Cornerstone Fellowship of Livermore

It was my first time visiting Cornerstone in Livermore. I have my home church in San Francisco but really wanted to see how Cornerstone is.
First impression: huge community of Christian families. Not that this is important but there was free coffee, donuts, and bagels when entering in the front.
As you walk through there are people there to greet you and you can approach the information desk. I spoke to a nice lady there who introduced my boyfriend and I to Bruce. Bruce showed us around and gave us information on where to go for the message.
The worship songs are great and there is a huge teleprompter in front so you may follow the words and sing along. The crowd is mixed of all ages and ethnicities which I like.
The message was very applicable, historical and can easily be led. I unfortunately forgot the speaker’s name but she was great. She was funny, clear, and had great points.
There was a little bit more worship at the end with announcements.
I am looking forward to coming here again in the near future.

We love this church, I wish there was a Tracy location so we could be more involved. The pastor is real & we like that. He’s easy to learn from & he’s funny.

Love our home church and fellow worshippers, knowledgeable staff that do their best to meet your spiritual needs. Well maintained facilities and many ministries you can find to suit your needs for spiritual growth and support. One can find themselves to be emotionally and spiritually challenged with each message and small group discussions that are relevant to today’s issues.

This review is for the Hayward campus of this church. The service is held in the movie theater in downtown Hayward. Sounds wierd right? Well let me tell you it’s pure genious! I’ve been a church goer all my life. Some of the less desirable things about church I’ve experienced over the years have included uncomfortable seating, formalities like not being allowed to bring food or drink into the sanctuary, tiny low tech screens and sound systems used in the worship service and having to stare at the backs of people’s heads. While these factors have not deterred me from attending, they have certainly not been a plus factor in my worship experience. Well, cornerstone has solved for all of these «minus» factors by having service in the theater. Plus, there is a wonderful coffee and crêpe shop right at the entrance to the theater, and lots of free donuts and pastries the church offers in case you didn’t have a chance to eat before arriving. I can’t explain the completely relaxed and easy feeling I have when coming here. I don’t want to leave when it’s over. There is a live worship band at the beginning and end of service that does an excellent job. There is a live designated pastor you can speak with at this site if you desire… He is very nice and there is no pressure to talk to him or others, yet he is friendly and says hi all the time so you know he’s there if you need him. And then, the service /​sermon is given via live satellite feed on the big screen from the Livermore campus pastor. I feel like I’m part of a large church, but in a smaller more intimate and local venue close to home. The kids service is held in their own age appropriate theater. My kids love it!
After service is over, you can take advantage of early bird movie prices too and then enjoy lunch at a nearby restaraunt with the family. You can make a day out if this, and it’s a good way to get the kids to go to church! Highly recommend this place and there is no downside that I can see after attending for the last 3 weeks. This place has helped me renew my faith and desire to once again be a part of an intimate church community.

Cornerstone is not my home church, my home church is in W.C. I’ve been involved in a couple of the singles ministries at Cornerstone. The single’s ministry has totally gone through a big transition period. I was attending a group on Sunday evening that was for ages in there twenties, even though I was older, I was part of that group for about two years, the name of that group is called Sanctuary. The group decided to meet at another church for the services, I’m not familiar with the other location. I really know that Sanctuary thrived while at this church, just not sure how it’s doing know.
The other single’s group I was involved in was for people in the 30’s-40’s age range. The pastor singles ministry has left Cornerstone and gotten involved at a different church. I had some solid times of biblical teaching from both of these fellowship groups. Unfortunately, the groups aren’t meeting like they used to anymore. Not that it’s a bad thing, that’s just how it is. When I had an art show last year, some people from the church singles group came, that meant a whole lot to me.
Cornerstone has vast amount of ministry opportunities to get involved with. I’ve been to a solid worship concert, Lincoln Brewster, he totally is a shredder on the guitar, and I also attended a telling of The End Of The Spear, which was super solid. God Bless all of you!

Met Pastor Steve today with my family. Pastor Steve’s sermons are insightful and engaging. We listened to the worship team’s 10,000 reasons like never before. What a blessing. Now looking to fellowship with other leaders and perhaps even Cornerstone’s well regarded Men’s group.

Love this fellowship… at first my son and was not sure. Over time, it’s grown on us and we love how conveniently close it is to where we live;) I realize patience is important!

My wife and I are blessed to call Cornerstone Church our home. While the number of people can be overwhelming for a new person, that can be quickly helped by joining a life group and getting invested in serving others w/​the many available ministries. We see and feel the power of the Lord in the amazing pastoral staff, the facility itself, many answered prayers and of course in the grounded presentation of salvation and scripture. We both also have fully engaged with the current study and call to be «All In.» We are focusing our personal prayers to seeking God’s will with our evangelism efforts, ministry volunteer work and our finances. We’ve been going here for 3 years now. No church is perfect. It’s a big one and we prefer smaller. But in the midst of size the people are warm and the greeters friendly. The worship is sincere.
Pastor Steve is gifted at expositing the scriptures into clear applications. It’s easy to see how the church has grown.
You’ll encounter people from a broad swath of experience and backgrounds. Don’t assume everyone is the same. When you’re new it feels like that bit you’ll soon find that it’s pretty diverse.
So no church is perfect. It’s not supposed to be. But for us, it’d be hard to find better.

I have been to cornerstone several times. They have many impressive features. Their regular Sunday service is nice, but what really caught me off guard was their teaching pastor Rob Dalrymple’s campaigning against Israel in which he repeatedly accused Israel of committing crimes against humanity in several church seminars, doing so in an unbalanced way.
Call me biased since i am a jewish believer, but I was alarmed by the church’s mission to evangelize other Christians into one sided anti-​israel beliefs. It has been noted by many pro Israel supporters that «Anti-​Israel» has become the new acceptable way to be anti-​Semitic.
Is Israel perfect? Certainly not, but to teach a one sided message without a balanced view seems contrary and irresponsible for what one might considered a modern evangelical group.
I went to two of their seminars and appreciate the information and struggle they presented for certain Palestinians. I understand this is a difficult situation to maneuver and people are likely to feel and actually be wronged in the process. I merely would hope they would reconsider their unwillingness to present both sides.
I did ask them to review the website www IsRealPeacePossible com or check out the book «The Case For Israel» with Alan Dershowitz because I was told there was no other side.
Their commitment to a balanced view of this issue is questionable at best since publicly they are unwilling to present both sides.

My family and I have been attend

I came here for the first time this past Sunday with my bf, and we were thoroughly impressed. Both of us are familiar with formalized, stuffy churches run by pastors who have the gift of putting you to sleep within the hour. Not here though!
The minister here has a sense of humor, ties his real life stories in with the scriptures, animates the verses in the Bible and sends an inspirational and spiritual message applicable to our lives. He does this with conviction and real passion. Additionally, maps, images and words on the two large projector screens on either side of the stage are used as visual aids to follow along during the message. There is nothing wrong with adding a little humor to the sermon. Laughter is good for the soul. It breaks up what could otherwise be a monotonous message by adding interest which gets people’s attention to pay more attention to God’s message. It is merely one quality of what makes this pastor a good speaker not the epitome of the sermon. Clearly Bill P. needs to loosen up and listen to the message which is not remotely a comedic show.
Yes, this church is quite colossal. For this reason, I find it less intimidating. I also love the fact that it is also very diverse. I saw every race in attendance, couples, families and singles. That’s what I call unity! If you miss a sermon, it’s also online. Yes, we are definitely returning to hear more of God’s word!

My family has been attending here for a few years. My 2 kids absolutely love the kids programs! This is a very important area for me when attending a church. The service content is great, and the lead Pastor Steve dies an amazing job at preaching the word! Please come and visit!

Going to Church should not be so you can have a great time laughing at the pastors jokes. That fact that the people keep saying how funny the pastor is should make you think, why am I coming here? Is it to get some cheep laughs, or to worship God? If I want to laugh I will watch a funny movie, or TV show. If the best thing about this church is how great their coffee shop is, then you really need to sit down and look at what you believe. I am told there are a lot of ex-​Catholics here, and that really shows how shallow we have become.

I have admired Steve Madsen and Mark Calcagno when they worked at Valley Christian back in the early 80’s. These guys are solid so I am not surprised they helped make Cornerstone such a success! Cornerstone is an important part of my spiritual life and has helped keep my walk straight. The teaching is solid and life changing. I see the next generation of leaders forming and I like what the future will bring.
