Big O Tires

This place is awsome, they took care of me and walked me through everything. I know I get a good deal here and the work is excellent quality!

Third time having a bad experience with these guys. This time I called in advance to see if I could get a tire rotation and he told me to stop by and it would take about 20 min. So I get there and some lazy ass is sitting at the customer service desk eating his bowel of chili and tells me it’s gonna take an hr to and hr and a half for a tire rotation. This is why I do my work myself on my cars, but in order to keep mileage warranty on my tires I need receipt of having the tires rotated as recommended by them. Never again will I buy a set of tires or deal with these jerks again!

A few days ago, I called Big O Tires to get a new studded, winter snow tire and put my other 3 on before the first snowstorm came, which was forecasted. The salesman on the phone said he would order it from the warehouse. They called me later that evening to tell me it had come in, and I told him I’d like to set up an appointment for 5 p.m. the next day, which he said worked.
I got there at 5 p.m. the next day and was told there would be a 2 hour wait to put the tire on, which I was a bit frustrated at since I set an appointment, but was willing to wait… it was, after all, the last day before a snowfall. About 1.5 hours later, the manager, Wiley, told me that their studded tire machine was not working, and that they would not be able to put on my tires that night. He apologized profusely, telling me that the original salesman I spoke with was not supposed to set an appointment and didn’t let anyone know the tire was supposed to be studded. If they had known all that in advance, he said, they would’ve been able to make sure the machine worked. Needless to say, I was pretty upset, mainly because it was about to snow and I own a performance vehicle with summer tires.
All this sounds really bad, right? Well, I get people make mistakes, and what’s really important to me from a business is when they do what they can to make it right… which is exactly what the manager, Wiley, did. He gave me the new tire for free (all I had to pay was mounts and balances) and won me over with his willingness to do whatever it took so that I «left happy.» When most businesses mess up like that, they pretty much throw their hands up in defeat… but Big O Tires went above and beyond. I’m definitely a loyal customer.

I visited this Big O twice during my internship in the Denver area and both times I had excellent service. The first time I took my car in was because I had just had an oil change at a Big O in California before road tripping to Colorado and my oil was leaking. The guys took care of it free of charge!
I took my car in again on Monday to get an oil change before I drive back to Oregon for college, and the Big O team was extremely professional and helpful with my questions. I recommend making an appointment though… it gets very busy there even on Mondays!

I’ve always heard good reviews about Big O so when I experienced all these problems, I thought I better write a review. Watch out for these guys. I purchased a package for 3 oil changes and other services. I made an appointment. Brought in my car and was greeted by Doug. He went outside with anther man to check my tires and miles. They were laughing for some reason. He came back to tell me I needed 4 tires and gave me quotes for over $ 125 each. Of course I didn’t’ buy. While I waited for my oil change, there was another lady there they were screwing and she had her dad come down to talk to them. I only waited 30 min for my oil change and Doug said it was done. I never saw my car move out of the parking lot! I had my husband check the oil when I got home and sure enough, the oil change had not been done. I called and Doug said that the oil was probably dirty from my ride home, and a bunch of other excuses. I asked to speak with the manager, Todd. Who said some other excuses but said to bring it back but they didn’t have time for a few days. I did and talked to Todd who continued to make excuses for my car not getting services. One was that they had a similar car in earlier that day and they thought it was the same car. Todd gave me a $ 100 credit, on the back his business card. I thought I would give them one more try since I had the credit so I made an appointment for 8:00 before I went to work. Doug happened to be the one I made an appointment with. I get there at 8:00 and they did NOT have an appointment for me and couldn’t get me in for 2 more hours. I would be late for work. Also, Todd doesn’t work there anymore and my $ 100 credit is void. Another Car Repair place that you can’t depend on.

Todd at Big O was great in finding good tires for my vehicle. Before I called them, I did tons of searching online for tires that would fit, and also be in my budget and would allow good off-​road and fuel efficiency/​long lifespan. They were on sale, and were able to get me in the same day.
After I got my car back, the front wobbled pretty bad at higher speeds. I took it in and they added some more weights to my wheel and balanced it out. I guess my wheels were out of spec, and that was causing the problem. Of course, they didn’t charge me for that.

This place WAS great, but NO LONGER!!! Had tires put on all three of our family cars and were happy… until my daughter’s last visit. She was told her tires (with less than 15,000 miles — warranted for 60,000 miles), were shot and they would not rotate them (as specified in their contract) because they were dangerous for her to be driving with them on the car. In addition, they came up with over $ 1000 worth of other things that they said needed to be done. Subsequently took to a Toyota dealer, who has thoroughly inspected the car and fixed everything as well as rotated the tires for less than $ 200 dollars. And, they aren’t cheap, but they are honest people it seems. Now one wonders — Why do these crooks show up in these tire shops and try to screw women who walk in. Stay away from these crooks especially if you are a woman — I can guarantee they have lost our business. And they don’t deserve yours!

I took my car in for an alignment. I was told to make an appointment so I wouldn’t have to wait. When I got there, I was told it would take an hour and a half. I was then told a multitude of things that were mechanically wrong with my car. The funny thing is that I already had those issues completed elsewhere, so there was nothing wrong with my car, just trying to rip me off. I was then charged a $ 10 fee just to get rid of my tire. I could have taken the tire somewhere else and have it disposed for free. I felt like I was treated like a second class citizen and was talked down to. I will definitely not do business with this company ever again!

So far… we have been talked down to and fake smiled at, we will see how the tires are… we were also told our business made their «numbers» for the month, hope they stick around so our warranty isn’t worthless… :(I get tired of every single place like this telling my girlfriend that her belt needs relplaced… every single time we take it in somewhere. I have had several trusted mechanics look at the belt after dealing with big o, and each one told us that the belt was fine.
