Amazing customer service! He came out the same day we called him and got the problem fixed right away. He even took time to help us program our system and explain how everything worked! Thank you once again!

Called and left a voicemail early in the morning explaining how my furnace was not working. Len called back in ½ hour and tried to help me on the phone in case it was an easy fix. I was very impressed that he was willing to troubleshoot and help me without charge. Once we could not resolve it he agreed to come over all the way to Pleasanton in an hour to have a look at it. Fortunately it was an easy fix by replacing batteries on my thermostat. I was scared it was going to be something big and expensive. I am glad Len did not take advantage of my lack of knowledge of the HVAC system. Thanks and definitely recommend him.

Similar to other reviews, I called in to get an appointment. I mentioned our heater was out. Of course with the first big chill of the year, we weren’t alone. He mentioned he was slammed and not able to get out to our place until Monday (it was Thursday). I told him that was fine, but then he proceeded to ask a number of questions about the symptoms and made suggestions for things to check in the interim (if we were comfortable!). They suggestions were easy enough and fixed the issue! We had heat by Thursday night. I cancelled our appointment Friday morning. He saved me $ and time off of work. THANK YOU Len! If we ever need service again in the future, we will definitely choose LACHR!

We just moved to Livermore and the heater would not fire up on the first cold day and it was really cold! Len Barker was not able to come our immediately but spent time with me over the phone trying to rule out certain things. He advised me to replace the fuse and he then spent more time between his appointments walking me through the next steps. I could not believe that he went the extra mile for a stranger, knowing full well that we was doing himself out of a potential house call.
I was eventually able to get it running and called to cancel the appointment I had made.
Len told me to take the $ 100 I saved and go out for a nice dinner!

Our 12 year old AC unit decided to stop working, and after looking at reviews, we called out Len to have a look. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, gave me a verbal estimate, and we scheduled a visit. Len came out, examined the unit, and verified that his diagnosis was correct (blown capacitor). He replaced the part, verified all pressures and capacities, and charged me exactly what he quoted on the phone. Took 45 minutes.
What I really appreciate is that Len did not try and upsell me on recharging the unit with cooling fluid, etc. He merely fixed the problem, took my garden hose and cleaned off the units, charged me, and was on his way. I’d recommend Len for fair treatment with integrity.

We have two central AC systems and of course one went out during this recent hot spell. I contacted Len and he gave me some hints over the phone to do some simple troubleshooting on my own. Still didn’t work so he came by and after troubleshooting, advised that compressor crapped out. I went over the options and costs of each and decided to simply replace the compressor. He was thorough and professional and the job was completed as promised. Honest and so far we have absolutely no reason not to trust him. I also like the fact that when I have an issue, I am speaking to Len, the owner and the individual who will be servicing/​repairing our units. He’s very busy this time of year and we agreed that texting is also the best way to contact him.

Called Len again for another job since I was pleased with his service the first time. Left a message and he called me back. I spoke to him about a job and made an appointment with him a few days later and even gave me an approximate time that he expected to show up. He stated that he would call me prior to arrival to make sure someone was home. He said he would call me to cancel if an emergency situation came up but would otherwise see me. I even sent him pictures of the part that I needed to help save time. Glad I stayed home because he never called or showed up. I would have at least expected a call if he was too busy which I would have understood as it was hot. Very disappointed and will use another local company.

Like many, our AC condenser bit the big one during the first heat wave of the year. After reading stellar reviews, we contacted Len and he came to our rescue. He ordered our replacement unit, installed it, and got us back up and running in no time. He helped us weigh the pros and cons of different units, and was able to quote us a reasonable price over the phone.

I have been in business for 7 years. I have used many vendors and Len is by far the best, most honest person I have EVER used. My business is in Pleasanton. He really doesn’t like to service anyone outside of Livermore. But he did me a favor and came to help me when my walk-​in refrigerator went down. He showed up on a Saturday (It always breaks on Sat or Sun). He made suggestions to my husband on how he can fix himself & then stopped by since he was in the area. I got a quote of $ 6k from another AC company to replace my cooler/​compressor unit and Len told us that was too much to pay. He didn’t try to get the job himself, just said it should cost us less to replace.
I try to call him when it’s time to service the unit but like I said, he doesn’t need to go outside of Livermore, therefore he never returns my calls for those things. But when I needed him the most, he was so kind to come and help me out. Thank you, Len. I highly recommend him if you are in Livermore or if you have a large enough job for him to come to you.

The fan of the A/​C unit outside our house stopped working although the compressor continued to run. Once I noticed this, I immediately shut off the unit so not to burn out the compressor. I called LAC and (this was lucky to catch him at the right time) within 10 minutes Len Barker showed up. He diagnosed the issue while explaining what he was doing every step of the way. He replaced a failed capacitor and within minutes had the unit back working. He ran a couple followup check and confirmed the unit was operating within specs. My father did this for a living so I am familiar with heating and A/​C work, Len was very impressive, fast and reasonably priced. Can’t recommend him high enough.

The A/​c unit outside the house was broken down with parts missing.
Len Barker (the owner) gave a free quote and also advised on various pros and cons with different options. He ordered parts himself from East Coast, and fixed the unit within a few days.
Very reasonable prices for parts and services with best service support.
He also visited a second time to show how everything is working fine before handing it over to us. He diligently sent the invoices via email and patiently waited until our payment check reached him.
I would definitely do business with Livermore A/​C again and recommend it to others.

Wow. I called Len as my de facto HVAC guy disappeared. He was great. Came in, diagnosed the problem and had the system up and running just like that. Most others have tried to upsell me on a new system but Len shot straight, fixed the system (and had the part I needed in the service vehicle!). Guess who my new go to guy is!!!

This company was reffered to me by a friend who recently worked with them, he said they were fair priced and helpful… this was a understatement!
I called looking for help with my AC which stopped working. Len was very pleasant and he happened to be in the area and showed up 5 minutes after my calling. He old me what the issue was and how to avoid it, he didnt even charge me.

Called Len this morning to come out and look at our unit which wasn’t turning on. He was very courteous and let me know he would be over shortly to see what could be the problem. He was quickly able to identify the problem and had it fixed all before the day got too hot. He even gave us some tips on how to maximize the efficiency of our unit and hopefully save on energy. Definitely the best repairman I have ever hired!

Our AC stopped working yesterday. I called Len based on his Unilocal reviews and he was out the next morning. He already had a good idea what may be wrong and he was right. Had the part, did the repair, and was done in about 30 minutes. Price was excellent and I couldn’t be more thankful.
It’s now freezing again inside our home.
He told me is is very busy, so be patient if he doesn’t answer his call. I wouldn’t work with anyone else, he is very honest.

Had an issue with the AC condenser unit outside, AC would not blow cold air. Called Len on Friday and he was swamped but asked about conditions of the unit. I walked him through what I thought it was and how I trouble shot it. We discussed other options for me to check out and said he might be available Tuesday. Len called me Monday and said he could make it out during my lunch hour. We met at the house and within several minutes had it narrowed down to the capacitor and another item. He was very polite, knowledgeable and was always concerned about my time and wallet. He offered several suggestions for future upgrades and had my unit operational all told in about an hour.
I could not recommend him more and I will always drop his name to people in need of Heating/​AC service. Call him if you have need of the services he provides.

We didn’t have much of a problem but it was fixed right away.
A neighbor had complained about the noise our air conditioner made — it’s a condo that we rent out. So we gave Len a call. He was out there the next day and on time.
He checked out the unit and immediately figured that it was a capacitor. He pulled the capacitor, installed a new one and that was it. Problem solved!
I’m glad to have found Len. I know people in the HVAC business. They’re are a lot of good people in HVAC but there are a lot of scammers. It’s a bit scary when you need to call someone new.
For this simple job, Len had it dialed and he didn’t try to come up some other problem or try to sell me on anything else. He just fixed what was broke and was done.

This guy, Len, is incredibly honest. I’ve used him twice – once to fix our nonworking air conditioning, and another to fix our nonworking furnance. In the former case, he replaced a breaker on the outside compressor and only charged us a nominal fee. In the latter case, he tweaked a couple of things, got the furnace running, and didn’t charge us a dime. And he also showed up on time both times. He also chatted about what kind of furnace filter to get and how to read the error lights on the furnace, etc. He is definitely old-​school honest.

Called and spoke with Len a couple of times. Had to keep calling back never returned phone calls. Finally made an appointment for him to come over and he never showed up… no call or anything. If you do not want the work then just say so. Would not recommend unless you like the run around.
