The UPS Store

After reading the reviews, I almost went to a different location. Fortunately, I had a delightful experience with a man assisting me. I had one large box to mail and he was efficient and friendly. The pricing was exactly as I expected. My entire transaction took less than one minute. I would use them again.

Worst company ever. Store was terrible. No help. I had 12 boxes and envelopes with 2 day labels. One box was unsealed and they wouldn’t let me ship any of the other ones until I paid 2.50 to them to seal the box shut. Absolutely a disgrace to customer service. I will never be bringing my business here again.

The worst! Stay away, unless you have a low self esteem and enjoy being treated poorly. The girl in there in her mid 20’s HAS to be related to the owner and he/​she has no «huevos».

The absolute worst customer service imaginable from the 20 something female employee. I waited to be helped while she rudely assisted the lady before me. I thought trying to be as nice as possible would brighten her day a little to NO avail. Stay clear of this store. She MUST be related to the owner because fellow employees also get her rath. Go elsewhere for a better day.

Terrible location. FedEx gets my business from now on!
$ 2.50 to retape a drop off package with a pre-​paid and pre-​printed label, come on. There’s too much competition in your space for being this cheap. I will never use UPS again.

I haven’t done any service with this store and NEVER will! Before I read the reviews here I called to ask about getting a mailbox here. Not only did this bozo talk over me, not hearing my questions, but wasn’t talking TO me. He was horribly condescending, and in the end, when I went to end our conversation, I said «Thank y…» He friggin hung up on me!
On the business side, they are more expensive than the other two UPS stores in Livermore. These guys wanted to charge me $ 100 for 3 months vs $ 75 at the other two stores. I recommend the UPS store on N. Vasco, they are SO friendly and helpful. They want your business and the Stanley store obviously didn’t give a rats a$$!

This location is AWFUL! They are slow, rude, super unfriendly and obviously out to make an extra buck. Do yourself a favor and avoid coming to this location, no matter how convenient it is.

I agree with others about this place. I wanted to ship the box to arrive on Monday and was told that wasn’t an available option for arrival in time for Xmas. Really? I was pushed into paying way too much for a box to arrive on Friday. I do think that these stores are not regulated by UPS — there was no weight on the ticket and I wasn’t told how much it weighed. I shipped it only because it was on the way home from work and I didn’t want to deal with the post office. Next time, it’s the post office no matter what the circumstances. This rivals the UPS store on First Street for overcharging and poor service.

Worst Customer Service I have EVER encountered. I had a UPS box here for over 2 years. The owner and employees are unwilling to help, they always seem too busy to check to see if mail has arrived, over charge for services like faxing and packaging, and hold your mail hostage if you are late in paying for your box, then charge an astronomical late fee. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! They didn’t forward my mail as requested, and now they want to charge nearly $ 15 to forward ONE piece of mail. I also believe that I was double charged for my last month, and refused to pay for it, but because they were holding my mail «hostage» I had no choice but to pay them! I felt like I was being extorted. Terribly run business.

Wish there was an option for «NO STARS»…this UPS store SUCKS! They over charge for EVERYTHING!!! The woman who owns this place would charge you for standing in line if she could get away with it. She’s a flat out liar to boot. At Christmas I had a last minute package, which I wrapped and packed myself. She told me that my 14lb box, would cost $ 86.00 to ship to Massachusetts. I said that was highway robbery and she retorted that it would cost me over $ 100 at the US Post Office. I didn’t believe this was true, so I took the box to the USPO and guess what? It cost $ 45.00 to send it Priority. I only go in there now to purchase boxes in sizes the USPO does not sell.
I love to let her waste her time telling my why I should send it via UPS because it’s so much cheaper… afraid not, dear!
I am not sure, but individual UPS stores must be able to price things as they see fit and/​or not adhere to a corporate standard. It’s more cost effective and faster to mail US Postal Priority if you use their Flat Rate boxes, which are free.

This is probably the worst UPS store that I have been too. They don’t have UPS envelopes, UPS box’s or UPS labels. Remember this is a UPS Store (and those items are usually FREE). They force you to buy their envelopes and their box’s. They purposely hide the UPS labels, so you can’t use your own UPS number to ship an item. This way they can force you to purchase shipping directly with them and charge you 100% markup. I just went across the street to FedEx.

I came to drop off a package that already had a shipping label and postage paid. It took about two minutes for the girl to come out from the back. No hello. No smile. No bye. No thank you.
I’ll go elsewhere.

Just for the passport picture… I never knew a passport picture can look like a twisted ghost face. I hope the custom can let my 6-​year-​old pass. This UPS won’t let us take more than one shot and would not retake it. You only have one second for one shot. Once your kid sit straight on his back, it is done! I have to come out a good reason why my son’s face looked so messed up… in case we will be denied the entry.

Been in here a couple times and not been impressed with their customer service. The ladies are certainly not friendly! This last time I mailed a get well package to my daughter who lives out of state. Two and a half weeks later, the package shows up on my doorstep with a sticker on it that says return to sender for postage. You’re kidding me? They did not put the postage on the package that I paid for?! SO UNPROFFESIONAL!

I used the UPS My Choice service to deliver a package to that location for pick up, the advertised cost of which on
is $ 5.00. When I arrived to pick up the package the store demanded $ 10.00 for the package and would not release it to me for the advertised price. The woman working there even acknowledged that she has «gotten in trouble» for charging $ 5.00; they are essentially marking up the pick up costs as they see fit.
I have called UPS to file a formal complaint against this location, unfortunately these are separate third party entities and separately owned and operated, there really is no recourse through UPS for the package ransom racket they are running.

I wish I could give zero or negatives stars. I had a HORRIBLE experience! Here’s what happened:
I live on the east coast, but was in California (where I’m originally from) to attend a bridal shower a friend had hosted for me. Among the gifts I was given was a large picture frame/​guest book for the upcoming wedding where guests could sign on the matting. Unfortunately, it did not fit in my suitcase, so I went to the UPS Store in Livermore to have it shipped to myself on the east coast.
When I arrived in the store, I showed my box/​package to the employee working there. I told her what was in the box, and she suggested I buy a roll of tape to wrap around the box to make sure it was secure, which I promptly did. She told me the total cost I would have to pay, and with the tape I spent about $ 35.00 but expected to receive my package within a week or so.
Four weeks later, I still had not received my package. When I looked up my tracking number online, I discovered that my package was discarded. Nobody ever contacted me to tell me the problem with my shipment; I had to research it myself.
I called UPS, who referred me to the UPS Store where I had originally done the transaction. They said my package was confiscated because it was not package well enough. Funny that nobody told me BEFORE my item was accepted, only after.
It seems to me the UPS Store employees ought to know what their own shipping/​packaging requirements are. Nobody told me there was anything wrong with the way that my item was packaged in its box, with a whole roll of tape around it.
If the item broke, I would rather have received the broken items than nothing at all.
So, the item was worth $ 125.00. I’ve since ordered (and received) the replacement. In addition to the $ 35.00 I paid the UPS store, this whole transaction has cost me $ 160.00.
I’ve called to ask them what their plan is to rectify the situation, and basically have been told it’s my fault and they do not plan to refund my shipping money, do not plan to reimburse me for my loss, etc.
So, my point is, if you want to have reliable shipping, with quality customer service, with staff who are versed with proper packing requirements who will guide you properly to ensure your item arrives at its destination, and who will rectify your situation should anything go awry, please do not do business with UPS Store on Stanley, or its sister store, the other location in Livermore. They are both owned by the same woman, Hartal. She will just take your money and run, and has very little ethics in her business about doing what is fair and right.
They failed to deliver my item, and similarly failed to make the situation right.
BEWARE!!!

I give this place 3 stars but that is only because the guy that works there is nice and helpful and knows what he is doing. I have gone there many times to print out stuff from my flash drive. Unfortunately their system is down more often than not and they are unable to print anything. It Really Stinks!!! I find some of the workers there less than friendly. They seem kind of over it.
