As the owner,

I’ve worked for several Tree service companys and have aquired a well rounded knowledge of what works and what doesn’t. I can recognize safety issues that people of the untrained eye couldn’t, as it takes someone with experience to get a job done profesionally & safely. I also bring into consideration our environment because I believe that it is our responsiblity to keep this world healthy for our kids and their future, and unlike other companys, I grow a tree in place of every tree we remove. I am personally following a dedicated career path as an arborist as we can always learn something everyday. I’ve made it my goal to have my business thrive, and only thru commitment, proffesionalism & courtiousness can a family owned busines survive in this economy. These guys were terrific, prompt service and competitive pricing.
We had four trees removed, plus several shaped and trimmed. They turned up on time, set expectations on how long the job would take, and then did exactly as promised.
The team were very courteous, well equipped with latest machinery and highly motivated to do an outstanding job.

A few years ago, Stumpy’s (Glenn and crew) braved dirt roads and creeks to clear off a fallen oak on our remote Livermore ranch carport and to thin several oaks near our cabin. This winter, we had them back again to cut and clear three giant trees that had fallen across some of our ranch roads. Stumpy’s is a great company that offers excellent, prompt and friendly service at reasonable prices.

What a great company! Glen came out to give us a very reasonable estimate. His crew arrived promptly on time to do the work. They were friendly, respectful and careful with my property, and when the job was completed, there was no evidence of all the greenery they removed. They cleaned up so well and even moved my patio furniture back where it belonged. I highly recommend Stumpys.

We’ve had Stumpy’s out a couple of times this year to trim and remove trees. They are always very prompt, communication is great, and they do a very good job before, during, and after the work. We’ll continue to use them in the future!

When Glenn came out to give me an estimate, he took the time to explain how he would approach the job and why. I appreciated his patience and input. He was very thorough in his explanation. When tree trimming day came, he personally went over what we had discussed to make sure we were both on the same page. When the job was complete, he came back to see how it turned out and asked if I was happy with the pruning.
The Stumpy’s crew did an outstanding job! I cannot express enough thanks for the beautiful job they did. Not only did they do a beautiful job, they also cleaned up every last bit of debris. I think I got an outstanding deal on the tree pruning and the removal of another tree (they even ground the stump). The price was very reasonable for the total job.

I can’t say enough about this company! So good! They arrived bright and early with a smile and a handshake. They took trees out and thinned other trees. Everything looks beautiful. Special note about the oak tree, it turned out so pretty. Thank you! I like that small town feel from a company, and thats how they are. All his workers were cracking jokes, smiling, enjoying their job. Glen, you’re doing it right, I won’t go anywhere else.

These guys were great! Well deserved 5 star reputation. They trimmed 3 fruit trees, 2 monster redwoods, a Japanese maple, a myrtle, a different type of maple, and a chrysanthemum bush all for less than a G. Not only was this by far the most affordable quote that we got, they did a beautiful job and cleaned up after themselves.
When getting a quote ask for Glenjamin. He’s great and a total tree dork. Fun to talk to, knows his stuff and doesn’t BS.

I am reviewing Stumpy’s as a vendor, on behalf of my company, and I couldn’t speak higher of them.
My company needed to subcontract some work for a commercial property of ours and we were not able to use our usual vendor due to timing conflicts. Working with Stumpy’s was quick and simple;; their office staff is professional, efficient, courteous, and accountable. They were able to give me an actual schedule date right away OR offered me the option to be put on a sort of «stand-​by» list (if an opening came up) where they called an hour prior to arriving
(I only wish I had discovered them sooner and saved myself the headache of dealing with other arborists.)

I had called multiple other tree service companies and found that they were scheduling jobs MONTHS away from now. After seeing the Stumpy’s truck parked at in my neighborhood while they were working I decided to call. They were able to get a time slot for a detailed quote within a couple weeks and the job was scheduled a couple weeks after the quote. The owner and arborist is a class act. He knows his trees and pleasantly surprised me with how genuinely excited he was to see we have an avocado tree.
The crew arrived on time. We did a walkthrough to confirm the extents to which the trees would be cut back and they promptly got to work on the 5 large trees we have. We very much appreciated their efforts to prevent damage to our synthetic grass. Plywood was laid down and it worked perfectly.
I did not expect them to rake up all the fallen leaves from the windy days that preceded the job but they left our front and back yard very clean and void of any debris. I also appreciate the way they used their power equipment. Chain saws were only on for a few moments at a time, not left idling endlessly.
Stumpy’s is a class act all around. They will get my business again.

Today, I had an unusual request. I needed a Tree service (Tree climbers) who could come help me rescue my large male Iguana from a large tree in my front yard. I called Stumpys for help. The woman who answered the phone was very professional and kind and took down my information and told be she would pass it on to Glenn to see if he could help. Glenn called me back in a very short time and said he would come, no obligation, make an assessment to see if he thought he could safely get my pet from the tree. When he arrived, we chatted a bit while he made his assessment and we agreed (with no guarantees on how a wild animal would react, understood) he would climb the tree and attempt to get my big boy down.
Due to Glenn’s careful assessment and smart ideas on how to proceed, My Iguana is safely back where he belongs.
I know this is not a service that others are likely to need but the actions and reactions of Glenn and his team prove they are skilled, caring and professional. I have trees, too. I’ll defiantly be calling them when my trees need trimming… and also, if I need my Iguana to be rescued again!

Since my wife won’t let me climb up into our 100′+ Pine Trees with a chainsaw I guess I had no choice but to call Stumpy’s. Glenn and his crew did a fantastic job of explaining the scope of work and why they would be pruning certain areas and how the service would help the trees.
They crew did an overall fantastic job, were professional, took extremely good care of our patio furniture, and other items outside and when they were finished raked and cleaned every inch of our backyard and didn’t leave a trace of their time here. I was also able to collect a good pile of all the pine chips and spread them over a Rose bed. Excellent work Glenn!

Stumpy’s did a great job trimming my crêpe myrtle trees and my huge deodar cedar. They spent about 8 hours shaping the cedar which had not been adequately trimmed in about 20 years. They cleaned up everything including my neighbors’ properties of all branches and needles. I would highly recommend Stumpy’s — i was very pleased with their work. They were very clear on the job details and their price is very competitive.

It’s seems more and more rare these days that a company performs as advertised. This is even more true when the saying «you get what you pay for» sometimes means the lowest bidder means the lowest level of service.
I can honestly say that Stumpy’s is the first service we’ve used for our home where not only was the pricing more than reasonable (we felt we got way more than we paid for), but they outperformed what they advertised to us. The process was transparent, honest, timely, and professional. What’s more, not only did they complete what we asked them to do, they left the work site in a better condition than what it was before. For example, we had them remove a tree that was in the center of our patio. After having done so, they not only swept the entire patio, they even placed our outdoor furniture back in place which was entirely not expected. (They also swept it far better than we ever have).
This is the first company that I can recommend to others when it comes to home services, as long as it pertains to trees (not sure i would recommend them for plumbing but who knows…)

I needed 7 trees removed, including one fan palm next to my house. Not only was Stumpy’s the lowest bidder of three, the job they did was excellent. I would highly recommend them.
Update: I used Stumpy’s to grind two tree stumps near my driveway. Afterwards, I noticed they didn’t remove all of a buried root on one of the stumps. Glenn examined it and said they would remove it without charge, since it should have been removed along with the stump.
Also, I asked him for an estimate to remove a surface root in another part of my yard. When he examined it, he noticed it was located near the position where one of the trees they removed sat and its end had removal debris next to it. He concluded the surface root belonged to that tree and should have been removed when the tree was removed. He then offered to remove it without cost.
This is extraordinarly excellent service. It confirms my original assessment that Stumpy’s deserves a 5 star rating.

10 stars if I could! Stumpy’s removed a bunch of trees for us at the end of January and they did such a fabulous job. We had 6 cypresses that were right against a sprinkler valve and they removed them without scratching the irrigation system. Amazing!
We also had a large fruitless mulberry in the back, with killer roots and tons of leaves everywhere. Stumpy’s crew spent extra time to make sure the job was done right and left the yard incredibly clean. These guys are professional and well worth it.
We got 4 bids and they price they quoted us was very competitive. They were the only ones with a real live person answering the phones. We did have to wait for our appointment, since they were booked out a few weeks & they took some time off for the holidays, but it was worth it.
We need some trees trimmed the following year & would definitely go back to them.

Stumpy’s Tree Service is extremely professional, friendly, and they did an excellent job taking down 3 of my trees as well as pollarding my front tree.
From the get go, Glenn was a pleasure to work with! He is very honest and upfront. They arrived on time, and was ready to go. We did one finally walk through where he explained everything they were going to do again, just to make sure we were both on the same page. His crew was just as professional and friendly as Glenn. They worked their butts off taking down my trees and making sure the stumps were gone! After they were done, my yard was spotless
They went above and beyond my expectations and the whole experience was great. I would highly recommend them if you need any tree service. As a matter of fact, I plan on using them to shape my tree when it grows back. I have also recommended him to my friends and family.
