History

Established in 2001.

Zig’s Bakery and Deli is a continuation of the 35 year-old Minnich’s Farm bakeshop. Minnich’s Farm Bakery was built in 1970, enabling the family to move its production from their house to the newly built bakeshop. Bill Cox continued Minnich’s Farm Bakery when he purchased the bakery in 1988.

In July of 2001, Dean and Carole Ziegler and their son Brandon purchased the bakery from Bill Cox. Brandon graduated from Eastern University with a degree in Business Management, and immediately put his education into practice at the bakery. Brandon’s experience catering with his parents and working at a bakery in Philadelphia has provided him with an excellent background in foods.

In April 2015, Zig’s Bakery moved to their new location on E. Newport Road, expanding to offer soups, sandwiches, and coffee, in addition to the traditional bakery items. Zig’s shares the building with Country Home Catering and the event venue Brick Gables.
