lot about this Kroger: the businesses, the hoodness, etc. They’re always open(24hrs), they’re usually fully stocked, and they have fresh food. The best time to go, is definitely in the daytime when there’s a lot of old folks in there. This area is getting back diverse(blacks and whites) like it was when I was a kid, and this Kroger’s reflects that much more these days… anyway this place gets crazy and busy, but I can almost always depend on them to have what I need… so for that, I’ll give em 4 stars.
