This business provided me with professional consultation on matting and frames. The result is a museum-​quality hanging that exceeded my expectations.
I entered the shop with a a worn poster board wall hanging, a decade old, that was headed to the trash. I rescued it for its beauty and after a thorough cleaning brought it in to be framed. I received professional consultation on matting, with the employee riffling through hundreds of colours until he settled on one that referenced the tones and technology of the image. After a discussion of frames and glass, my order was placed.
While I awaited the finished product, I had concerns about the framing of the artwork. Would the logos and text be too close to the matting? Would the crushed backing that held the poster board cause issues with framing.
The final result was flawless. The attention to matting colour, frame, and glass transformed the poster board into art. The placement of the matting provided the perfect amount of whitespace around logo and text. Clearly an artist with a knack for layout worked on this frame. Brilliant!

Came back for the second time after a 5 year hiatus and it was just as great as my last experience! They always have sales going on so all the supplies I needed were very affordable. The sales associate spent a lot of time helping me pick out the right acrylic paints and answered all my questions with patience. They have a reward program now too! It’s free to sign-​up, they just enter your name, e-​mail, and phone number into their system so you don’t even have to fill out any forms (love that!!). I don’t remember what the reward is but you get it for every $ 100 you spend in-​store. I am definitely coming here instead of larger art supply chain stores. They are more knowledgeable about the products they are selling and aren’t just there as a retail drone working for minimum wage. Thank you for the great experience :)

I called for a custom made frame for my flat panel TV which hangs on our family room wall. Shakeeb was so friendly and helpful and understood exactly the concept I wanted. Here’s the great part… he took the measurements over the phone, text’d me some sample frames and built the thing in 1 day for a reasonable price. How’s that for service!
As a contrasting story… I had just had two pieces for art work framed my Richard’s and it took 3 trips into the place for them to get the order correct and 6 weeks for the frame to be made. Way Up Art has won all my future business!

I’ve been shopping here since I was a kid. I have always gotten great service and beautiful custom cut mats.
I recently did a charity art show to raise money for ongoing work in Haiti and they very generously donated all the custom cut mats for my show. Without them I could not have raised all the money that we did. I will be a customer for life.

I recently came here to get a picture framed for my dad of my deceased grandpa it was soooooooo beautiful my dad loved it so much!!! Shakeeb was very knowledgable and helpful. He gave me suggestions on what to do and got the frame finished in no time. If you need anything framed this is the place to go!!!

i freaking love this place! i get all my supplies here, their a bit overpriced, but i love the setup, and theirs student disscounts available. the fames look crazy expensive, but most places are

I’ve only been in once and dealt with the owner who was very nice and helpful. When I entered the store he was helping a young man with art supplies on a limited budget. The owner helped him choose the most economical quality products and when he came up a little shy with cash, helped him further. As a result of that first experience I am going back today for a few more custom mats. Support your local establishments!

This place should get negative stars. The worse customer service I have ever had and I have lived all over the world. I was told about this store by another ART store in livermore. Micheals and the other store didint have the brand I needed. The young man who works there was very helpfull and informed me on questions I had. He didint seem to know about the Art College I am attending (strange). Not more then a minute after he leaves me to compare the paint shades i want to buy a woman walks up to me. This store is very small and I am very sure she knew the guy just talked to me. She walks up and asks if i need help. I tell her no and the young man just helped me. She stands there for 2 – 3 minutes just looking at me! she leaves but less then a minute later she walks by again and looks at my hands. I am feeling very uncomptable at this time and I know whats going on. about 2 – 3 minutes pass and I see someones head loking around the shelf.(spying on me) another few minutes pass and she walks up to me again asking if i need assistance! I tell her no and I am picking out my colors. A few more minutes pass and i see her head poking around the shelf again! By this time I am very pissed and its clear whats going on. I am satisfied with my color choices and walks around the very small store. I am in an aisle when she comes speed walking down the main aisle. her shoes actually made a sound from stopping so fast! She stares at me before even talking. Problly looking at me up and down to see if i have stuff in my pockets. Then she askes if she could get the paint tubes i have and put them behind the counter! She also asked what brand they were and how many I hand! I tell her no thank you and i can carry them just fine. She stands there staring at me for about 5 minutes not saying one word after.
I ended up buying about $ 35 in paint, but wish i didint. They were the only store in the area that had the paint I was working with.
I didint know people like this still existed in our area!

I have had three framing jobs, and two separate repairs done here, Shakeeb (the owner) and all his staff are knowledgeable & courteous, and the prices are great! I will continue to patronize this establishment ! thanks for great service, great work, and great prices!
