D & K Floors

My wife & I recently purchased a condo and requested D&K Floors to provide a quote for various types of flooring options. Darin came out and gave us excellent information on pricing and options. D&K also worked with our tight schedule and laid beautiful new carpet within 2 days. I am very happy we chose D&K Floors and fully recommend them.

I just had my carpets completed this last week by Darin and his crew. I cannot speak more highly of Darin. He is professional, personable, and approachable. You can tell he runs his company with the utmost integrity and excellence. He has numerous years of experience and it is obvious that he is very knowledgeable about every aspect of the carpet business. I would not recommend anyone else to do your carpet project. His prices are also very competitive.
I want to also comment on his crew… wow…again I cant speak more highly of them. I told them they were an excellent example to my kids of impeccable work ethic which I appreciated so much. to the point where it almost brought me to tears.
The guys arrived at 8AM and constantly worked at «break neck» speed and with high energy. They barely took a break for lunch and were back to work. They were at my house until 10PM!!! Darin told me it was a 2 day job but they wanted to try to finish in a day for me. They got 95% complete. The head installer told me he had to drive to San Jose to drop off the 2 support crew and then head home in Stockton. Then he was to head back to my house the next day to finish the job alone. He got 2 hrs of sleep and was back at my house at 7AM.
He completed the job and the quality of the installation was excellent! You could see obvious attention to detail. I had a difficult patterned carpet to work with and Darin told me it would be easier to see the seams. I CANNOT detect a seam anywhere and all lines were lined up perfectly with other details of my house. All I can say is WOOOOOW! I wish the younger generation had ¹⁄₁₀^th of their work ethic in their little pinky.
Anyway dont even waste your time getting other quotes… go straight to Darin and you will get a great price and be well satisfied…

I am very proud of the job Darin and his crew have done. they were on time and they did a good job. we ran in to a snag but he took care of it as he said he would. he is a man of his word, I appreciate that .

I am a realtor and have been using Darin for my clients carpet installation for years, and myself and my clients have always been extremely happy with my work. What prompted me to write this review is a house he re-​carpeted a few weeks ago. The house is older (1971) and the hallway floors sqeeked terribly. When they pulled the old carpet out, and added more nails, it didn’t help. Immediately his amazing crew went to work, and for the next 2 hours, added support boards under the flooring to be sure there was no noise when walking down the hall. Way above and beyond — this shows such Pride and integrity!

In the Bay Area — I’ve worked with five different flooring companies on various houses and rentals. Darin Ford and his crew are by far the absolute best in the Bay. We had him install commercial grade luxury vinyl tiles in our rental condo. He had a wide variety of samples to chose from — and his crew was fast and did a beautiful job with attention to detail. His prices are beyond reasonable — it’s not often that you get the personal service of a small business with below big-​box prices.

I called Darin a couple months ago and he did a great job on my townhouse. He was on time and showed me the different types of carpets and gave me reasonable quotes. Darin finished the job on time and everything was cleaned up perfectly.
He was very friendly and professional.
I’m going to use him again for any local carpet needs.

We needed new carpet quick after the steam-​cleaners failed to remove a strong dog odor in a section of the ground floor of the house we just bought. I called Darin on Monday at 9p & received a return call in 10 minutes. He was on-​site the next day and we had new carpet by Thursday afternoon! His guys were clean, quick, and efficient. We have great carpet and no more dog smell. Very happy.

We recently moved into a home where in the living room the previous owners had a cat that peed all over! We didn’t notice the smell until a few months in, as they had saturated the sub floor with pet fresh — after a few months though the smell was unbearable! We went to home depot, lowe’s and called a few carpet stores. Home depot and lowe’s were not helpful at all, and couldn’t give us a quote (unless they came out to the house and there were a million add on* charges) When we had a carpet store owner come out to our house, again, he would not give us a quote and insisted that I come out to his store 45 minutes away to select a carpet color and he kept suggesting swirl pattern carpets, due to the width of the room (I have no idea why) all we wanted was a standard beige color — very simple — we wanted it installed quickly and nothing out of the ordinary — the carpet was butt up again hardwood, so color matching was not an issue as the only other carpet was on the second story. Fast forward to finding Darin here on Unilocal.I called him on a Sunday, he came out a couple days later, brought some carpet samples (colors and different qualities) perfect, picked a color and medium grade carpet, within 2 weeks (we had to push out the install date due to busy weeks) his crew came out and installed it, it looks beautiful! Our baseboards are still in perfect condition, AND they left the remnant piece so we could make some mats and hauled away our old carpet, oh and Darin saved us some $$ by telling us how to treat the subfloor so the cat pee smell wouldn’t penetrate thru the new carpet. Thank you Darin, the carpet is wonderful and the install beautiful, wish we had done it sooner! We will call you when we are ready to do the upstairs!

I’ve had Darin come out on two separate occasions to do carpet and tile. His crews do excellent work and his pricing is much lower for higher quality carpet (especially compared to «big» places like Empire Carpet). I can’t say how he compares to places like Home Depot and Lowes for lower end carpet (say for a rental), but on the higher end quality stuff, I couldn’t find anywhere else that was better all-​around. I *highly* recommend these guys.

I originally found out about D&K Floors from my buyer agent. I had my carpets installed Darin’s team and it looked great. If you go to any carpet retailer and find what you need, call Darin to come out and quote the same item. For us he got much better pricing.
He explained the differences between carpets and carpet padding. There was no pressure to buy from him and his team is nice too. I recommended this business to another couple and they were happy with his services as well.

I found Darin, owner of D&K Floors after VERY frusutrating experiences trying to get 3 rooms carpeted from Empire Carpet’s «buy one get the whole house deal» and then Home Depot and Lowe’s via two store visits and several phone calls, all encounters ending in depair and fear of being taken advanatge of.
In came Darrin. He met me the day after I called him and he was a straight shooter from the beginning explaining the different types of carpet, how the commercial carpet companies work, and after assessing my needs, he gave me a great quote which was cheaper than Empire Carpet. (I had not shared with him their quote before his quote)
Three days later, his team was on site and they removed the old carpet and pad within 20 minutes and began cutting and forming the new carpet. All three rooms were done to perfection within 2 hours. I should mention all three rooms had closets, two of which had some tough angles.
It is rare that I write a review, but this was such an amazing relief to find a business owner out there that is honest and delivers on what he says he will. I would HIGHLY recommend D&K to anyone needing carpet work done.
