Elite Event: La PanotiQ

Yet another mellow event for the Elites. There were all sorts of croissants, sandwiches, salads and desserts for us to sample. I had no idea there are several of these locations throughout the Bay Area.
I enjoyed the salad because it had different flavours that I’m not used to trying. The family that runs this is also very enthusiastic about their product so they make sure that they get ingredients from other local businesses.
Support ‘em and don’t forget to try the AOC butter. Everything is made fresh.
I enjoyed everything. I’ll be back especially since it’s not far from my ‘hood.

My plus one and I came here without knowing how much food we would be served. I really thought we would only get little bites of everything. We sort of did, but there were still a lot of food! We started with a cup of coffee (along with their almond milk). I personally don’t like almond milk, but their almond milk was so good! It’s nutty and sweet. We basically sat in our seats and the staff just came around and offered us the different types of pastries. All the ones I’ve tried were so delicious! I especially loved the croissant. It was so soft, so flakey, so yummy!
The owners of La PantioQ introduced us to their menu as well as the origin of this bakery. I can’t believe I’m eating pastries that came from France! It’s amazing! We continued our «three course» meal with salads and sandwiches. Both salads were delicious. They were simple, yet the sauces were just that good. The sandwiches were delicious as well. I only got to try to chicken and tuna ones, but they were fantastic! All the ingredients complimented each other very well. And you can’t forget about the risotto. It was seriously the best thing I’ve had. It was my favorite of all the things we tried. It was just so good and the cheese on top, mmm! We ended our meal with three different types of cakes, which were incredible. My favorite was definitely the passion fruit and mango one. Yum!
Thank you La PantioQ and Stephanie for this wonderful event filled with delicious pastries, salads, sandwiches, and dessert! Shout out to the accordion player who played the wonderful French music for us during the whole event!

OMGsh, I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve heard about La PanotiQ… shame! Regardless, I’ve told just about everyone I’ve come into contact with the last week about this place (family, kids Jiu Jitsu parents, moms group) starting with the AOC butter used, how all the pastry dough from France, and how you can get fresh baked baguettes a few times a day with this French butter on the side (*drool*). People seriously salivate and ask me where they need to go. Obviously, it’s not hard to dish on the awesomeness! The shop is gorgeously designed too — reminds me of high end handbag stores with globe shaped chandeliers and plush chairs.

*beverages: fruited water, bicycle coffee, and house made almond milk
*Pastries: croissants, pain au chocolat, and pain au raisin — flaky, buttery, pretty perfect.
*César: house made garlic herb croutons, creamy anchovy dressing
*Frisée: speck, orange and grapefruit segments, honey Dijon dressing… really delicious
*French sandwiches:
–jambon fromage: ham, Brie, butter
–saucisson: salami, butter, cornichons
–chicken & egg: hard boiled eggs, roast chicken, lettuce, tomato

Every sample was super delicious and I was floored by how much we got to taste. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to eat much since it was at 3−5pm on a Sunday, but we were STUFFED! My faves were the frisée salad, thon sandwich, and ivory mango passion dessert. Off the chain! They source the best ingredients from local family owned businesses and it shows. I couldn’t leave without purchasing slices of ivory mango passion, Madagascar raspberry cream cake, and ½ dozen mini macarons for husband and kids.
Thank you Maria and Megan from La PanotiQ for spoiling us with your wonderful food and hospitality! I will definitely be back with husband, and kids, and parents, and friends etc. HUGE thank you to our darling EBCM, Steph, for organizing yet another fab YEE. If it weren’t for this event, I’d have no idea how fabulous La PanotiQ was.

Great event. Enjoyed the baked goods, coffee and almond milk to start. Followed by the sandwiches and salads which were my favorite part. And ended with three desserts which were beautifully made showcasing the artistry in creating thin delicate layers of cake. Each dish had great flavors.
My faves were the custard and chocolate twist, tuna on baguette and salami as well.
Loved the live music and modern feel of the place. Owners were sweet and can’t wait to return. Fun event and was surprisingly full. They truly kept the bites flowing… to my hearts (and all the, other Unilocalers) content!

I don’t come to Livermore often, but when I do, it’s for Unilocal Elite events!
Oh, and I suppose their burgeoning grassroots restaurant scene is worth checking out also.
Anyway, my +1 and I were excited to try our first Unilocal Elite event in the East Bay (her first time ever, my first time in a year or so), and what a better place than La PanotiQ? Thank you, Stephanie, for letting us in!
As much as I want to comment on the chic interior and the lovely staff, I’ll let the other reviews here speak for them, as they have taken all the words I wanted to say about them. Not that I’m mad, of course! Hahah.
Food:
Croissant — Much lighter than any croissant I have ever eaten. However, I found that the very core of the croissant was kind of raw. Still enjoyed it though.
Chocolate croissant with vanilla custard — Not as sweet as I had anticipated.
Chocolate croissant by itself — It didn’t leave a memorable impression, as it was basically a croissant with chocolate chips on it.
Caesar salad and salade frisee — Both salads looked and tasted fresh! I love the pieces of cheese for the caesar salad; I’ll take big pieces over shredded ones any day of the week. As for the salade frisee, we both loved the combination of fresh grapefruit and orange along with the arugula and dressing. Refreshing!
Legume sandwich — Also didn’t leave a memorable impression.
Jambon speck — TRES DELICIEUX! This had to be one of my favorites of the afternoon. Just think ham and cheese… with AOC butter. I don’t recall just what kind of butter they used, as «appellation d’origine contrôlée» is just a designation that it’s really high standard butter for Frenchies, and it usually has a high butterfat content (which guarantees flakey, buttery, enhanced taste), but it really enhanced the sandwich like no other ham sandwich I’ve ever had. I’m sorry, America, but step your butter game up.
Tuna sandwich — See legume sandwich.
Risotto — Another favorite of mine. It had just the right amount of cheese, rice had a nice texture, and damnit I wish I ordered one.
And as for dessert, the only one I’ll comment on (as it is the only one I remember from the afternoon), is the opera cake, a 7 layer chocolate cake which was very delectable, chocolate-​y, and worth trying a full piece next time.
tl;dr: Almost everything here is good, owner and staff were very nice and accommodating, Stephanie is awesome, and I hope to go to another event sometime!

Hubby and I love going to French Bakeries and delightfully surprised to discover La PanotiQ so close to us! Thanks to LaPanotiQ and Unilocal for hosting this event… it was nice to meet fellow Unilocalers and enjoy French treats together! My faves were the chocolate chip vanilla custard twist, raspberry & vanilla bean dessert, and the thon sandwich. Unfortunately the hostesses missed our table with the jambon fromage and salami sandwiches… I think they ran out too quickly… so sadly we didn’t get to try those! But we ordered a jambon beurre to go ($ 10.95) and it was delicious! The bread is crispy on the outside and soft/​fluffy inside, I can only imagine how it is when it’s fresh out of the oven!

Awesome! I love French bakeries. I arrived too late to get the breakfast pastries): but everything else was delicious! I really liked the bread for the sandwiches, and the salami was yummy. I got a salad to go with the sandwiches, and the fruit made the salad very refreshing. The desserts were good too; I especially liked the passion fruit/​mango one.
Thanks to Steph for putting this all together! It was fun and delicious; looking forward to more Unilocal Elite events!

Another fabulous Unilocal event, this time hosted by the wonderful Stephanie and the owners of La PanotiQ.
It was treat after treat starting with sweet and buttery breakfast morsels, moving on to savory lunch fare, and then to sweet deserts. Good food, good company, great atmosphere, it was an wonderful event. There was even an accordion player to enhance the mood and frame our minds for the food we were sampling. I doubt anyone left the event hungry, the waitstaff kept circulating making sure each person tried what they wanted and had seconds (or thirds) if wanted.
I’ll drop a review of the food on the PanotiQ page itself but I have to say that my wife and I had a great time.

AOC! Who knew there was a whole nutha level when it comes to butter!?! It comes from France and has more fat which equals more flakey buttery yumminess. That’s one of the main reasons I love coming to events like this. Owners get a chance to talk about their food and explain the why stuff tastes so delicious. And it is delicious. We were able to taste a sampling of salad, great sandwiches, risotto, and three amazing desserts. Everything was great, even the legume sandwich. I have a strict «I need meat in my food at all times» rule and I even enjoyed this vegetarian option.
This is the first offical Unilocal Event I have been to with our new CM Stephanie and it was fantastic. The check in process was fast and easy, it was well organized, and she has a great and upbeat personality that set the tone for fun!

Ooh la la! What a lovely event complete with full fat buttery goodness!
First of all, the staff was so wonderful. You can tell they are very passionate about their product. Oh, and we met the beautiful CEO. We’re very important people, you know.
The food! From croissants to salads to sandwiches to desserts, everything was so delicious! My favorites were the chocolate croissant and the ham and Brie sandwich.
The décor is very chic. Don’t come here in your sweats, you slob.
And…I finally met Stephanie! She is charming, funny and effortlessly cool. You go.
And, finally, thanks for letting me bring my kids to their first Unilocal party! I hope they didn’t wipe any boogies under the oh-​so-​chic table.

The food was to die for. I have travelled extensively through Europe just like the owners and also have found America’s offerings seriously lacking when I got back. From the croissants to the sandwiches to learning all about their local and French ingredients, I loved every second.
My favorite was the pastry twist, oh man. If I lived closer this place would put a few pounds on me for sure!
