From the friendly receptionist through my skin check and check-​out with the team and Dr. Theriault, I was pleased. My appointment, like all physician offices I visit, was only 7 minutes late and I was out prior to expectations.
And while I was in the office, the staff was training on a new form of Tattoo removal that is done without a laser. I don’t have tattoos although I know people who do and want them removed.

Just left there. My appt time was 145. At 215, I asked if I would be seen soon. I was told doc was with one patient, with one more ahead of me. Can you imagine? They thought it was perfectly ok for me to kill an hour waiting to see a doc. Got my money back, see ya. Zero stars.

If you value your time, save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere. Rude, uncaring and unprofessional staff. No consideration for adherence to patient scheduling. The whole place looks like it is on the verge of bankruptcy.

I used to be a patient at Apex Dermatology as a teen and as an adult I’ve moved to Vail and started seeing a derm in the mountains. Now in my mid twenties my skin has changed as have my skin care needs. I have recently moved back to Denver and wanted input on how to change my skin care for my new skin needs and lifestyle. In the very short appointment (10 minutes) the doctor was able to quickly do a skin cancer screening and treat one specific problem, that was the only positive of the appointment. To answer my other questions I was told to speak to the aesthetician. She was busy so I was then left with the nurse for my questions. I felt rushed with no time for my questions, and the few I did ask she was unable to give me clear helpful answers. If I wanted to continue to be confused about proper skin care I could’ve saved myself the rushed time and trouble and just used Google. I would rather drive two hours to my dermatologist/​aesthetician in Vail than ever come back to Apex for sub standard care.

I’ve been coming here the last few years and everyone is great. I come for check ups because I have fair skin with freckles and they have helped me so much. I had some insurance issues they promptly and creatively solved for me and an item I needed went from $ 500 to $ 35. I’m so happy to have found them and will also come here for any future dermatology needs. My skin is clear and looks great thanks to their help!

I scheduled an appointment as a new patient and they cancelled on me because the doctor I was scheduled with called out sick. I didn’t make it a big deal and rescheduled for a later date. When I arrived at the office I approached one of the ladies and she barely acknowledged me telling me it will be a moment. The other lady called me over to do paperwork and everything was fine. I got to see the doctor; she was great. She handed me my prescriptions and I left. A couple weeks after taking the new meds I developed a bad reaction and got hives. I stopped taking the meds and called the doctor’s office to report it to them and ask the doctor what I should do. I never heard back from them. Not only that, it’s hard to get an actual person when you call the office. I will not recommend this doctor’s office to anyone.

I am a nurse who is a patient of this practice along with 4 of my children and my husband. I highly recommend this dermatology practice. There are over 1,000 disorders that can affect skin making dermatology one of the more difficult areas of medicine to practice — skin being our largest organ, our first line of defense against infection, and in my opinion, most neglected organ under many insurance plans. For those who complain about having to wait in the office waiting room despite having some sort of painful skin condition, I doubt that your skin condition suddenly became severe and painful, (like most people, I’m sure your waited for a period of time hoping that the condition would resolve itself to avoid having to go to the doctor, and only made an appointment when it was getting worse, not better) and even had you been seen immediately, your relief from the pain wouldn’t have been immediate — would likely to have necessitated a prescription or two that would have needed filling at a pharmacy, unless you were expecting total anesthesia until the conditon was relieved. Every patient who enters a doctor’s waiting room with an appointment wants to be seen without having to wait in the waiting room, and every patient believes that the reason they need to be seen is equally as important as anyone else’s in the waiting room — and they are correct. Many dermatology practices do offer treatments that are considered purely cosmetic and they are an appropriate choice for cosmetic skin treatments skin being their specialty — Botox, fillers, laser, hair removal, light therapy, etc. are more safely administered at a dermatologist’s office or plastic surgeon’s office. Members of my family have gone in for their appointments believing that they will need only a prescription to treat a skin condition only to have the doctors biopsy or remove an unusual growth or spot on their skin. No practice can diagnose skin conditions over the phone, so an appointment can take more time than the patient or doctor anticipated at the time the appointment was made. Health care providers are also supposed to do their part in holding health care costs down and often a patient believes that the provider should be aggressive in treating something and is unhappy when the provider adopts a more conservative approach to treatment. Ask questions, express your concerns to the provider as any medical professional appreciates a patient who shows an interest in their own treatment and wants information. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and I do recognize incompetent and/​or uncaring health care providers, and this medical group doesn’t fit in those categories.

I have been going to Apex Dermatology for about a year now. To my pleasant surprise Rebecca A. was going to be treating me. She was treating my auto immune disease for years when she was with Kaiser. I feel she cares about her patients and she is very good about educating me on my condition. Rebecca never rushes through the answers to my questions. She hears my concerns. I have shown such improvement since going to her. When I have a setback in the auto immune disease she gets it back under control. Rebecca puts me at ease and makes me feel very comfortable about an otherwise embarrassing condition. The nurse that takes me back is also very good. I am unsure of her name but they make a great team!
Suzanne in billing is also amazing. Who can understand insurance? Suzanne does and she is very much on top of it. Suzanne returns phone calls and sends needed information by emails quickly. She is very kind and personable.
My only downside to Apex is the young lady that sits behind a desk where I check in. Not sure what her roll is because we now have the task of checking ourselves in now and paying on a tablet. I guess she is there to hand out tablets with a frown on her face. I have seen here there the last two visits and when I ask her a question she says «I don’t know». She never offers to go find out the answer.

I have been going to Apex for many years and my most recent visit will likely be my last. My experience was less than acceptable. My appointment was at 9am and I checked in at 8:40am to allow ample time for completing paperwork. I was done completing that step by 8:50am and had not been called back to see the doctor by 9:30am. I kindly asked the receptionist at 9:30am why there was a delay and she didn’t even have my name correctly, she checked someone else in for my appointment. She was unsympathetic and quite rude actually. There was a very angry gentleman ahead of me who had waited almost 70 minutes for his appointment and asked for a refund and the way that the staff handled his interaction was also disappointing. I understand that sometimes doctors get behind schedule, but when a patient makes an appointment, it’s incredibly rude to make the patient wait for so long. It would’ve been nice for the staff at the front to apologize for the wait and communicate why the office was so far behind… that would’ve been most acceptable. If I had not approached the receptionist, it’s likely that I would’ve waited an hour, certainly without the front desk staff checking in. I was not impressed with my consultation as the doctor hardly said anything to me and didn’t felt like my problem had been resolved. I’m sorry to say that I will not be returning to Apex. It’s unfortunate that I’m not the only person with a similar experience here. I have referred many people to this practice over the years and my story is similar to theirs.

After reading the negative reviews here, I still decided to go to this doctor. It took about 10 minutes to fill out the new patient paperwork and they called me back within a few minutes of handing it in.
I saw Leslie, the PA. She was polite, knowledgeable and fast. I am happy with how everything went and felt I should post a review from an ‘average’ patient since it seems that only patients with bad experience are taking the time to review them.
Anyways, based on my single visit, they seem great and I would recommend them. I was at there office for about 45 minutes, which is pretty good based on my experience.

I have seen Rebecca (PA-​C) several times and have had great care. I am always greeted the minute I arrive, the waiting room is clean, peaceful and spacious. Wait time is incredibly short; I am often seen within 1 – 2 minutes of my scheduled appointment. The medical assistant working with Rebecca is always super-​friendly and kind. My treatments are thorough and carefully done, and the outcomes are simply excellent. Rebecca always follows up after my treatments to make sure I am pleased with the results.
In addition, my daughter sees Brittany (licensed aesthetician) for important scar reductions because she has had several orthopedic surgeries. Brittany is so kind, gentle and patient with my teenage daughter. The laser procedures have reduced the unsightly scars tremendously, and my daugher (and I) are simply thrilled with the results.
Apex Dermatology is our family’s dermatology practice, and we are grateful for their care.

I saw Dr. Wallner several times as did another family member, no waiting, I got to see the physician as planned and when planned, Dr. Wallner was thorough, competent, and friendly and what more can I say. Her staff is similar and attentive. Scheduling an appointment was easy and dependable as was the payment method. I will continue to use the services of this physician.

I called the office to make an appointment for my husband. He requires annual skin cancer check exams. I spent several minutes on the phone with the receptionist/​appointment setter, who was friendly and helpful. I thought it was strange that she booked my husband’s appointment at the Littleton office, since we live in East Denver near Lowry and he’s been to the Lowry office before. However, the receptionist said that «No, he actually came to Littleton the last time.» I figured she knew best and scheduled his appointment. The day of his appointment, he drove all the way to Littleton, only to find out that no one ever booked his appointment in the system! He was not scheduled for the Littleton or Lowry offices! I was very upset and called to talk with a manager. However, the manager was «in a meeting» and couldn’t be disturbed. She called back and apologized for the error of «sometimes we hit a wrong key and the appointment doesn’t save.» They scheduled him another appointment, letting me know we were lucky they could get him in the next day. Lucky? How about getting him in the day/​time of the appointment I’d already made?
Lesson learned! There are plenty of great dermatologists in Denver and I’ll call one of them next time!

Dr Rebecca is horrible. I do not have insurance and paid out of pocket the visit. I was told she was not comfortable treating me for a wart. Isn’t that what dermatologists do? She also wanted to do a biopsy which I have had done. When I booked the receptionist did not recommend bringing those records. I also have eczema and I was insulted over and over. I was told I have dry skin, wear clothes and underwear that are to tight and I had scratched the iterated area. Pretty much the only reasoning it was like that was my fault. Dr did not take consideration of how irritating it is on a daily basis. So she recommended using cetaphil (see link below). It’s $ 10 at the drug store. As I looked at the ingredients I noticed parabins. I called the nurses line wanting to know why they would recommend something with chemical fillers? No call back. I use online the highest grade skincare and cosmetics, so I find this the biggest insult to dermatology. I even asked in the office about a glycerin bar which is chemical free and was shot down. Stay away from this office! It is full of drs who are not very knowledgeable and want to stick you for large bills by making you have multiple visits.

Terrible experience. Had to wait over an hour (probably because someone’s Botox was more important than my severe & painful eczema) for a less than 10 min consultation with a physicians assistant– not even one of the doctors. She quickly printed 3 prescriptions and sent me on my way. I had many questions that were unanswered and felt unheard with my concerns with the prescriptions and given no other options.
Yes, I may have a bias opinion towards western medicine but doesn’t change the fact that Apex Dermatology’s idea of customer service sucks.

Hands down the worse managed doctors office I have been to in my life. The issue is not the doctors or their knowledge, but everyone else that works there.
I have a monthly appointment there to finish some medication I am on, and every single time they are running behind. When I say behind I want you to understand, I waited 50 minutes one time after my set appointment time, 1 hour 20 minutes another. Every single time? How hard is it to figure out and schedule things appropriately?
This months appointment, they call me 2 days prior to confirm my appointment… great. They call me the day before my appointment and say they cancelled my appointment because they need a referral from my doctor? Huh? The lady leaving the message makes it sound like it was my fault for not catching that my original referral had expired?
The front desk receptionist sound all friendly until they have to actually do anything other than say hi on the phone. They do anything to avoid any work and help the customer out.
Phone calls always require 5 min wait to speak to anyone. Leaving messages for the nurse staff do not get returned. Who is running this place? Terrible. go find another place that will not waste your time and treat the customer like crap.

The Lowry office has great doctors and receptionist. Drs. Theriault and Wallner are nice, friendly and know what they are talking about.
The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is that they are always late on their appointments. The last 3 times I’ve had an appointment, they were at least 30 minutes late.
I hope they can improve on their scheduling. But don’t let this keep you from going. Great Docs.

Dr Greene is awesome. Very knowledgeable and puts me at ease. This is a great Derm Practice.
