History

Established in 1999.

Beautiful From Head 2 Toe has been in Livermore since 1999. The Bankheads have been established in the Livermore Valley for decades and owner Debbie Bankhead — Meiers continually shows her generosity by contributing to various organizations, churches, shelters, school and special interests to enrich the Tri-​Valley community including her own beauty on a budget day. The staff consistently stay current with ongoing education in the beauty industry. Beautiful From Head 2 Toe Salon-​Spa is located in downtown Livermore right around the corner from the Bankhead Livermore Valley Performing Arts Theater.

Debbie Bankhead-​Meiers is a Master Hair Stylist and Colorist. Her talent & artistic style shows through her passion for her work and her love for her guests. Debbie’s creative style allows her to create impressive results ranging from the latest trends to distinguished and elegant. Her professional talents can not be matched by any others in Livermore. Debbie is a Master curly hair stylist, Curly hair Devacurl Inspired Advanced Master Stylist, Matrix hair color educator, and Loreal Master Colorist. Her passion for beauty helps her to educate other stylists in this always-​evolving beauty industry! She is a business graduate of the summit salon academy. Debbie loves to share her years of experience to her talented team of artists at Beautiful From Head 2 Toe. I’ll never go anywhere else to get my hair cut! I had my first Deva cut from Debbie and she was amazing. With just a basic description of what I wanted, she gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had and taught me more about my own hair in one hour than I ever thought possible. Curly girls, this is your spot and the Deva products are so worth it!

I went in for my first ever real hair cut and it was a Devacut. I was extremely nervous about cutting my hair I had been talking myself up all week so I actually would make it to my appointment. To start when I called to make the appointment it was definitely a trust booster that the woman I spoke to knew everything about the Devacut process. When looking for a stylist you don’t know how many times I heard «you’re going to have to contact the stylist to get information on that» like what? You don’t know what happens in your salon? But the woman who took my call gave me a run down of how my hair should be when I come in and what would happen at my appointment. Debbie and her assistant are amazing. I was nervous but they are confidence inspiring. Debbie is so… I don’t have the words, I was so unhappy with my half straight (from all the heat products I’ve used) frizzy, dry hair that I had no idea how to take care of because no matter how good the products I bought were supposed to be they just weren’t working for my hair and that frustration is the worst. Debbie talked me through the whole cut and kept in mind that I was so NOT ready for shorter than my shoulders hair lol — Her assistant gave me a step by step on how to wash, condition complete with a mirror so I could WATCH how she was applying the products and working them into my hair. Debbie walked me through how to set, clip, dry, and style my hair. They both spoke about each product they used and what it’s purpose was. How to take care of my daily so I’m not spending a hour everyday trying to get this hair under control. Honestly seeing how knowledgeable she was when it came to curls put me so at ease. My hair looks so amazing now, when she showed me my before and after I cried. It has been such a struggle and my natural hair was such a confidence downer and hard to deal with period, I think I was so used to it looking bad that seeing it look this good just did something to me. I’m not a crier I swear. This whole experience did something to me, I’ve never been so excited to take a selfie in my life lol

Who knew I had curly hair? Not me! But Debbie did. She transformed my life (50+ years old!) and I have not tried to straighten by un-​straightenable hair since I met Debbie and the Deva process. It changed my life — so much so, that Debbie got top billing in my 2015 Christmas letter recapping highlights of my year — my hair! The Deva process saves time and money by not washing my hair daily and killing my hair everyday with a hot blow dryer and brutal curling/​straightening implements. And, on top of the unmatched service at the salon, Debbie treats her employees like family. I have finally learned, you get what you pay for and in this case, it’s all good stuff. Thanks, Debbie!

I will never go back to this salon. I brought my daughter in to Bri for highlights and when she walked out her hair looked exactly the same, despite being told «you are going to be so blonde when you leave here». When I called the same evening to complain I was told it was her hairs fault, that she will need another process, but she will give us $ 20 off the next appointment. My daughter has had highlights before. She has never needed two appointments. So over $ 100 wasted. I decided to write a review after talking to two other hair stylists that said that is not true with highlights, only lowlights occasionally. They said she didn’t leave it in long enough, which sounds more likely than blaming my daughters hair. I gave her a chance to make it right before writing a review and she chose not to. So consider yourself warned that if she messes up you will just be out a lot of money. If I could give her negative stars I would.

I had such a great experience here today! Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to try it. Brittni was very personable and did a great job on my gel removal and pedicure. I really enjoyed my appointment with her. Disappointed that I won’t be able to come back in for awhile but I highly recommend it to anyone in the area! Also I have to add that my biggest difficulty with mani/​pedis is I love them but hate wasting a ton of time having them done. Today I did their quick pedicure and the gel removal and was there for an hour. Perfect timing for me. And it was great pedicure!

I had my very first Deva cut today by Amanda. She was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about how to properly care for my curls. I didn’t change my style, just had her cut my hair so my curls really stood out. I am very happy with my entire experience at Beautiful From Head 2 Toe with Amanda!

If I could give 10 stars I would. I had my first appointment with Bri today and she changed my entire look! My first consultation with her a few weeks ago was great! We discussed color and the look I wanted to go for. She is so friendly and is very talented at what she does! I would recommend her to anybody to is looking for a great cut and color! I have spiral curls that are fine and thick. Nobody, in my many years of getting my hair cut, has ever given my curly locks a proper cut. I just happened to call Beautiful From Head 2 Toe and asked if they had a stylist that KNOWS how to cut curly hair. Yes we do, they said, yeah right heard that before, but they really do! Debbie (who cuts my hair) has been through schooling for curly hair and attends conferences in regards to curly hair. It’s called the Curly Girl Method, and Debbie has it perfected! Speaking of Debbie she is wonderful. Very easy to talk to and a fun person all around.
Anyone with curly hair must go and if they can do great cuts with curly hair, I have no doubt they can do a master piece with other hair types.

Thank goodness I found Bri and BFH2T. She has taught me to embrace my coarse, wavy hair and enhance my natural curl. My hair has never been healthier! Bri is professional and personable and very knowledgeable. If you have wavy or curly hair, you owe it to yourself to visit Bri for a Diva cut. She’s an expert colorist, too.

Summary: cut was great, «deva» experience was a waste of money.
Pros:
— Great cut! Briana cut my hair dry, and even though she pulled and played with it and lost some of the curl before the cut, it’s awesome!
— She consulted an updo stylist at the salon about keeping some length on my damaged hair so I can still style it for my wedding.
— She offered to trim a piece of damaged straight hair anytime I need her to, so I don’t make the mistake of chopping it off before my wedding.
Cons:
— 30 min late (pro — they actually called and told me about ½ hour before my appointment, but then they were still another 15 min late)
— A lot of hair salons cut curly hair dry now, and not under the guise of a «Deva» cut, it’s just common sense.
— The «Deva» experience for me wasn’t what I expected. I thought maybe we’d talk about my curl type, the cut that would work best for my face shape, what products to avoid, etc. Instead I had a dry cut, the Deva products were used on me, I was plopped under the drying hood then diffused after she finished another client. For $ 81 it seemed like a waste. I’ve had curly hair for 30+ years now. Nothing I learned was groundbreaking, guess I was just hoping to have more knowledge from the experts afterwards. Not sure if all salons offering «Deva» cuts are like this, will definitely update this if I try any others out.

Really felt like I wasn’t listened to, and my hair turned out much more different than what I was expecting or asking for. They obviously know their stuff, but if they’re not willing to really listen to what their client wants, then why do it?
However, I do want to note that I got my hair styled by Debbie before this, and she was a miracle worker! It seems that most of the staff have yet to reach her level when it comes to genuine understanding though.

5 stars for Bri for the super cute cut yesterday. I have sad chemo hair that is falling out and Bri fixed me right up. I don’t feel like a boy anymore.
5 stars for Brittni too. She gave my mom a super pampering manicure and I was treated to a fantastic pedicure. I have been a manicurist for 30 years and let me tell you, these ladies are amazing! A real treat to spend time here. I will be back!

So… I’ve been coming to get my hair done by Brianna for years! I recently got my hair done at another salon because I couldn’t handle the commute from SF to Livermore last month. As a result of this other salon, the blonde in my ombré has turned brassy; my ombré looked more like blonde tips because they started it soooo low. Furthermore, my hair looks and feels fried.
Today, I’m back for a correction!!! Brianna did not fail to give me what I want. Additionally, she cut off the dead weight and put a treatment in my hair. Wala… My hair looks healthy and fabulous again.

I still see Debbie; one daughter sees her as well, still; other, Amanda (I meant AMANDA in prior review… knew it started with an A… LOL) They are all incredibly talented and know their art. Debbie never ceases to amaze me with what she can do with curls. She LOVES what she does, and you can tell. I can’t tell you the number of curly heads with awesome cuts I have casually inquired as to who does their hair, and it’s always Debbie! The salon is always ultra clean, they always offer a beverage-​fantastic coffee! Debbie is genuine, generous, and funny, but serious when it comes to hair. Plus, if you need a minor bang trim, or don’t like this or that after a few days, she is happy to see you. Although I have always loved what she has done, but I do appreciate that she wants you to be thoroughly happy with your hair, and that you get what you want. «Cause we’ve all been through that scenario where you tell the stylist what you want, and you walk out like, what the hell just happened? NOT happening here!

This salon is fabulous! I loved the atmosphere, it felt really clean and fresh. The stylist I saw was Marissa and she was great. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted and she gave me the exact color I had in my mind: D I have gotten soo many compliments and I have Marissa to thank for that! Great job girl! Also, she did a brow wax on me and I was a bit nervous cuz brows are everything ;) but they have never come out so good! She kept them full with a great shape. Thank you so much! I will definitely be returning :)

It was my first time here and this salon is suuuuuper cute inside! I’ve never been to a place like this before and I love it!
Marissa did my hair and she did a fabulous job! I always want to do something fun and different to my hair but never know exactly what and Marissa came up with the perfect color!
I love my hair, love the salon, and love marissa… LOVE LOVE LOVE!
