Kathryn and JD did the wedding hair and makeup for myself and my two bridesmaids. They were a pleasure to work with, very prompt and professional, and I LOVED the looks they came up with! They listened carefully to what each of us was comfortable with (do we usually wear makeup, how much, what kind) and made suggestions as needed. I did a trial about a month before the wedding where we played around with colors and styles until everything was just right, and that made things go really smoothly on the day of the wedding. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I got married at Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford a few weekends ago and Kathryn and Brittany did our entire bridal party’s hair and makeup from 9:30am — 2:30pm at our suite at Auberge. They are incredibly professional, extremely sweet and friendly, make thoughtful suggestions, and are simply outstanding in their work. As someone who doesn’t use makeup often, I had no idea what kind of look I was going for — however, Kathryn was fantastic in understanding my style, features that I wanted to highlight, and she crafted the most beautiful makeup look that I couldn’t have even dreamed of myself. As for my hair, I knew I wanted some sort of quarter up and three fourths down look with curls and Brittany absolutely nailed it! In fact, it turned out better than the images I had in mind. They are both truly fantastic and I would trust my face and hair with them any day!
Also, I was beyond impressed with the hair and makeup done on my bridesmaids and mom. They were each so stunning and strutted such uniquely beautiful looks.
Lastly, Kathryn and I were coordinating everything via email before the day-​of and she was so responsive, insightful and enthusiastic throughout that process. We provided Kathryn with ideas of the kinds of hair looks that each of us aimed for.
We all felt like a million dollars thanks to Kathryn and Brittany and cannot say enough wonderful things about them!

Kathryn’s talent & sense of style transformed me back in time to the roaring 1920s with a hair style and makeup to elicit «Wow-​you look stunning!» and «Oohla-​las!» from guests at the party. I felt so sexy and fun after she did her magic on my face and hair in the comfort of my own home in under an easy 1.5 hours. She was on time & well prepared. I even showered with a hair cap to extend the life of my hair style. I might need to plan another party just so she can come back!

Kathryn did my hair and makeup for a maternity photo shoot and she was amazing! She was responsive, accommodating, professional and as sweet as can be. I showed her pictures of hair and makeup styles that I liked and she just ran with it. I have really thick, heavy hair that cannot hold curls or waves but Kathryn made it work and it came out beautifully. I loved it so much I didn’t wash my hair for 4 days! As for makeup, I was going for a more natural look, basically the best version of myself and Kathryn nailed it. I highly recommend her for all your styling needs.

I have done two video shoots this month and I used Kathryn both times. She did an excellent job on my hair and make-​up. I saw some of the footage today and was so pleased with how it turned out.
When we met for the first shoot, Kathryn asked me various questions about how I wanted to look and what colors I would be wearing. I didn’t have a specific look in mind and I told her that I would totally put myself in her hands. It was a great decision! I looked really vibrant on film and I was very pleased with the results.
Today I had a specific look in mind and Kathryn nailed it. She’s wonderfully collaborative and I looked even better than I had imagined. Kathryn is a warm, intuitive and gifted artist. I totally recommend her for all of your hair and makeup needs!

Kathryn provided bridal make-​up and hair services for my July 2015 wedding. Kathryn also brought in JD to help with my 3 bridesmaids and mom’s hair and make-​up services. They made us look the best we have ever looked!
Most days I leave the house with only SPF moisturizer and I air dry my hair in the car on my commute to work, so choosing a hair and make-​up artist for my wedding day was a daunting task. I spoke to many artists over the phone in the bay area and Kathryn was the only one who made me feel comfortable. She eased my mind, and when she sent me pictures of the look she thought I was going for based off our phone conversation, I knew I wanted her to do my hair and make-​up on my wedding day.
I would recommend a trial if you have time. Finding the right look was a process for me :) I learned the way my hair grows and the shape of my head isn’t the most flattering for the up-​do I had in mind. Kathryn was nice enough to meet me for a 2^nd trial after the 1^st one didn’t go so well. My makeup was nailed down on the 1^st trial. We just made a few tweaks the day of that we had discussed during the 2^nd trail.
Kathryn is a fantastic artist. The manner in which she performs her work and operates her business is excellent. Kathryn is a good listener, she provides professional opinion, and her demeanor is very pleasant to be around on such an important and exciting day! Kathryn is so easy to communicate with and she does what she says.
The day of went pretty smoothly. My only complaint was that Kathryn forgot to put my veil in. I totally forgot about it until after I got in my dress and by that point her and JD were a good distance away. Kathryn coached my sister on how to put the veil in over the phone, and everything worked out. Let this be a warning to you brides, don’t forget about your veil! I did, but I’d like to blame it on the fact that I was so happy with my hair, that I didn’t want to cover it up! I would have given four 5 stars if it wasn’t for this hiccup. Even with the forgotten veil, I was extremely happy with Kathryn’s services and I highly recommend her. Kathryn and JD are a great team.

I could not be happier with how my hair and make up turned out on my wedding day — all thanks to Kathryn! I was referred to Kathyrn by a few friends and quickly set up a hair and make up trial. Once I got to my trial, I realize Kathryn and I actually played soccer together as kids!
My trial run was great but I decided I wanted a bit more make up to let my features stand out more on my wedding day. Kathryn was extremely responsive and accommodating and had some great ideas (she actually wanted to do a little more to start but I was too cautious). My mom was also a little anxious about how her hair and make up would turn out and Kathryn assured her she would take care of her on the day of– my mom was getting complements non-​stop. Kathryn also did my grandmother’s hair and make up and she kept joking she wanted to bring Kathryn home with her.
My day of make up and hair turned out perfectly. It was 95 degrees out and my hair and make up looked flawless at the end of the night!!!
Kathryn’s team did a great job with my sister, officiant, husband’s mom and grandmother. They were very accommodating to different skin types, comfort levels with hair and make up and were extremely flexible when they wanted to change their hair styles last minute, add make up, etc.
One thing I really appreciated about Kathryn was that she kept us on schedule. She was never pushy but make sure she had time to make my hair and make up perfect even when the rest of the group kept asking for more. She definitely knows what she’s doing and is extremely professional.

Kathryn did make-​up for myself (the bride), all bridesmaids, and mother of the bride for my July 2015 wedding in Livermore. She met me at my house about a month prior to do a trial for my mom and me, and she was so great in helping us decide our «vision» for the day. We were both so happy with our look!
On the day of my wedding, Kathryn and her partner JD worked tirelessly to make everyone’s look perfect. They were organized, calm, and efficient. Everyone was so happy with the way their make up turned out. I loved how my make up looked, and Kathryn knows exactly what to do to make you picture perfect! The morning of your wedding can be hectic, and Kathryn and JD made sure that everything ran smoothly. They were both so sweet and excited for me, and Kathryn even sent the sweetest text the next day about our wedding.
I would recommend Kathryn with the highest regards for wedding make-​up!

Out of all the details that were part of my wedding day I was most nervous about my hair and make up. I found my perfect dress, but of course wanted the hair and make up to match the look I was going for. I contacted the hair and make up people from the preferred vendors list that my venue provided me with, but Something just didn’t feel right about them to me. I went to Unilocal and found Kathryn and JD. I was reluctant, because I didn’t know anyone who had used them personally, but I’M SO GLAD I WENT FOR IT!
Not only are they both so so sweet they are amazingly talented. I went back and forth about my hair and JD listened to my requests and made time for me to do 2 trials. She was patient and very accommodating.
Kathryn was unbelievable. I don’t have the best skin so I was crazy about my make up. She not only made my skin look amazing, she was also kind the whole time.
Both women celebrated my wedding as if they couldn’t be happier for me. From two people I didn’t know, and who are constantly working with brides, I loved how they seemed genuinely excited for me.

I’m so happy I found Kathryn for my wedding. She and her assistant did hair and makeup for me and my 6 bridesmaids and it was amazing. I looked and felt gorgeous that day. I hate having anything near my eyes and Kathryn was very patient and worked around that to make my eyes look beautiful. The girls all looked amazing too, not sure I’ve ever seen them look better.
They kept us on schedule eventhough we were being difficult and forced them to start later than expected. Nonetheless, they spent time on each one of us and made sure we looked great. I bought new hair clips that we didn’t have for the trial and Kathryn made them all fit in my hair perfectly. She was very careful and diligent and they even did touch ups after they were done in case anyone touched their faces during that time. They were also a lot of fun, very friendly.

Kathryn and her team did hair and makeup for my April 2015 wedding and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! She is extremely talented, patient, easy to work with, and fun!
I had my initial consultation with her about 6 months prior — she came to my house, which allowed me to see how great she works even in a new setting that doesn’t necessarily have all the amenities as a salon. She made me feel so comfortable and was so open to my comments and feedback, and was determined to make me feel completely satisfied with the final product — I was so impressed! She went above and beyond to help me figure out what I wanted, and I couldn’t have been happier with how it all turned out on my wedding day! BayAreaBeautiful had all my bridesmaids and I looking gorgeous the day of my wedding. Kathryn and her team were very thorough to make sure everyone was liking how it was coming out. They were very punctual, even though they had to travel a bit to get to the location. My eyes are very difficult to work with because they water very easily, but Kathryn was very patient and got my lashes looking fabulous. I could not be more pleased with the outcome of her work.

Kathryn and J.D. were an answered prayer. The one thing I kept putting off booking for my wedding was hair and makeup. I searched and searched for affordable hair and make-​up artists who were highly skilled and trusted. I’m from Pleasanton, CA, but I now live in NYC and my wedding was in Carmel Valley, CA. All the hair and make-​up artists who would travel cost a fortune, and I could never bite the bullet on booking someone. Thankfully, my hair dresser in Pleasanton recommended that I get in touch with J.D. at Status Salon, and around the same time, I saw a friend of a friend’s wedding pictures in Carmel, credited to Bay Area Beautiful. It was obviously meant to be, because it turned out that J.D. (Status Salon) and Kathryn (Bay Area Beautiful) did the wedding together, and they are the DREAM TEAM! They are affordable, and extremely talented. From the first moment I contacted them, they were responsive, professional, and amazing listeners. My trial with Kathryn was fantastic. I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted, but I had some pictures of options. When Kathryn did one of the updos in a picture I had showed her, i decided it wasn’t for me, and without a second’s hesitation, she redid it, listening to exactly what I wanted to try differently. Same with make-​up. I am super picky when it comes to putting on a lot of make-​up, especially eye make-​up. Kathryn literally listened to every word I said, and she made me so comfortable. She reassured me that I should tell her if I wanted something different, since it is all about what I feel comfortable wearing. I had her re-​do the eye makeup, and she even talked to me on the phone afterward to reassure me that she understood exactly what I wanted on my wedding day. She remembered all the details I told her, and when the big day rolled around, she worked her magic. She listened so well that she even let me change my mind super last minute and decide to wear my hair down. It was the best decision I could have made, because I feel most beautiful with my hair down. I was trying to force an updo, because I was nervous that I had read about women wearing their hair down and ending up looking like a drowned rat at the end of a night full of dancing. Somehow, though, Kathryn made even my straight-​falls-​out-​after-​an-​hour-​hair stay beautifully done ALL NIGHT! It even survived an open-​air golf cart ride to a photo opp location (which I was convinced was the end of my hair!). J.D. did my mom’s hair, and I couldn’t be more impressed. My mom definitely knows what she wants, and she is not easy to please. J.D. listened to exactly what she wanted, and worked with her throughout her trial to make sure she loved her hair. On the wedding day, she looked amazing, and I was so glad she felt beautiful. She was able to enjoy the night and the pictures afterward. J.D. is also amazing at blow-​outs, and made my cousin, who wore her hair down, look like a supermodel! All my bridesmaids were so happy with their hair and make-​up, all done by J.D. and Kathryn. They are the sweetest women, and they are so professional and talented. I would recommend them a million times to anyone getting married or who needed their hair or makeup done for a special event. Thank you for making one of THE most important parts of my wedding day go flawlessly!

Kathryn and her team of amazing ladies did Make up and hair for me and my girls on my wedding day! She is an amazing make up artist! She is very thorough, and always makes sure that you like her job!
